Kanye West, who still isn't used to typing without using ALL CAPS, has this to say about current popstars, and in who's footsteps they are walking. He claims Lady Gaga is the new Madonna. He could be right, but we'll need to hear a couple more albums to be sure.
Anyway, this is what he has to say on his official site:
JUSTIN IS THE NEW MIKE , BEYONCE'S THE NEW TINA TURNER, GAGA'S MADONNA, JAY IS SINATRA… WAYNE IS HENDRIX, THOM YORKE IS ROGER WATERS, THESE ARE THE CHAMPIONS AND SHOULD BE DOCUMENTED AS SUCH.

I would also say Lady GaGa could be an actual real follow up to Madonna. But agree with you .. let's first see a second album ;-)
On another note: all the new artist Kanye is using to compare .. the older generation are actually more or less stopping or have stopped (MJ is trying to get on tour, Tina (to my knowledge is just a final act Much respect by the way, I LOVE her)) etc
Madonna is actually still an actual artist still keeping up with the times ... (good or bad is not the question)
Still... funny about the CAPSLOCK abuse of Kanye ...
