No national holiday

Five people have died today because of the drama that happened in Apeldoorn on Queens Day (Koninginnedag in Dutch).

Police is regarding the incident as an official assault on the royal family. For that reason, right now it's not just an incident, but an attack on national security.

The guy who did it, Karst T from Huissen, may face 30 years of detention.

National holiday Queen's Day in Holland has been disrupted in the entire country. Festivities have been cancelled everywhere.

Thank you very much, you FUCKER, for making a day of joy one of mourning!

Kylie and Andres moving in

From The Sun:

IT must be love. KYLIE MINOGUE is so smitten with model boyfriend ANDRES VELENCOSO that she is looking for a love nest near his family.
Kylie and her Spanish fella are househunting in Costa Brava resort Tossa De Mar, near where his sisters and widowed dad live.

They have been regular visitors to Andres’s home town and Kylie has forged a close relationship with his family.

The Aussie also wants a place in Spain so she can learn the language.

A source said: “Things are going really well between Kylie and Andres and she has been spending a lot of time in Spain.

“As well as golf, his other passion is scuba-diving, and there are great dive sites at Tossa which he and Kylie have been exploring.

“He lives in New York but goes home at least once a month so it makes sense for them to have a base there.

“Kylie also wants to learn Spanish and has been following DVDs. But having a house in Spain will make things easier.”

I have no complaints about our adopted pop princess becoming a sexy Spanish senorita.

As long as she doesn’t abandon our shores altogether.

Another state on the good path

The Senate in New Hampshire voted on Wednesday to legalize gay marriage.

The legislation will go into effect on January 1st, 2010, unless it is vetoed by Governor John Lynch, a Democrat.

Lynch has said publicly that he opposes same-sex marriage, but has not commented as to whether he would veto legislation legalizing gay marriage.

If Lynch declines to take any action to block the legislation, the bill will automatically pass into law. The New Hampshire House of Representatives approved the bill on March 26th.

New Hampshire would be the fifth state in the U.S. to allow same-sex marriage if the legislation is passed into law.

Hopefully Governor Lynch will do the right thing.

Matthew Shepard Act

On Wednesday, the US House of Representatives passed the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act - also known as the Matthew Shepard Act. Matthew Shepard, pictured above, is the guy who was killed in Wyoming for being gay.

Passing with a bipartisan majority, the bill will provide additional resources to local law enforcement in the investigation of crimes driven by race, ethnicity, gender, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.

Additionally, the bill will allow the feds to step into an investigation when local agencies can't or refuse to look into serious hate crimes.

The bill will also extend federally protected categories to include sexual orientation and gender identity.

Senator Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts will introduce the Senate version of the bill soon, and President Obama has suggested that he will sign the bill should it come to his desk.

President of the Human Rights Campaign, Joe Solmonese, said that "The nation cannot wait any longer to protect all of its citizens. We should all be able to walk the streets without fear."

Beyonce has gone insane

Beyonce is turning insane!

Albertina, the acclaimed art museum located in Vienna, Austria, had arranged for Beyonce to take a private tour of the museum while the diva was in town for a performance this week.

Instead of showing up herself, however, Beyonce sent a lookalike to go in her place!

And while the lookalike was visiting the museum, the real Beyonce went shopping!

On the other hand, the museum is better of to not have the real Beyonce visiting! If she were, they might have to use a chemical cleaning device to get rid of her dirt!

Madonna update

Two new updates from Guy Oseary's page on Twitter sheding some light on what Madonna is currently working on.

Guy first said he will be back in the recording studio with Madonna on Thursday, and he hopes to get her back in Tweetland.

And then he let the world know he was on his way to the photoshoot Madonna is doing for her second Louis Vuitton campaign with Steven Meisel, today in New York City.

No more festivities

Sadly, it's not a happy Queen's Day for everyone in the Netherland. This morning, during a visit by the royal family to Apeldoorn, a car drove into the audience, killing two people and wounding more than 20 others.

All festivities in Apeldoorn have been cancelled, and the police is investigating if it were an accident or an attack.

Sad!

Happy Queen's day

It's Queen's Day in the Netherlands. Have a good one, everyone!

Fair and balanced

Hahaha! WND Homeshopping gets thanked, and guess for what?

Just a short e-mail to thank you for a truly fair and balanced and truthful publication. My wife and I subscribe to your magazine, and it is a blessing to have the insider info presented to the people. Thank you and please keep up the great reporting!

Jerry and Diana Strickland

Fair and balanced? Are you fucking kidding me??? Can a 'news' outlet get any less fair and balanced than WND Homeshopping? Not even One"News"Now is as biased as WND Homeshopping is...

FYI: 'fair and balanced' means something different than 'happens to agree with you'.

Promo-whoring

Tori Amos is promo-whoring big time. To be exact: her team has been asking to get some air time on my site. At first, I thought it was cool, because it could mean some exclusive stuff getting to my site. However, it actually didn´t. In fact, it only meant Tori Amos´ publicity company thought they could get some free air time at fan sites expense.

They can't: well in case, not with me. I like Tori Amos, but I don't really like the way her promotion is being settled. Street-teams is the name of the game these times but I think: fuck off with your free ride. As the record company business is a multi-million business, I would say: no way you'd get your promotion for free!

17 Again hype

The 17 Again hype is getting huge! Good thing, too! The movie is doing well around the world, and basically it´s a really good movie!

Zac Efron is promo-whoring the movie around the world (except for Amsterdam), and he's doing nice! His movie is great, and so it should be doing great!

My high school

Way too cool: I found a picture of my old high school! I got great memories of that time, and this picture brings them all back!

Boy toy whore

And to end the day with another Madonna related post: it appears Madonna's boy toy Jesus Luz isn't that popular anymore around his model friends! Jesus wasn't a very popular model before his alleged relationship with Madonna started, but since it started (or at least, since tabloids decided it started), he's booked around the clock.

Also, he can ask for high fee's while his ex-fellow models are still working in the shade. Obviously they're jealous.

On the other hand... the word 'whore' comes to mind...

The Madonna virus

This is just too hilarious: internet hackers are now spreading around emails with the subject line "Madonna caught swine flu!" to spread spam and virusses around the internet!

Says The Sun: If links within the emails are clicked, they could download so-called spyware allowing a hacker to gain access to a machine and steal banking details or personal information.
According to computer security firm McAfee Avert Labs, spam relating to the Swine Flu outbreak now makes up nearly two per cent of all rogue messages worldwide.

Greg Day, of McAfee, said: “This is simple double whammy social engineering.

“We see attackers all the time try and trick us into infecting ourselves through the use of current affairs and popular topics.

“Here is a topic everyone is watching the news for information about and here's a big celebrity who people want to follow the gossip from.

“People will want to click it and that's the goal from the attackers.”

Madonna has gone viral, y'all!

Carrie Prejean lying

Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said during Sunday services at her church in San Diego this weekend that the producers of the state pageant instructed her to apologize to the gay community and refrain from mentioning religion her appearance last week on the Today show.

However, a publicist for the California pageant is saying that Carrie is lying. Rep Roger Neal claims that Prejean was told only to take the opportunity to reiterate that she meant no offense and "to heal some wounds."

Neal said, "She chose to stand up in church and in front of the media and say something that was a lie. No one ever said, 'You must apologize to the gay community,' and no one ever said, 'Don't talk about your faith or your religion.' Those two things never came out of anybody's mouth."

Miss California pageant runner and civil rights activist Keith Lewis issued a statement expressing concern over Prejean's damaged image and ability to finish out her rein, saying, "Given the fact that Carrie Prejean's first act upon returning to California was to headline five services at a church that promotes homosexuality as both unnatural and abnormal, we stand by our concern for her individual image and look forward to a time in the near future when she can put down her personal agenda."

And there you have it

Christian Right really is a loving and righteous group of people. I'll leave it to your own opinion, but here's a comment from a One"News"Now reader, and just so you know: these kind of comments are the rule, not the exception:

I give Bush 4 stars for the wiretapping, secret prisons, and torture of known terrorists! If the waterboarding of 1000 terrorists helped to save ONE American military member's life, then IT WAS WORTH IT and I would have them do it all over again, EXACTLY as they did the first time.

So torturing is okay. Good to know! So much for loving and righteous!

A Blue comeback?

British boyband Blue is getting back together. They will play a gig in London on June 7 at the Summertime Ball festival. They haven't talked about releasing a new album or going on a full scale tour yet.

Is anyone actually interested in them getting back together? We all know there's only one British boyband that really matters, and that's Take That. I hope this reunion turns into a big fiasco, so we can have a good laugh about it!

By the way, judging by the picture, all four of them are actually quite ugly. Not a good feature when you're in a boyband, right?

Zac Efron in Europe

Zac Efron is in Europe to promote his great new movie 17 Again! Yesterday Zac went to the German premiere, and he is now on his way to the Spanish one! I wish he'd come to Amsterdam, I would be right there at the red carpet!

Pictures thanks to Perez Hilton, so forgive me for the writings on it...

The farce that is One"News"Now

For the past week, One"News"Now has gone on and on and on about the Carrie Prejean/Perez Hilton Miss USA situation. Obviously, One"News"Now, as one of the most biased and unreliable 'news' outlets on the internet, is milking the incident to post as many anti-gay 'articles' as they possibly can. It's hard for them to top themselves, as usually more than half of their 'stories' are already nothing more than unabashedly anti-gay, but they've really outdone themselves this time.

Unfortunately, they constantly forget that the little credibility they have left (zero to none), is torn down even more by the fact they constantly post editorials written by people from their parent company, the American Family Association. This wouldn't be bad journalism in itself, if it wasn't for these same people constantly showing up in the propaganda-disguised-as-news-stories as well.

Because of this cross-relationship between the AFA and One"News"Now, they can't even pretend to be any sort of legitimate news source, yet a great bunch of weirdo's comment on their 'news' as if it were the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. How come these people don't read between the lines and see this farce for what it really is?

Vuitton part two

Madonna will officially be the face of Louis Vuitton for the second time this year. She will be in the Fall/Winter collection campaign. Shoots will again be done by Steven Meisel and art direction will be reprised by Marc Jacobs.

Expect the first photo's in magazines as early as August!

Not going to the Circus

Although I was planning on going, I have now decided not to buy tickets to The Circus Starring Britney Spears Tour at Sportpaleis Antwerp. Basically, tickets are too overpriced for a show that does not include any live singing. In fact, it should be forbidden to call a show like this a concert.

Britney is releasing her ridiculously overpriced Diamond Center seats and Golden Circle standing places tonight, with the lesser seats going on sale tomorrow. Buying Diamond Center seats will cost you over 300 Euro's, which in my book smells like insanity.

Madonna's is extremely expensive as well, but at last she sings live (most of the time). Britney just dances around a bit, and by what I've seen from it on YouTube, not even that well...

Picture thanks to BritneySpearsBlackout.com

Mr Big will return

Contrary to previous rumours, Mr. Big will return in the second Sex And The City film! Sarah Jessica Parker herself confirmed Chris Noth's return to the movie, so fortunately enough the main cast will be complete, although rumours continue to surface one of the girls will die in the next movie.

I'm looking forward to the movie, I loved the first one, and I loved loved loved the show!

Gossip Girl in trouble

It seems people don't heart Gossip Girl anymore... viewership is down by as much as 26%. How could this be? Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley provide more than enough reason to love the show.

I hope it doesn't get cancelled!

Lady Gaga arrested

Lady Gaga has been arrested in Russia for wearing leather while visiting a cathedral. Well, I do have to say this is completely her own fault. You know there is a dress code for buildings like cathedrals, and you should simply respect that when visiting.

I wonder how obscene her leather outfit was? Knowing Lady Gaga, it could have been pretty raunchy!

Switching parties

One of the two senators from Pennsylvania, Arlen Spector, has moved from the Republican Party to the Democrats, thereby giving the Democrats a filibuster-proof majority in the US Senate. This is extremely good news for the USA, and the rest of the world. We all know what a mess the Republicans made in their years of reign, so now let's rejoice on this news.

17 Again - my review

Ziena and I just got back from the cinema, where we saw Zac Efron's new movie 17 Again. Now, obviously you all know I'm totally biased when it comes to Zac Efron, as I consider him to be my future husband. That said, I loved the movie even before I saw it.

However, even when you're not an Efron fan (how could you not be?), the movie is still very, very good. Zac is totally convincing in his role as a suburban father who gets the chance to go back to his teenager years to make up for the mistakes he's made.

You could think of it as High School Musical without the singing, but there's an actual storyline, besides of course the gags, since this is, after all, a romantic comedy. And although Zac isn't singing in this one, he does dance a bit (and quite nicely, I might add).

It's good to see Zac can step out of his Troy Bolton HSM personage, because in the end, if he wants to be known as a serious actor, he needs to take on different characters. I think 17 Again makes for a perfect transition role. And perhaps even more important: he looks totally gorgeous in this movie!

Go see it!

Pearl Jam comes to Holland

Legendary rockband Pearl Jam is coming to the Netherlands. On August 13 they will play one show at the Ahoy Rotterdam. Ticket sales start on May 8th.

Pink talks

So Britney may have intruded on Pink's circus-themed concept (Pink's Funhouse hit stores prior to Britney's Circus), but she's doing better than BritBrit in the ex-husband department!

Like Britney's current Circus tour, Pink's first headlining tour in the US later this year features the same sort of spectacle. But while Britney is about the lip-synching and the dancing, Pink is all about the music, in what she describes as "two hours of group therapy."

And, unlike Brit Brit, it looks like Pink is successfully reconciling with ex-husband Carey Hart, saying that the pair is "definitely back together."

She adds that she is not really concerned with "remarrying" because "we never really legally got divorced. Paperwork for both of us is really annoying (laughs). So we're choosing to be together. Our role models are Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon and Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn - people who just choose to be together every day because they want to be there. And labels have never been our thing, so, we're just diving into that empty swimming pool, headfirst" referring to her advice to simply "dive in" to love.

And even though things are better with Hart, she says that when it comes to performing the seemingly vengeful songs off of her latest album, she says that the situation is "still silly, it's still funny, I still have anger. It's really easy to just be right back there. … I don't have a hard time transplanting myself straight back to that moment."

Spoken like a true artist!

Jonas Brothers coke scandal

Americans really worry about the most insignificant stuff... The new Jonas Brothers album, calles Lines, Vines and Trying Times is suddenly subject of panic at the record company, Universal. The reason? The word 'Lines' could be seen as a reference to cocaine.

Are you kidding me? The fact alone that's the first thing they think of, makes me wonder if the record company execs are snorting a bit too much coke themselves. Says a Universal spokesperson: “Universal only get involved with distribution and promotion when the record is completed. And they were stunned staff at Hollywood Records, who the lads are signed to, had failed to spot the ‘lines’ reference.”

The Jonas Brothers themselves went into damage control, with Nick Jonas telling the press “Lines are something someone feeds you. Vines are things that get in the way and trying times, well, that’s obvious.”

I can't believe they actually worry over such a trivial issue.

Obsessed

Oh no! Beyonce's new movie Obsessed is actually doing good in the United States. What is it with Beyonce that people like about her? Personally I can't stand her, so I don't really get the appeal she seems to be having with practically everyone else.

Anyway, Obsessed is definitely one movie I won't be seeing!
