Zac Efron wallpaper

It seems like ages ago since I posted my last Zac Efron wallpaper. It's a tradition that would be a shame to give up, so here's a new one for your enjoyment!

20 Rides

Although Disneyland is higher on my wish list than Walt Disney World, the fact remains Walt Disney World is a lot larger, made up out of no less than 4 themeparks, so I thought I'd make myself a list, per park, of the 5 rides I would really like to take, if I had only 5 to take. Here we go:

The Magic Kingdom
1) Splash Mountain
2) Jungle Cruise
3) Pirates Of The Carribean
4) The Haunted Mansion
5) Space Mountain

Epcot
1) Mission: Space
2) Test Track
3) The Seas
4) Spaceship Earth
5) Soarin'

Disney's Hollywood Studios
1) Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror
2) Star Tours
3) Backstage Tour
4) Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
5) Rock 'n' Roller coaster

Animal Kingdom
1) Expedition Everest
2) Kilimanjaro Safaris
3) Dinosaur
4) Kali River Rapids
5) It's Tough To Be A Bug

Der untergang

Der Untergang is on Dutch television tonight, so I decided I'd give it a go, as I've seen Jerry Maguire before and didn't feel the need to see it again. I'm glad I made this decision, as it truly is a very impressive film. It's all in German (but of course we've got subtitles) and deals with the final days of Hitler, before the Third Reich collapsed.

It's really a strange movie. Normally, when you watch a World War 2 movie, it's from the perspective of the allied forces. I live in the Netherlands, and the Netherlands were occupied during the war, so naturally every WW2 movie sees the Germans as the enemy, and obviously, I can't stress this enough, they were.

This movie is filmed from the perspective of the Germans in Hitlers bunker, as if they're the good guys. We see them suffering from the bombings of Berlin, and almost, just almost, feel sympathy for them. I guess the way how this is achieved is because we see nothing of the horrific things the Germans did during the war. The movie makes it seem as if they're innocent victims, trapped in their bunker. While watching the movie, you have to keep reminding yourself of the horrors of World War 2.

It's a strange movie in that respect, but it's also an incredible well made movie. I'm glad I'm watching it.

State of the day: Oklahoma

State 4 in my trip around the United States is Oklahoma, also known as the Sooner State. Here are my three favourite things:

1) The Wichita Mountains (pictured above). Measuring about 59,020 acres (238.8 km2), the Refuge hosts a great diversity of species: 806 plant species, 240 kinds of bird, 36 fish, and 64 reptiles and amphibians are present. The refuge's location in the geologically unique Wichita Mountains and its areas of undisturbed mix grass prairie make it an important conservation area.

2) Bisons. Almost extinct at one day, thanks to the white men hunting them down in insane numbers, they are now still present in Oklahoma, preserved in National Parks, to ensure their survival. Beautiful animals!

3) Oklahoma City. The state's capital is a large and modern city, which I bet is a sight of relief in a conservative state. If I would want to live anywhere in Oklahoma, it would be in Oklahoma City!

This is part 4 out of a series of 50, next stop tomorrow: Michigan.

Fascinating person

Watch Lady Gaga on Barbara Walters' "Most Fascinating People" special.

Nobody wants graffiti

Beating up Rihanna didn't exactly benefit his career, as according to reports, Chris Brown is on track to sell around 95,000 to 100,000 copies of his new album, Graffiti, in his first week. While this may seem like quite a lot, it's a lot less than the 300.000 copies his last album sold.

Is the public really sick of him? Let's hope so!

IMAX Eclipse

The Twilight Saga movies are making so much money for Hollywood, they're having hard times coming up with ways to milk them even more. Fortunately, there's always someone who knows how to wrench the last cash out of the fans, so what did they come up with?

The next Twilight movie, called Eclipse, will become available in IMAX theatres, meaning they can ask for a lot more money for tickets. And while I'm sure people would love to see Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner on such a big screen, this is a bit too much, isn't it?

Wow! Here's the first official film pister announcing Sex And The City 2. Marvellous!!! I can't wait for the movie to come out!

Gelredome XS

Because of a huge renovation, Ahoy Rotterdam, my favourite Dutch concert venue, will be closed from March through September 2010. Of course, the concert season doesn't stop because of this, so LiveNation Netherlands (Mojo Concerts) is taking the arena shows, that normally take place at Ahoy, to Gelredome Arnhem.

Now of course, Gelredome is a lot larger than Ahoy, so they needed to think of something to make it more intimate. In order to do that, LiveNation created the Gelredome XS (Extra Small) concept, where they use curtains to make the venue smaller. In the Gelredome XL version 12.500 people can watch a concert this next year.

Tomorrow I'll be buying tickets to Rihanna's Rated R Tour, and she is one of the artists who will play at Gelredome XS.

Snoop calling

Snoop Dogg is holding out for a collaboration with either the Rolling Stones or Madonna - because he wants to experience what it's like not to be "the big one" on a track.

The rapper has worked with a host of stars as diverse as Willie Nelson and Justin Timberlake, but his sights are still aimed high for a really big duet.

He tells Nylon Guys magazine, "I wanna be on a track where I'm not the big one. I wanna do a Madonna or a Rolling Stones or a Quincy Jones - something where their name is bigger than mine. "Something where it's like, 'Wow, I can't believe Snoop Dogg is on a track with Rascal Flatts!'"

Jerry Maguire

Tonight on Dutch television: Jerry Maguire, starring Tom Cruise, Renée Zellweger and Cuba Gooding jr.

In the heights

Corbin Bleu, the guy from High School Musical everyone forgot about, will star in a Broadway play next year. Corbin will be appearing as the lead in the Tony award-winning In the Heights beginning early next year. I didn't even know he was still into acting, as all the attention in High School Musical went to Zac Efron, but it's nice for him he found himself a new job!

Close to sleepwalking

Robbie Williams was on RTL Boulevard tonight, and he annoyed the hell out of me. His singing performances were as uninspired as they could be, I mean, he wasn't actually sleepwalking, but it was a very close call, and he looked like he wanted to be someplace else, even though the studio was full of his fans.

Even worse: the interview. For some reason these days Robbie spends half his interviews talking about how he hopes one day he and his old bandmates from Take That will get back together and do a duet or a show or whatever. It makes me wonder if interviewers are required to ask him about Take That, cause ever since he left the band there has never been a time when he talked about them as much as he's doing right now. Could this have something to do with the fact they're the biggest band in the UK right now, and his album only came in at #2 in the charts (beaten by the runner up, not the winner, of last year's X-Factor, JLS)?

Maybe his comeback didn't work out the way he hoped it would be, so now he's lifting on the succes of the group that's actually making great records and fantastic live stadium shows.

Anyway, it annoyed so badly I turned it off, so I haven't seen the entire interview. I might not buy his album after all.

Trash

Britney Spears' video to '3' was on MTV tonight (I know, it's a miracle I was able to find a music video on MTV in the first place) and I was actually a bit surprised by it. I know Britney's 'live' performances are just crap, but I figured at least her video's would be of some quality.

Think again! It's just some dancing in front of a screen, and a demonstration of how many clothes you can take off without it actually becoming porn. Put that together with a less than mediocre song, and there you have what Britney has become: trash.

Too bad though, there was a time in her career where I thought she would actually become something of the new Madonna, but even Madonna has a little bit more class than Britney has.

Circus talk

Last week Take That asked what their fans thought of The Circus Live DVD. They’ve selected a few of their favourites for their official website. Check them out:

PrincessSophie09 – ‘Well I got the DVD and have watched it many a times! Sat down with my Mum to watch it last night and we both laughed, sung, cried and danced through the entire duration. Once it had finished we sat in silence for a while before she said ‘WOW’ An amazing DVD with so many memories to re-live through it!’

moxywoman – ‘I’ve already watched the concert disc four or fives times and love it, but what I’m REALLY enjoying is the Abbey Road Studios disc! I brought it into work on Tuesday and listened to it over and over again on my computer. I know what the lads should do for their next album: take it back to the bare bones and showcase their voices in an Unplugged-style record. Actually hearing their individual voices and the parts of their harmonies is unbelievably exciting. More, more, more of that, please!’

anaisal – ‘When someone tells you that something is amazing, marvelous, brilliant, and you haven´t seen it, then you could be disappointed because it´s not so fantastic as it´s said to be. This is not this case. I´ve read a lot of incredible words about the Circus Show, and now that i´ve got it I only can say…...INCREDIBLE, AMAZING, BRILLIANT. you rock, boys. I couldn´t see you, you didn´t come to Spain and I couldn´t go to England to see you, all these months waiting for your DVD and it worth it.’

This week, Take That would like to know what you think of their new live album The Greatest Day. Go to their website to have your say!

Still together (alas)

Grmbl! They still haven't split up? Zac Efron and Vanessa 'whore' Hudgens were spotted dining out at Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Restaurant in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday night.

Dump that ugly witch already!

Wardrobe malfunction

“I wish I had supported Janet more. I’m not sorry I apologized, but I wish I had been there more for Janet."

Justin Timberlake, speaking about the so-called wardrobe malfunction during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime performance.

Such loving people

What great people Christians are, aren't they? Since a bunch of asshole Evangelicals told Uganda officials homosexuality can be cured, there's now a proposal of putting a death sentence on gays and lesbians in Uganda.

"In the beginning, when the missionaries brought religion, they said they were bringing love," said Ugandan gay activist, David Cato. "Instead they brought hate, through homophobia."

Fucking idiots! Protests against the bill by gay-rights activists in New York and Washington have already taken place, while a protest in London is scheduled for this Thursday.

There's hope yet

Good news for Robert Pattinson fans: according to the Twilight: New Moon actor himself, he is not currently dating his co-star Kristin Stewart:

"I am single…almost everything that came out about my private life is false. I think it happens because, really, there is not much to say about what I'm doing.

"While I am filming, I live practically [like a] recluse in [a] hotel. I come out only to work, and sometimes to go out for dinner. But, if you read the magazines, it seems that I have a frantic high life."

There is still hope for you, girls!

Kylie by William Baker

Due to the overwhelming demand for the strictly limited edition hard cover "Kylie by William Baker" which came out last year during the X Tour as an individually numbered and autographed collector's edition, a paperback version will now be released in time for this Christmas!

The images in the book were all photographed by Kylie's Creative Director and close friend William Baker.

The book, which contains over 200 pages, spans Kylie’s return to the stage with the 'Showgirl Homecoming' tour up to the 'KYLIEX2008' tour. As such, the book documents a pivotal and intensely emotional part of Kylie's life, when she took the first brave steps back into the limelight – and her progression from that point.

William Baker reveals that he started photographing Kylie primarily at this stage of her life: "After Kylie's illness she became quite selective of whom she wanted round her. Her level of privacy was increased and, because of this, I stepped up as photographer – almost by default. Of course Kylie then had a lot to do with my progression as a photographer. She is an amazing subject to capture – it would be very difficult to take a bad picture of her".

Kylie says simply; "Willie and I have a unique relationship; its quite symbiotic. We feed off each others talents and understand each others insecurities! Quite simply, we both love to create, and this book illustrates that."

This stunning paperback book is now available from the Kylie Store priced at £85 including postage to the UK and Europe, and £95 including postage for the rest of the world.

No revolver in France

News is just in that Madonna's new single 'Revolver' won't be released in France, Warner Music France is promoting the 'Celebration' remix by David Guetta featuring Akon instead. The cd single which will most likely include 'Revolver (One Love Remix)' is scheduled to be released on december 28.

State of the day: Rhode Island

Today we’re travelling to (in size) the smallest of the United States: Rhode Island, also known as The Ocean State. Here are my three favourite things:

1) Mohegan Blufs in New Shoreham, pictured above, has one of these coastline’s that could be used in movies. It looks like an untamed wilderniss, yet’s it’s right there in a populated area. It’s the sort of beach one might expect somewhere in the United Kingdom (Cornwall) or France (Bretagne). As you may know, I love the ocean anyway, but a shoreline like this makes it even more beautiful!

2) New England style towns look like themeparks, that’s how beautiful they are. It’s hard to believe people actually live there, as they appear to be build just for tourism. Of course, this is not true, and a lot of people actually do have the luck to live in one of these charming villages you often see on television. Rhode Island is filled with them!

3) The Claiborne Pell Bridge, commonly known as the Newport Bridge is one of those bridges that’s just too big to imagine. The main span of the Newport Bridge is 488 meters (1601 ft), ranking it number 70 among the longest suspension bridges in the world, and making it the longest suspension bridge in New England. The overall length of the bridge is 3,428 meters (11,247 ft). Its main towers reach 122 meters (400 ft) above the water surface, and the roadway height reaches as high as 66 meters (215 ft).

U + UR hand - live in Rotterdam

And finally (for today, that is): P!nk's U + UR Hand, from the Funhouse Tour, recorded live at Ahoy Rotterdam on December 6.

Just like a pill - live in Rotterdam

Watch P!nk sing Just Like A Pill, the second song of her Funhouse show, at Ahoy Rotterdam, last Sunday.

Bohemian rhapsody - live in Rotterdam

Watch P!nk sing her fantastic cover of the classic Queen song Bohemian Rhapsody, on December 6 at Ahoy Rotterdam, during her Funhouse Tour.

Sober - live in Rotterdam

Watch P!nk singing Sober, during her Funhouse Tour at Ahoy Rotterdam, last Sunday, December 6. Due to an injured shoulder she wasn't able to do the trapeze act herself, so one of her dancers is taking care of that part of the show. It's a great song nonetheless!

Thumbs down

Dutch Queen Beatrix has been critised for wearing fur! Dutch animal rights foundation Bont Voor Dieren nominated her for the title of Dom Bontje, which is a title given to famous people who wear fur. Obviously, people shouldn't be wearing fur at all, much less people who are rolemodels for other people.

A big thumbs down to Queen Beatrix!

Rated R Tour

Rihanna's coming to the Netherlands! On April 17 2010 her Rated R Tour will visit Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem, LiveNation announced today. Ticketsale will start this Friday through LiveNation and Eventim.

I need to buy myself a ticket!

More royal meetings

It wasn't just Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus met with Queen Elizabeth as well yesterday. I wonder if the Queen even knows who she is, but Miley was probably thrilled meeting her.

Caught by surprise

She may have looked pretty good on the red carpet, as I showed you earlier today, but when Madonna got caught by a photographer backstage at the A Single Man screening, she looked a lot less spectacular!

Woosh!

At the Funhouse

A new picture of Maaike, Jelle and me, taken last Sunday during P!nk's Funhouse Tour at Ahoy Rotterdam.

The world stops turning

Bad news for As The World Turns fans! Today it was announced that CBS will end As the World Turns on September 17, 2010, ending Procter and Gamble's longtime involvement with daytime programming.

Brian Cahill, senior vice president and managing director of the P&G subsidiary TeleNext Media Inc., said the company is actively seeking a new outlet to carry the show. As of yet, it isn't certain if the show will continue on another station, or if this really does mark the end of the soap opera.

Obsessed with looks

Some more pictures from Madonna at the screening of A Single Man, earlier this week. Although she doesn't look too bad, it's so obvious it's all plastic surgery it's just a bit pathetic. She could look so much better if she wasn't so obsessed with her looks...

Shocked by a comment

One"News"Now for once didn't censor my comment on one of their ridiculous 'articles', so I thought it would cool to share it with you guys! First, here's the 'article' itself:

Abercrombie crosses line, ADA takes stand
Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 12/8/2009 5:20:00 AM

The American Decency Association (ADA) is drawing attention to Abercrombie & Fitch and their in-store photography.

ADA founder Bill Johnson has monitored the business and its advertising for several years. His latest criticism concerns the in-store display illustrated by Johnson as one "that is just so inappropriate for a store that targets younger teens, older teens, even college-age students. These pictures are inappropriate for all those ages," he contends.

In the current photo, the ADA founder says it is obvious that the embracing male and female are unclothed. He believes it is once again time for consumers to react to the display by returning recently purchased items and gift certificates with an explanation why.

"We do encourage people to write letters and e-mails as well," Johnson says. He welcomes shoppers to partake in "any kind of expression of concern if you're not in the store in the mall or taking the time to go over there directly to the store, then by all means write them, e-mail them, fax them, make the telephone call."

Information on how to do so is on the American Decency Association website. It was this same kind of pressure that previously convinced Abercrombie & Fitch to stop producing its pornographic catalogue.

And here's my comment:

Keep writing to them as much as you like, it will only work the opposite way. Abercrombie targets teens and college students. Opposition from 'the establishment' will only make Abercrombie more attractive to them.

I'm shocked they didn't censor me!

State of the day: Louisiana

For the second installment of my new State Of The Day feature, we're travelling to Louisiana, also known as the Bayou State. Here are my three favourite things:

1) New Orleans (pictured above) must be on of the most beautiful cities in all of the United States. Although it has been hit hard by Hurricane Katrina, the French Quarter area still brings something unique to this most European kind of city in all of America. New Orleans is a center of culture and cuisine, and is high on my wish lists of places in the United States I would most like to visit.

2) Jazz music. Lousiana is one of the top jazz states in America, and although I don't listen to it as much as I should, I really enjoy the style. It would be great to go to a real jazz club and listen to it the way it's supposed to.

3) Lousiana has a unique form of wilderniss, made of wetlands and swamps. You can travel through them by boat and explore them, and discover all the unique animals living in them.

This is part 2 out of a series of 50, next stop tomorrow: Rhode Island.

Time for a new poll! This week, let me know who's your favourite member of Take That! Choose between Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Howard Donald or Mark Owen. Voting's on!

What happens in Vegas

Rumor has it that Beyonce has accepted a long-term deal at the Wynn in Las Vegas and that she'll be receiving $750,000 per show. While this may sound like a lot of money (and it is), it doesn't sound like such a smart idea to be starting a Vegas career so young. Usually, Vegas is the place artists go to when their regular touring days arre over. I'd say Beyonce's days are far from over, so why would she make such a stupid move?

Let's hope it's just a rumor.

Fruit fight

During the book signing for her autobiographical story at the Mall of America in Minnesota on Monday, someone in the audience threw tomatoes at Sarah Palin! The man who threw them, missed Sarah's face, but hit a police officer instead. After that, he was arrested for assault and disorderly conduct.

Too bad he missed that stupid bitch! She shouldn't be on a book tour at all, as she left her job as governor of Alaska early. What on earth was she thinking when she was racing for vice-president...

Strictly cleaning up

Lily Allen will perform her single Not Fair on next week's episode of TV show Strictly Come Dancing, but she has to tone down the lyrics to be able to sing it. Strictly Come Dancing is a family show, and Lily's lyrics are anything but family friendly, so she needs to censor herself to be able to perform.

When it comes to Not Fair, that means she basically has to leave out the entire song... I wonder what she's planning to do with it. Is the show live on television? In that case, the producers might get themselves an unpleasant surprise!

Happy honeymoon

Mark Owen and his newlywed wife Emma are on honeymoon in Thailand, but of course they couldn't run away from the paparazzi, so here's a nice picture of the happy couple!
