Memories of 2005

It;s the last working day of the year, tomorrow we'll be celebrating New Year's Eve. When I look back at this past year, I can only say it has been great! Got a new job, went to London once again, saw great concerts by Kylie, Tori, Garbage and U2 and met some great new people.
The only thing that's missing somewhat is a boyfriend, but to be honest, I don't really care about it.

I used to think that having a boyfriend was a necessity for happiness, but in the end, it turns out not to be true. I'm really happy as it is, and hope to stay that way in 2006!

Happy new year everyone!

Jingle all the way

Had a great Christmas! Spend Christmas Day at my parents', which was very nice, with my brother and his girlfriend, and my sister, brother in law and nephew present as well. Had loads of great food and generally had a great day. In the evening we watched Bridget Jones' Diary on television, and I think it is the perfect Christmas movie. All in all, a great way to spend Christmas Day!

On Boxing Day, which was today, I had dinner with friends, which was also very nice. Played games after dinner and had a great evening as well. Too bad I have to go back to work tomorrow, so I couldn't join them for a night on the town. Oh well, there's bread to win and bills to pay...

Hope everyone had great holidays!

It's Christmas time

Well, almost it is, but it sorta feels like christmas already. The whole city is decorated as some sort of winter wonderland, and I'm having a nice work function this afternoon to celebrate the holidays. Funny, this is the first year I'm actually looking forward to christmas. Normally I like the build-up to it, but the two days themselves are not my favourite of the year (probably because of the absence of a boyfriend that's bugging me this time of the year).

This year, it's different: I'm going to spend Christmas Day at my parents'house, and Boxing Day with a couple of friends, where we all cook one part of the big dinner. Looking forward to that very much!

I wish everyone happy holidays!

Blue sky

So it's been a good week! Problems at work seem to be solved and I'm feeling a lot better about it now. Work problems can really mess you up and even turn your weekend into disaster, but all that's behind me now.
Immediately, this has worked its way into other area's of my life, making me one happy camper again!

Yesterday I bought myself this really cool Tommy Hilfiger sweater and I'm super happy with it. I can be a bit of a child in a chocolate factory about clothes, so as you can imagine this made my day! I'm totally into brands nowadays (which basically means: now I can finally afford them), I know it's basically just stupid, but what the hell...

Anyway, playing the couch potato tonight, so I have to re-install myself in front of the television. Have a good evening everyone!

All I want for Christmas

Long days at work... and it's only tuesday. I don't know, I'm not really into it this week, wish it was Christmas already so that I would have some days off. Or even better: a real vacation. Can you believe the only vacation I had for this entire year was three days in London? I want to go to the beach...

Well whine whine, let me shut up and go back to work.

Cut short

It's sunday again and I'm getting ready to go visit my mum, who is celebrating her birthday today. I should have gone a couple of hours ago, but of course, I over-slept. Fortunately it's not a very long train ride, so I can make it there in just an hour.

Last thursday, as you probbly know, was the premiere showing of Madonna's new tour documentary I'm Going To Tell You A Secret on Dutch tv. I was so hoping to be in it, cause I was interviewed in Paris for it, but unfortunately, they cut me out. :-( Still, it was a very good movie, showing a new, kinder Madonna. The live footage was great as well, although they did cut every song -except for American Life- short. Thank God for bootleg DVDs, and of course there will still be an official release for the final show in Lisbon, but when that's going to happen....

Anyway, I'm off....

Holiday, celebration, come together in every nation

Felt a bit fucked up today. I spent last night at my parent's house and got so totally allergic with the cats, that I didn't manage to get more than 2 hours of sleep. As you can imagine, that's not a good way to start a work week.Still, I managed to get a lot of work done, but I'm pretty exhausted right now.

Tonight two of my friends come over to watch Kylie ShowGirl on my new DVD. Even the straight guys fall over themselves to see Kylie nowadays. As somone once put it, the straight guys want to date her, the gay guys want to be her, haha!

Tomorrow is anotherday of hard work, and then I'm having two days off (seems like I'm only on holiday these days). Friday me and my boss have to visit Hoofddorp (near Amsterdam) to talk to the accountmanagers. Pretty easy week as it looks like now, but things can always change.

Time for a quick dinner now, love to you all!

A night on the town

After spending some time on the couch (mostly watching the amazing new Kylie DVD 'ShowGirl, the Greatest Hits Tour', I'm back in the sadle and ready to go clubbing. Well, in about 3 hours, that is. I'm going to have a drink with my friend Tom, and then off for a night on the town. Looking forward to it very much! Can't get too hung over tomorrow, cause I'm planning on paying my parents a visit, and it would be a bit rude to come over totally wasted.

So, I've been watching the ShowGirl DVD, which is fantastic, since I've actually seen the show. Unfortunately not the one featured on the disc (Earls Court Arena London, while I was at the Ahoy' SportPaleis show in Rotterdam), but still, since the show is the same everyday, it doesn't really matter where it's filmed. I was in row 1 though in Rotterdam, so if they would have filmed it there, you could have probably see me in it.

So anyway, got to go and fix my hair, and then crack open the bottle!

Something interesting?

Unbelievable how fast the weekend can go. It's sunday evening now and tomorrow the new week already begins. Fortunately enough it's gonna be a short week for me, since I'm having a day off on friday.

Yesterday I went to get my hair cut and had a birthday party that evening. After that we went clubbing, which was nice.

Today I went swimming, and maybe I'm going to have a drink with some friends tonight. Pretty standard weekend stuff as you can see.

Well, nothing much to write about, so I'll check back when I do have something interesting (or not) to say!

Are you ready to jump, get ready to jump

I just realised I'm giving most of posts Madonna-related titles, even though they're not even about Madonna. This one's no exception.... The title is actually about the fact that the weekend is coming up, and I'm looking totally forward to it!

Having party's all weekend long, and go swimming on Sunday, so I don't have to feel bad about doing unhealthy things hehe.

Today was a bit of a long day at work, and I came off kinda pissed off, but I'm feeling a lot better right now. Just watched Pretty Woman, which was on telly for the 35445th time this year. Even though I actually hate Julia Roberts (for no particular reason), I still love this one, especially the phrase 'everbody comes to Hollywood with a dream, what's your dream?' I like Hollywood.... (must have something to do with being gay, loving glamourous things hehehe.

Anyway, time for bed now, so good night, and have a good weekend!

A bit sad

I'm a bit sad today. Last saturday, I had this wonderfull lunch date with a great guy, that I really liked. I was kinda hoping he'd feel te same way, but as it turns out, he doesn't.

Just got an e-mail from him, in which he explains that he really likes me etcetera etcetera, but that's about it. So we just stay friends, which is cool as well, but not exactly what I'd hoped for. This seems to be a bit the story of my life. People like me, but they never really go totally crazy for me. Well, that's not really true actually, it's just that it hasn't happened for a while now, so now I'm swallowing in self-pity.

Well, just have to work hard today, and get my mind of things...

50 years of Unicef

Yesterday my work organised a fundraising for the 50 years of Unicef anniversary. The goal was to send 90.000 girls from Afghanistan to school. We actually raised enough money to send no less than 131.000 to school! Even though this meant I had to work for 13,5 hours and be at the office at 9 AM again, these fantastic results were worth it!

So now I'm a bit tired and have loads of hours of work to go. Tonight I'm having a dinner party with my co-workers, so that's something to look forward to....

Freedom in 15 minutes

Well it's half week now since I've bought Confessions On A Dance Floor and it's still amazing. Madonna has never sounded better and the whole album has this brilliant 'I wanna go to a club' feeling. Happy happy happy!

I'm still at work right now, but off in about 15 minutes. Tomorrow we're going to do a big TV Show for Unicef, so it's a 12 hour workday tomorrow for me. Oh my God.... that sounds even longer when you write it down. But anyway, it's for a good cause so I guess it's not such a big deal.

Then friday night I'm going out for dinner with my colleages, looking forward to that very much!

Have a nice evening everyone!

(especially for Rijntje, I'm putting the right time in this post)

Absolutely amazing

This morning Confessions on a Dance Floor was finally released! Naturally Annelies and I were at the record store the minute it opened so now I'm the proud owner of a copy of the best record of the year!

Time goes by so slowly for those who wait

One day to go and then finally I can buy Confessions On A Dance Floor! I'm so totally excited now that I've heard they album. It's absolutely amazing. Club hit AND radio hit all in one. Tomorrow afternoon I'm gonna go bartending and play it all day long!

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying two days off from work. Doing basically nothing, except for a party tonight. I'm having shitloads of days off currently, since I didn't get to spend much vacation this summer. Long weekends ahead for me!

Anyway, I urge you all to go and buy the album tomorrow and make this Madonna her biggest hit album yet!

Time goes by so slowly for those who wait.... no time to hesitate!

Crazy for her

Remember how I promised not to turn this blog in to another Madonna website? Well, I still intend to stick with that promise, but there's no escaping this month really.
Just recieved news that Hung Up went straight to number one in Holland (where I live). And not only's going to reach the top notch all over the world. HMV Records in London (the largest record store in the world) were, as a representative told the press, selling enormous amounts of copies. Keep up the good work!
Also, this week is countdown week for Confessions on a Dance Floor, so there's loads of exciting things to come. I've been a naughty boy yesterday and listened to a couple of illegal downloads of I Love New York, Future Lovers and Jump. Oh my!!!

It's a good time to be a Madonna-fan. I promise that, after this month, I will shut up about her for at least a week. I'm sure I can do that.....right? :-)

Thursday, November 03, 2005

Tonight is the night for the MTV Europe Music Awards (9 pm CET). As we all know, Madonna will be the opening act, performing Hung Up live for the very first time! She'll enter the stage inside a giant discoball. I can't wait to see, and hear it!
Before that though, I'm working. Hoping to get off at 5 but not sure if that will work out...

Have a good day everyone!

The art of being lazy

As a welcome diversion from my normal way of spending an evening, I'm doing absolutely nothing tonight. Watched Sex and the City, Friends, CSI.... generally being a lazy bastard with a huge bowl of popcorn and loads of ice tea. Normally I'm not really into spending an evening alone, but tonight, I kinda like it.

Well... Joey's on, so I haveto go back to my couch :-)

End of season

Yesterday, Dirk, David, Anneke en me went to De Efteling, the largest theme park of the Netherlands, every bit on a par with Disneyland. We had a fantastic sunny day, with not much of any lines. I almost threw over in De Halve Maen, which is a huge ship that rocks back and forth. Not such a good idea for me...

Theme park season is now over, unfortunately. I wish the parks would stay open during the winter, but Holland they don't. Now I have to go to theme park rehab haha.

Fortunately though, the video for Hung Up has been released and is being played over and over again, so that's something to keep me busy. Also, next thursday it's MTV European Music Awards day! Can't wait!

Friday, October 28, 2005

Disco fever

On november 3th, the annual MTV European Music Awards will take place in the Atlantic Arena Lisbon (yes, the stadium where the final Re-Invention show took place). Madonna will open the show, entering in an enormous disco glitterball decending from the ceiling. It's gonna be a huge party, and MTV has issued a sweepstake to win tickets AND a meet and greet. Needless to say, I'm entering like hell, in a desperate attempt to win tickets. 800 entries and counting....

Had a great evening after a particularly hard day at work. Well, not really a hard day, but a long day nevertheless! Anyway, after work, I went for a drink with one of my best friends,Anneke. After that, we went out for a dinner and went to the movies.

We saw Crash, starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Phillipe, which I can recommend to all! We were actually planning on seeing Bewitched, but it turned out thuesday was the only day of the week that it didn't play in Groningen. Bummer! Not too bad though, cause Crash was a good movie that I would probably have never seen if it weren't for a lack of other desirable movies.

Have to go to sleep now... another day of working is lying just around the corner.

Thank you, Goodnight!

What we did last weekend

Had a good weekend! Went to Walibi World for the 7865875432d time this year. My cell phone got launched out of one of the cars from Goliath, a 46 meter tall megacoaster and actually survived it. Thumbs up for Korean products (it's a Samsung). Aside from that, it was a very nice day.

After my visit to Walibi I went to my parent's house in Leeuwarden, and had a good time there. Sunday evening I went to see my ex-boyfriend, who lives in Leeuwarden.

Oh and did I forget to mention I quit my fraternity? And now it seems like I'm being replaced by my ex-boyfriend (not the one that lives in Leeuwarden). Hm...oh well... :-)

Thursday, October 20, 2005

The past two days I was free from work, which was a lot of fun. Bought a new winter coat and went partying. Today I was bartending at my former students club, but I was totally hung-over, so it wasn't a great experience hehe. Still, I managed to play Hung Up over ten times, so I did my part in promoting the single!

Tomorrow is friday, and I have to go back to work for a day. Well, work isn't exactly the right word. I'm having a training day with a couple of co-workers, so I'm looking forward to that!

Then saturday it's off to Walibi World again, because this is the last week the park is open this season. Looking forward to that big time!

Tuesday, October 18, 2005

Madonna madness has started and I'm loving it! Contests to win tickets to the MTV European Music Awards, radio airplay that's going beserk, the new documentury 'I'm Going To Tell You A Secret' that's coming up next week.... it's going to be an exciting month, and the album hasn't even been released yet.

I am sooooo hoping to win tickets for the EMA's. There's even a contest to win tickets AND a meet and greet with the lady herself. I'd like to think I deserve to win those tickets, being a fan for 22 years now.

Besides that, Madonna has talked about the tour this week, really hope that's coming through! Finally: the video for Hung Up (what I've seen of it) is absolutely smashing! It has been filmed at this huge entertainment center near Piccadilly Circus (in London). I was there just two months ago, so it's awesome to see that site in a Madonna video.

Anyway, back to work and stop raving...

Monday, October 17, 2005

I'm hung up... I'm hung up on you

I guess I was one of the few people on this planet who actually waited for the official premiere of Hung Up, Madonna's new single. Practically everyone I know downloaded it illegally, but I waited patiently, and it paid off!
Today the single had its first airplay on Dutch radio stations, and I have to say it's absolutely brilliant! Smashing beat, great Abba sample, perfect! This is gonna be a huge hit, that's for sure!

What else happened this week? Well, I had a great weekend of partying ans swimming. Basically that's what I do every weekend, but I just can't seem to get enough of it. Swimming is a lot more fun now that I've got myself a tattoo. People are actually staring at it, which is something I like a lot hehe.

Next wednesday and thursday I'm taking days off from work, so that I can go and visit my parents. Looking forward to that! Furthermore, I'm trying to win tickets to see Madonna's promo-tour at G-A-Y, a great danceclub in London. Keeping fingers crossed!

Monday, October 10, 2005

Don't stop till you've had enough

What a weekend it was... Started on thursday, since I had two days off from work. So thursday afternoon I went barkeeping, which was nice. That evening I went partying myself and stayed up way too late.

But never mind, cause friday was another day off. Went shopping and had some friends over for the evening. Then saturday there was a record fair in my hometown, so I bought two new Madonna bootlegs. After that, I went for a drink with David, Dirk and Anneke. That evening we went out clubbing and stayed up for way way way too long hehehe.

Sunday I had to to something more healthy, which was swimming. After that, I was basically exhausted, so I spend the evening on the couch.

Good weekend! Hope it's gonna be a good week as well!

Monday, October 03, 2005

Into the groove

Had a wonderful weekend! After I got my tattoo done on friday afternoon, I went and had a drink with a couple of friends. That evening I went to a housewarming party and early to bed.

Saturday I went shopping, bought a really cool pair of Hugo Boss shoes... loving them! In the evening I went to a birthday party and then clubbing. As usually we stayed way too long, so I went to bed somewhere around 8 AM. On sunday I visited my father in the hospital and then went to my mother's house to eat there and stay over.

Today obviosuly I had to work, but it's going to be a particular short week, since I'm taking both thursday and friday off. I've got three weeks of vacation to use, but I don't know when, so I'll just split it up or something.

Anyway, a happy weekend!

Tattoo thrilled

So I did it!!! I've got a tattoo finally!!! For the rest of my life, the phrase 'Re-Invent Yourself' will be on my right upper-arm! I couldn't be more thrilled!!!!

Thursday, September 29, 2005

Put the needle on it

It's great to come up with silly puns as titles! So tomorrow's the big day when I'm getting my tattoo done! I'm leaving work at 3 PM for my 4 PM appointment. I have to drink apple juice beforehand, because it supposedly makes your blood thicker or something like that. Doesn't that sound like fun?

I'm really worried that's it's gonna hurt fucking big time, but I'm putting myself through this so I'll just have to do it. Hopefully tomorrow night I will look back at it like 'oh what the hell was I worrying about'.

Tonight I'm going shopping, to sort of get my mind of things.... I hope it works!

Monday, September 26, 2005

Getting ink done

Finally, after a year of thinking about it, I'm going to get a tattoo this week. The phrase 'Re-Invent Yourself' will decorate my right upper arm as of next week. I think it's a bit scary 'cause I'm getting mixed messages from people, as to how much it hurts. My brother's got a tattoo on his arm as well, and he says it doesn't hurt at all, but at a party last saturday people were telling me it can actually hurt as hell. Scary!

I guess I'll just have to go wait and see (feel, actually). Wish me luck!

No commercial replies

As a result of some stupid dial-up porn site advertisement I'd like to state that I don't want any commercial replies on my site. Posting them will lead to being deleted.

Confessions on a Dancefloor

Okay so I admit, this title is actually a plug for the new Madonna album...

So what have I been up to. Well for you guys who have read my blog before I censored it, I actually feel kind of happy now. Not really for some particularly reason, but just a sense of, I don't know, relief? Relief in a sense that I'm just being happy with Holland. It doesn't make me don't care about what's happening in S*n*ap*re (doesn't this seem like Call TV...) so if you're reading this (you know who you are): I hope you're doing very well, and actually I'm hoping to hear from you...

Really busy at work, and enjoying it very much. Tomorrow is a day off, to celebrate my best friend's graduating from college. That calls for a holiday, of which I have plenty left now that I didn't go to Paris. Things are going steady, and I hope they will be in the near future, so I wish you all a good week, and hope you'll visit again soon!

Friday, September 16, 2005

It was the best of times...

Had a nice week. A lot of working, but it was nice at the office, so that wasn't a problem. I'm actually still at work as I'm writing this. During the evenings I had plans for every single day. Seen loads of friends, and tonight's no exception. I'm visiting one of my best friends, who just started his new job, so that will give us something to talk about!

Tomorrow I'm having lunch with Anneke, a good friend I know for like 13 years now. After that, I'm going shopping and spending way too much money (looking forward to that already). Don't know what I'm going to do saturday night, but I'm sure something will come up. Then on sunday I'm celebrating my brother's birthday, after which the weekend is over.

Sounds kinda exhausting after this long work week now that I'm actually typing it down hehe. Should be fun though!

Monday, September 12, 2005

A rollercoaster weekend

Weekend's over, and it was a lot of fun! Went clubbing saturday night (was on a date actually, but can't say anything about it -yet-) and visited Walibi World again on sunday. Walibi World is a large theme park in Holland, for which I have a season's pass.

Rijntje told me to write something, on what's she calls 'my sitcom', but there's not really much to say about saturday (again -yet-) and we all know how I feel about Walibi World. So Rijntje, give me some topics!!

Monday, September 05, 2005

House hunting

It was a loooooong day at work today.... probably because again it was so fucking hot that sweated my ass off all day long. It was a fun day though, and me and my boss went for a walk in the sun during lunch break.

Tonight I'm going to have a drink with Anneke. She had her first day at her new job today, so that's something to talk about! Good thing about the weather is that we can have a drink outdoors. That way I will be able to take at least some advantage of the heat, instead of it just being a pain in the ass.

Also, I have decided to go looking for a new place. I still live in my student house, and getting pretty bored with it. The only problem is that there's a huge amount of people having that same idea in Groningen, so it coul take a while. Updates will be posted as soon as they're there!

Sunday, September 04, 2005

Fun in the sun

Saturday was a good day! I went to get my hair cut, so now it's a fresh look for me! After that, I went shopping and bought 4 DVDs and a CD. Dirk and I went for a drink in the sun, and David came along. Actually, it turned out to be more than a couple of drinks, but who cares.... it was saturday.

In the evening Niels (a good friend of mine) came over and brought me a present: yet another CD! We had some wine and watched Absolutely Fabulous, which was a hoot. After that, the weirdest thing happened: I didn't want to go clubbing because I was too tired. I was shocked hehehe!

The good thing about this is that it's sunday now and I'm feeling fine, so I'm going swimming this afternoon. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Saturday, September 03, 2005

Things got better

So the weather has changed and now I'm feeling fine! Had a work function last thursday, which was nice. Yesterday I went home early so I could take a jump start on celebrating my weekend. Had some friends over yesterday to watch some DVDs and had a good evening.

Now, I'm going to get my hair cut, which is something I've been looking forward to the entire week! So, my whining days are over, and I'm actually quite happy!

Thursday, September 01, 2005

Some like it hot

...but I don't! Today it was even warmer than yesterday and I had to work for nine hours. Work, again, turned into an oven so we had to take some walks and long ciggy-breaks to hold on. I had to wite a training today for a new agent that's joining us tomorrow. It's a fun thing to do actually, but when you're sweating your ass off, nothing's a fun thing to do basically.

After work, I went for two beers with some friends, which was fun. Now I'm back at home and it's still hot. God, I hope it gets better tomorrow. I've heard that we'll have bad weather this weekend and can you believe I'm actually looking forward to it?

Monday, August 29, 2005

Summer breeze

Great. This whole weekend there wasn't much to cheer about weather-wise, and now that I have to work summer is finally kicking in. That means no swimming and feeling like the office has turned into an oven. It was actually so hot it made a lot of people turn a bit dizzy and it gave me a serious headache.

Then I got home, and compared to work it seemed more like the middle of a nuclear explosion in my living room. Unbelievable how fucking hot my room can become. I drank an entire bottle of iced tea in about 10 minutes, and still I'm sweating like I've just done the marathon....twice! So I figured I'd just close the curtains, but that makes it a bit depressingly dark in here. Guess there is nothing more to do then be a couch-potato this evening, and then early to bed. Grr.... I hate doing nothing... Hopefully it will be a bit cooler tomorrow, but for what I've heard on the weather report, that's a fat chance.

(By the way, it seems as if I'm using this blog for nothing else but whining, but better times are on their way, I promise!)

Weekend life

Now that I didn't go to Paris this weekend (which I'm still sad about), I had to find some other ways to keep myself busy. Friday was my day off from work, since I planned to use it as a travel day, so I went to visit my parents, which was nice. I stayed at my mom's until saturday afternoon, and then headed back.

Saterday night a friend of mine came over for a glass of wine (well, a bit more glasses actually hehe) after which we went out clubbing. We had a good time, although we were a bit tired, so we didn't stay very long. It was very busy though, since it was a local holiday yesterday.

Now it's sunday and I've spent most of the day watching stupid call tv. Tonight I'm going to have a drink, and then the weekend is over already...

Friday, August 26, 2005

Goodbye to Paris

I'm not in Paris.... boohoo. There has been a fire in BP's Singapore office and Ryan had to go there, so we couldn't go on holiday.... I'm really really really sad right now... We have to reschedule until somewhere late september or even october. Feel like crying now.... I need a hug!

Monday, August 22, 2005

A Dutch guy in Paris

So I'm off to Paris in only a couple of days. Looking forward to it big time. The only thing is.... I don't speak French. I can manage 'oui' and 'non' but that's about it really. So I bought myself this Holiday Travel Guide-kinda thing, which has the basic translations for a vacation in it. I cannot even pronounce it hahaha. It will be a point-and-tell situation for the entire weekend, and I'm sure the French will think I'm a bit pathetic.

Anyway, besides this, I want this week to be over, so that it's friday and I'm on my way on the Thalys!!!

Friday, August 19, 2005

Hangover from hell

Last night I went to a work function, organised for a colleague who's leaving for Amsterdam and got to-tal-ly pissed. Well it wasn't just me, actually we all did (especially my boss and me), even though we had to go to work this morning at 9 AM. That wasn't such a good idea.... While I'm still supposed to be at work while I'm writing this, I'm actually at home suffering the worst hangover ever and feeling really sorry for myself. What a way to start the weekend. I felt like total shit at work and couldn't get anything done, so I guess it was the right choice to go home, but still, I don't like doing that.

So now the weekend's started and I'm feeling sick. Poor poor poor me (some sympathy would be welcome hehe). I hope I will feel a bit more like a human by tonight. Or maybe I'll just go lay on the couch and try to get some sleep.

Anyway, everyone have a good weekend!

A new day has come

Tomorrow is the first day of this years KEI-week, the introduction week for freshmen students in Groningen (which is where I live). For the past couple of years this has always been kind of a big deal to me, that consumed my entire week. This year, for the first time, I'll just be working and taking just a little of it in over the weekend by bartending two times.

Even though it's already been seven years, it still feels like a very short time ago when I actually was a first years' student and saw the KEI-week from the other side. It felt scary, living by yourself in a new city, with new people and a new life. I remember feeling really grown-up just because I wasn't living with my parents anymore, while actually you're just a little kid that's left in the playground on it's own for the first time. Weekends were a time to go back to your hometown and stay with your parents. So much for independance...

During the course of years, as you grow older, it loses a little of its charm, and now I can't really be bothered anymore to do anything for the new students with their new student lifes, that I'm no longer a part of. It's sad really, how a former highlight of the year can turn into something so unimportant. But hey, maybe it's gonna be a total blast and an exhausted Theo will be raving on what a fun week he had in seven days. You never know, right?

I don't like mondays

So it's monday today, and like most people, I always find it very hard to get the week started. Had to go to work today after a funfilled weekend of partying. Well actually, not just partying. Sunday afternoon I went swimming, so now I can say I actually did something usefull this weekend. Swimming is quite good if you smoke as many cigarettes as I do, since A) you're working out and B) you can't have a smoke in the water. Well, you can actually, but it's not easy...

So today it was back to work and it wasn't even that hard. Good thing I stayed at home last night and resisted the temptations of having a drink with some friends. Tonight though, I don't have a choice, 'cause it's Madonna's 47th birthday tomorrow, and of course that calls for a toast at 12 o' clock. Guess we're gonna have one of our DVD marathon sessions while praising Madonna and acting like total fools. Oh well....

Only a week and a half to go until I'm off to Paris for a weekend, with a rather cute Englishman. Can't wait, even though I've just been on holiday, going away for weekends is some kind of addiction I suppose.

Well, enough nonsense... dinner time! See you all soon!

Welcome to my new blog, which I created due to the fact that my old one was only about Madonna, and I felt like writing about different things as well. You can though, still visit the old one at if you're up for an obsessive amount of Madonna!
This new blog will be about me (loving to be the center of the universe) and will be updated regularly. So please come and visit me now and again, and feel free to post comments (in English please, as I'm trying to make it readable for everyone). Thanks!
