Madonna in Paris

I just got back from my second Confessions Tour show in the palais Omnisport Paris (Bercy) and it was even better than the previous one in Hannover. As with every Madonna tour, the Paris crowd is the absolute top notch! Despite all the pushing, shoving and waiting in line for what seems to be forever, you just can't top them!
We succesfully boo-ed off the NRJ Radio Mastermix, by singing 'time goes by so slowy' all through their setlst, after which the Queen finaly came on stage. The crowd went absolutely wild and Madonna seemed to be in a top mood, despite having several technical difficultie all through the show. Her speeches were about the same as they were during the first two shows in Bercy, only this time she carwaled around on the catwalk, making us scream 'We want peace, fuck George Bush'.
And then the big thing happened: during Let It Will Be, Madonna touched my hand!!! oh my God...'I was hoping for the entire evening for this to happen, since I had a perfect location at the beginning of the central catwalk, right near the main stage, and she did! As you can imagine, I'm one happy camper right now!
Anyway, he show was perfect, and I can't wait for next Sunday and Monday, when Confessions will hit the Amsterdam ArenA!

Two weeks off

The first week of my three week holiday went by alarmingly fast, not in the least because of the fantastic Madonna Confessions Tour concert last Thuesday, in the AWD Arena in Hannover. Fortunately, I'm looking forward to a great weekend, since E. is coming over tonight. We're probably just going to watch a movie, but just being with him makes me happy as it is. Tomorrow we're going to visit my parents in Leeuwarden, which I also hope will be a great day. After that, we're going to Breda where I will spend two weeks in between shows in Paris and Amsterdam. So all in all, it's going to be a nice time coming up!

The fact that I won't be at home, specifically around my own computer, could also mean I won't be posting that much during this next couple of two weeks, so please bare with me as I will be coming back to update you all on how it went. Two weeks non stop with my boyfriend sounds like a great deal of fun, so I guess there will be a lot to update about after that.

For now, I wish you all a great weekend, and hope to see you soon!

Winter coat

Here's a fantastic picture of Madonna wearing her famous winter coat for the very first time on stage, thuesday night in Hannover, during Drowned World. I was one of the lucky fans to be front row during this amazing show, and I'm still so fucking excited about it!

Madonna in Hannover

I just got back from my first of 4 Confession shows in Hannover, Germany, and I can only describe the show as UNBELIEVABLE. I thought nothing could ever top Re-Invention, but boy did she top it! From the moment the giant discoball opened and revealed our Queen, it was a non stop rush and I just couldn't stop dancing!
After waiting for 24 hours in line, my friend Annelies and I made a mad dash inside the AWD Arena (which is, by the way, a gigantic stadium) and made it to front row at the corner of the central catwalk and the center stage. A great place to see the show, since the end of the catwalk prevents you from seeing the main stage, as it is much higher than it was during the North American leg of the tour. From our position, we were able to see everything very clearly.
Madonna almost fell during Jump, so we were a little worried this might affect her mood that night, but fortunately it didn't. She was in great spirit all night long, and quite talkative. She said 'Mijne Dames und Herren, thank you for coming to our show' before Jump, and asked us to say 'Fuck you' and 'Fuck George Bush' between Let it Will Be and Drowned World.
After the fantastic La Isla Bonita (during which Cloud smiled at me, he's gorgeous!!!), she told us to shake things up, after which the breathtaking final of Lucky Star and Hung Up started. During Hung Up, I was able to catch a balloon, so imagine my happiness!
All in all, it was a fantastic show, and I can't wait for Paris and Amsterdam (both shows!)

Dutch controversy

Dutch Christian conservative party SGP has asked minister of Justice mister Donner for a censorship on the crucifixation during Madonna's two shows in the Amsterdam ArenA on september 3th and 4th. They call the scene blasphemous and demand it to be taken out of the show. Government officials say the cannot forbid they act beforehand, but can take actions after the show. The news is all over the newspapers in the Netherlands today. Isn't it great how Madonna is still so good in causing controversy?

Good things happening

Since yesterday, my boyfriend is back from his holiday in Austria, so naturally we spend almost the entire evening on the phone together. I can't wait for Friday, when I see him again, cause I've really missed him so unbelievably much. I haven't seen him for two weeks now, so it's about time too!

I'm going to be with him from Friday till Monday, after which I'll go to Arnhem, where Annelies will pick me up on the way to Hannover, to see our first Confessions Tour show (by Madonna of course). I'm having three weeks off for these shows, and will spend most of my time in between with E., so it's going to be a great time no doubt!

Then tonight, I'm having a dinner party with my co-workers, so that promises to be a good evening as well!.

Crucify her

I read this article on CNN and found it rather amusing:

BERLIN, Germany (AP) -- Prosecutors plan to keep an eye on Madonna's weekend concert in Duesseldorf to see if the pop diva repeats the mock crucifixion scene that has drawn fire from religious leaders.
Johannes Mocken, a spokesman for prosecutors in Duesseldorf, said Tuesday that a repeat of that scene during Sunday's concert could be construed as insulting religious beliefs.
Madonna, who is known for her theatrical, action-packed shows, wears a crown of fake thorns while performing on a mirrored cross.
The stunt, which has been included from the outset of her worldwide "Confessions" tour, has been criticized as an act of hostility toward the Roman Catholic Church.
Representatives for the singer, who will be 48 on Wednesday, have said the scene is not disrespectful toward the church.
Mocken said authorities would rely on media reports rather than sending observers to the concert and that the show might be covered by laws protecting artistic freedoms.
Earlier this month, religious leaders in Rome condemned the concert stunt.
Some 70,000 fans attended Madonna's performance at Olympic Stadium, some two miles from the Vatican.

Calls from abroad

Sometimes it's hard to imagine E. and I have only been together for 2.5 months yet. As you know, he's still in Austria with his brother (coming back tomorrow) and he still calls me every day. He even called me this morning at 9 AM, when I was just about to get started with my job. Isn't that sweet? It's such a great thing to know there's someone thinking of you, even though he's in another country right now.

Besides that, I'm having a pretty good they at work. I'm doing job interviews with candidates all day long this week, which is a a nice diversion from my normal tasks. Makes the time goes by real soon as well!

Just got another call from E. He doesn't seem to realise I'm at work. Oh well, it's always a good thing hearing from him!

How to spend a weekend without your boyfriend

So this has been the first weekend I had to spend without my boyfriend, since he's still on holiday with his brother. I miss him terribly, but the good thing is he calls me every day from Austria, and sometimes even several times per day. Thank God for cell phones, the greatest invention of all times!

As a result of him not being around, I had to find other ways to keep myself busy, which I managed pretty well. Friday night I went to Sjeed for a couple of beers, after which we hit the town. I got really loaded and had a great time. Saturday afternoon me and Anneke and Dirk had a drink, which was nice as well. Saturday evening Niels and Michael came over to my place. We were supposed to go out afterwards but I guess I'm growing old, cause I wasn't really into it, so I decided to stay at home and went to bed quite early for a Saturday evening. I guess I'm not really into clubbing anymore without E.

The good thing about going to bed early on Saturday, is that you don't have to spend the entire Sunday in bed. So what I did was, I went to my parents. The weather was great, so we spend the afternoon in my mum's garden. Sunday evening we watched Deep Blue Sea and Shrek 2, so it was a fun day.

Now it's back to work, for just one week. E. is coming back on Wednesday, so I'll be seeing him on Friday. Can't wait!!!

Bright and shiny

I had a good day yesterday! After work, I got a text message from Remco asking me to go for a drink with some friends, which I did. In fact, we had quite some drinks and had a good time. During this function, my boyfriend called me again from Austria, which of course made me very happy. He told me it's such a nice place where he is, that we need to visit it as well. I've never been to Austria, so this sounds like a very good idea to me!

When I got home I watched a bit of Madonna and then went to Cleopatra for some more drinks. Luckily I managed to get home in time, so I'm back at work now, bright and shiny!

I have to work until 6 today... so much for getting a jump start on the weekend. Oh well, I'm expected at Sjeed's house tonight, so there's something to look forward to.

12 days to go

I feel love

Yesterday, while I was watching my fabulous new Confessions Tour bootleg dvd from Fresno California, my boyfriend called me twice from Austria, and then later on got online on MSN to chat with me. How great is that, he's on holiday and thinks about me all the time. I truly feel blessed with him, and very often I wonder how the fuck I deserve him. It's been only 2.5 months since I've met him, but I can honoustly say I can't imagine my life without him anymore.

The thing is, even though he's not around right now, it's such a fantastic feeling knowing that he exists and that he loves me, for me. It's been a long time (3 years, to be exact) since I've had that, so it can be a bit overwhelming every now and then, but overwhelming in a good way. Sometimes I really need to take a pause to just let it sink in. To actually believe that this wonderful, fantastic guy loves me and wants to be with me is just too hard to imagine at times.

So, even though this may come off as a bit of a sentimental blog entry, I just want to shout it out:

Die bitch, die!

My my, yesterday evening I've watched what I think is one of the worst movies of all time, called House of Wax, starring (for the lack of a better term) Paris Hilton. My co-worker Ziena and I decided some time ago we really needed to see this one, and honesty expects me to say that we weren't actually thinking this would be a good movie, but nothing could have prepared us for the monstrous popcorn flick it turned out to be. I guess I should have known better, since E. already warned me, but knowing me, of course I had to see it for myself. The only good part of the entire movie was when Paris Hilton died in quite a gruesome way, but that scene in no way justifies having to sit through two hours of torture (no pun intended).

Despite the movie, we had a fun night. Ziena is definitely not just any co-worker; I consider her oneof my best friends, and I always enjoy hanging out with her. Her boyfriend is taking an internship, forcing him to live someplace else and being around only during the weekends, so on weekdays it's quite easy to meet up with her.

Speaking of boyfriends being away, mine is in Austria right now, spending a week on holiday with his brother. I could have gone with them, but it would just be too expensive with the Madonna shows coming up in just two weeks, so I decided to just stay at home, causing me to miss him like hell now, even though he's only been gone for a day. I wonder how I'll feel at the end of this week... I sure know I'll hug him to death when he gets back!

Happy holiday

As I promised yesterday, I'm going to tell you guys a little about my wonderfull vacation to Valkenburg today. For those of you that are not from Holland: Valkenburg is a small lovely village in the very south of the Netherlands, known for it's caves and mines. It's very tourist-ish nowadays, but there is this great sense of history all around town, so it's quite an interesting place to visit.

We stayed at a four star hotel, with extensive (and most likely expensive as well) diners every night. I'm very much in the market for dining out, so as you can imagine I was very happy with this, especially since we finished each diner at the bar, drinking heeps of beer and generally having a lot of fun. Oh and did I mention we had a great swimming pool in the hotel?

During daytime, we visited the mines, the caves, and this ridiculous theme park called Sprookjesbos. I guess when you're a toddler this can be very amusing, but we basically just had fun in insulting the park in all its unattractiveness, which was a lot of fun in itself, albeit not the kind of fun the management of the park had in mind probably.

We also went to a monk's convent, which was interesting to say the least. It made me feel very uncomfortable to invade their way of living, knowing that I would be able to walk out of what I can only describe as a prison, but then again, they choose for themselves to live there, so who am I to tell them off? At east now I know that a career in Catholicism is not in the cards for me.

Anyway, it has been a fantastic week, and all in all a whole different way in knowing E. since this marked the first time we have been together 24/7 for as much as 10 days. I'm happy to recall we didn't have a single fight, so I guess it's safe to say now that we do in fact make a great couple.

So now I'm back at work, but thank God it's only for two weeks. After that, I'm off for a three week break so that I can go to the Madonna Confessions Tour shows in Hannover, Paris, and twice in Amsterdam. E. is leaving tomorrow for a second vacation with his brother, so this is going to be a bit of a hard week missing him, but I'll get through it, and all in all, it will make me even more happy when he gets back.

And we're back

I'm back from a wonderfull vacation with my boyfriend and his family. It has been an absolutely delightful week in every aspect. Unfortunately at this moment I don't have much time to post about it, since there is a lot of catching up to do at the office, but I promise I will post a full report later!
