The coolness that is Katy

Katy Perry looks smashing on the cover of Flare Magazine this month!

What is it with Katy Perry that makes her so incredibly cool? It seems as if everyone (including me) is in love with her. Her album, One Of The Boys, is constantly on both my iPod as well as my CD player, and whenever she's on TV, I want to watch.

If you ask me, I think she has a big career coming up!

That's why they write love songs

Watch Kylie Minogue sing That's Why They Write Love Songs, on the opening night of her KylieX2008 Tour, last year at POP Bercy Arena in Paris.

The video quality is not that great, but it's quite unique, as this is the only time Kylie has ever sung that song live. That's Why They Write Love Songs is not on any of her albums, and was used only for the KylieX2008 Tour, during the Loveboat part of the show. However, for some reason Kylie decided the song didn't work in the show, so the next day, at SportPaleis Antwerp, the song wasn't on the setlist anymore, and never returned. The Loveboat part from then on was made up by Loveboat, Copacabana and Spinning Around.

Too bad, it sounds like a great song, even with the crappy sound of this recording!

Say goodbye

Michael Jackson's body will be taken to his Neverland ranch on Thursday, to be displayed for fans who want to see him one last time and say their goodbyes. Fans are welcome on Friday, and there sure is a massive traffic jam to be expected in Southern California.

One minute to midnight

My new book has arrived (I ordered it through the internet): One Minute To Midnight by Michael Dobbs. It's an inside look in both the White House and the Kremlin during the Cuban Missile Crisis back in 1962.

I consider the Missile Crisis one of the most interesting (if not frightening) events in modern history, so I'm really interested in this book.

I'll start reading in it tonight!

Like selling washing powder

Discounting tickets to half their original price, cancelling two shows, doing a radio commercial in Poland... it's not exactly helping Madonna filling up the stadiums for her second Sticky & Sweet Tour, which starts this Saturday in a not even nearly sold out O2 Arena in London.

Maybe Madonna thought the radio commercial was a good idea, so she did another one, this time for Saint Petersburg in Russia. It's a bit like selling washing powder, isn't it?

Time is running out, and I'm sure LiveNation wasn't expecting this dismal when they paid a record amount of money to sign Madonna.

Obama keeps his promise

WASHINGTON, DC - President Barack Obama says that while he's dedicated to expanding gay rights, many Americans still cling to what he calls "worn arguments and old attitudes."

At a White House celebration of Gay Pride Month, Obama said he hopes to persuade all Americans to accept homosexuality. ""There are good and decent people in this country who don't yet fully embrace their gay brothers and sisters -- not yet," said the president. "That's why I've spoken about these issues -- not just in front of you -- but in front of unlikely audiences, in front of African-American church members."

Obama acknowledged that many Americans still disapprove of homosexuality. "There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors or even family members and loved ones, who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes," he stated.

He added that Congress should repeal what Obama referred to as "the so-called Defense of Marriage Act" -- and that his administration is working to pass a hate crimes bill and to repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays in the military.

The audience at the White House ceremony included Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson and other gay clergy. Obama introduced Robinson as a "special friend."

Will & Grace - the end

For the first time, I just watched the final episode of Will & Grace, in the re-run on Dutch television.

I was warned the ending sucked, and it definitely did! Without spoiling it, let me just say comedies should never end with a look into the future. People want to remember the characters the way they've seen them all these years, and not suddenly a lot older.

Too bad, as it's one of my favourite comedies of all times.

Legal battle coming up

Sorry for the abundance of Michael Jackson news lately, but obviously this is the most important story in showbizz-land this past week.

So, it turns out Michael Jackson never officially adopted Michael II, Michael Jr. and Paris!!!

Sources are saying that Jackson never legally adopted the kids because he assumed no one would ever attempt to "claim custody" of the three children.

This could become a major legal battle!

Ticket refund details

The promoters of Michael Jackson's comeback concert series, AEG Live, will be extending a full refund to those who purchased their tickets for the 50 scheduled performances through authorized agents.

Staring tomorrow, July 1st, fans who wish to have a full refund will be asked to visit MichaelJacksonLive.com for more information and to begin the process. However, fans will also be given the rare opportunity to receive their concert tickets as souvenirs in lieu of the full refunds.

Tickets weren't cheap!

Sources say that the tickets were "designed by Jackson" and were printed using the "lenticular process", which gives an unique 3-D look to the ticket. This offer will be valid through August 14th.

AEG Live president & CEO released this statement: "The world lost a kind soul who just happened to be the greatest entertainer the world has ever known. Since he loved his fans in life, it is incumbent upon us to treat them with the same reverence and respect after his death."

Check out the MJ website tomorrow for more details.

So what - live in Newcastle

Watch P!nk sing So What on her Funhouse Tour, which is now playing in sold out arena's all over Australia. This particular video was filmed at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre, in Newcastle, Australia.

Tribute concert

Michael Jackson's This Is It concert will go on, as a tribute show with A-list stars singing the songs exactly the way Michael was planning on singing them at the O2 Arena.

One of the artists rumoured to be in on it, is Madonna, with Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson and Rihanna talked about as well.

The location has not been decided yet, but at the moment it looks like it's going to be held in Los Angeles, instead of London.

Dressed to obsess

Guess who this is...

It's Mariah Carey, dressed up as Eminem! Eminem has been dissing Mariah in one of his recent video's, so now she's getting right back at him by imitating him in her new video Obsession.

Freaky, but cool!

Brunette Britney

Britney Spears has turned herself into a brunette, and she looks good doing so! She seems a little less raunchy, more mature, which is a good thing.

I wonder if this will be the hairdo for the remainder of The Circus Starring Britney Spears Tour? Have they filmed the DVD yet? If not, it would be nice to film it with the brown hair!

Zac Efron at sea

Where is Zac Efron, you might wonder? He's gone sailing! Pictures are by Perez Hilton, so forgive the writing over them.

By the way, the reason Zac has gone out to sea, is probably because he's in The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, a film about a cemetery caretaker name Charlie St. Cloud (Efron), who falls for a beautiful sailor named Tess Carroll.

More fun in Hong Kong

Good news for theme park fans in Asia: Hong Kong Disneyland is planning a massive expension, including two new 'lands', not found in any other Disney park! Also, to appeal more to teenagers and young adults, they will build more thrill rides, such as rollercoasters. Remember, Hong Kong Disneyland doesn't even have a Big Thunder Mountain, so at the moment Space Mounain is basically the only thrill ride.

Hopefully the new attractions will help Hong Kong Disneyland to finally draw the crowds that were calculated. Disneyland Paris had some problems as well in the beginning, but after building rides such as Space Mountain and Indiana Jones, the numbers went up.

Happy family

What a lovely family: Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick with their son James, and their new twin babies Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge Broderick.

Is that you, Madonna?

More Louis Vuitton photo's have been revealed, and Madonna looks just as photoshopped as she did on the one previously released.

In fact: she doesn't even look human anymore, it's a bit scary!

Would you buy a Louis Vuitton bag based upon these pictures?

They found the father

The father of Michael Jackson's children Prince and Paris is his L.A.-based dermatologist and Rowe's former boss, Arnold Klein. At least, that's what US Weekly says, based on 'a source'.

No word yet on who Blanket's father is.

A cool, dry place

Pathetic to the max

The ultimate embarassment: Madonna is now selling tickets at POP Bercy Arena in Paris for half of the original price...

Anyone still want to go into an argument how well Madonna's career is going? Half price? They can't even fill the arena's with a discount (the tried that about a month ago), so now they need half price endorsements? Pathetic!

Anyway, should (God forbid!) you want to buy any tickets, click here.

Be pleased by the fact you will have lots of space to dance, as there won't be many more people around.

LiveNation is going to be so pissed!

More final pictures

More pictures from Michael Jackson's final night, while rehearsing at L.A. Staples Center for his massive O2 Arena run in London.

This Is It really gets a bitter aftertaste, doesn't it?

Got to be certain

Kylie Minogue's fantastic performance of Go To Be Certain, taken from her ITV 2007 special The Kylie Show. There isn't any pop artist I can think of that sings live as well as Kylie does!

Expect to see many more The Kylie Show performances on Totally Theo the next couple of days!

Final pictures of Michael Jackson

The final pictures of Michael Jackson alive: rehearsing at Los Angeles' Staples Center for his This Is It concerts at the O2 Area London, the night when he died.

It's weird to look at them, isn't it? He actually looks happy, something you wouldn't expect considering everything that's been said and printed about him now.

One life to live

As The World Turns is not the only soap opera to have a gay couple as one of their favourites. US daytime drama One Life To Live is another one, but as far as I know, it's not on European television (yet).

Anyway, there's a bit of a drama going on backstage as well. As it seems, actress Patricia Mauceri isn't too happy about playing her role as Patricia Mauceri anymore, because apparently she wasn't up to the fact that her character would have a positive attitude regarding the show's relationship between Kyle (Brett Claywell) and Fish (Scott Evans). Patricia claimd she hd personal reservation about playing the part.

So, she's been fired as a result, which is a very good thing. First of all: when you're on a soap opera, you need to follow the script and if you don't, you're not suitable for the job. And second of all: homophobia belongs in the Middle Ages, not in 2009.

17 Again up for pre-order

17 Again, starring Zac Efron, is up for pre-order already on Play.com! The DVD won't come out until the middle of August, but Play offers you a change to make sure you will one of the first to own the DVD.

Remember though, there's a big chance there will be no subtitles, other than English for the hearing impaired, so if you don't speak English, Play might not be the best place to buy it.

On the other hand, if you don't speak English, you won't be able to read this anyway...

Sightseeing with Kylie

The lovely Kylie Minogue took actress Demi Moore and her children on a sightseeing trip through Paris. Kylie knows the city of course, not only because of the many times she played the POP Bercy Arena and Le Zenith, but also becaue her ex-boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, is from France.

Kylie, as always, looks lovely and radiant!

Sky 1 gets Sticky & Sweet

Sky 1 has started broadcasting trailers for their Sticky & Sweet program next Saturday. Sky 1 will be broadcasting the entire show, filmed last year in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the River Plate Stadium.

Although I'm not that big of a Madonna fan anymore, the commercial looks smashing. Sticky & Sweet was a great show (I've seen it myself 4 times last year), so I hope some of the magic will translate to the screen!

Beyonce at the BET's

Watch Beyonce perform Ave Maria/Angel at the BET Awards ceremony last night!

His last album

Michael Jackson's final rehearsal the night before his death may be released as a posthumous album.

The "electric" rehearsal - which included a spectacular display of dancers, musicians and aerial performers - for Jackson's London O2 residency, was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and was recorded in HD on several different cameras, with the sound digitally recorded as well.

While Jackson had missed several of the scheduled rehearsals before, he made it to this final one the night before he died.

AEG Live could lose millions over the cancelled shows, but the release of what is essentially Jackson's final evening could compensate for the loss, and then some, as fans rush to snap up memorabilia.

AEG Live declined to comment.

False report

After British tabloid The Sun posted the alledged autopsy report earlier today, the media went into a frenzy for it. Michael Jackson came out of it as a total trainwreck, with a stomach full o pills, bald, broken ribs, barely 50 kilo's and so on.

It has now been reported the entire report is a fake, made up by The Sun itself. Other media were just too impressed to even do a double check.

I'm not saying the report is a definite fraud, but The Sun's reputation doesn't give us much reason to believe them, so it might very well be a terrible lie.

Test shot

This weekend, the United States have succesfully shot a test missile from the MinuteMan III type, which is their current ICBM carrying nuclear weapons. The missile was shot from California to the Pacific, where all three re-entry vehicles (obviously not loaded with real nukes) hit their targets.

Now of course I know these missiles need to be tested now and again, to make sure they are ready as a detterent if the need rises, but is it really such a good time to test them now?

I mean, it sounds a bit hypocritical the United States are condemning North Korea for conducting missile test shots, while firing one themselves.

Perhaps it would have been better if they had postponed their test shot to a less tensed time?

Ugly baby?

It's a gangsta paradise

Rapper Coolio (you might remember him from his hit single Gangsta Paradise) has been caught at Los Angeles airport LAX possesing cocaine, he has admitted today.

Coolio (real name Artis Leon Ivey) is now sentenced to following a 18 months rehab program. On September 28, the rapper is required to return to the Court, so that the judge can decide if Coolio is cooperating with the rehab program.

25) Billy Jean
28) Smooth Criminal
30) Beat It
38) Earth Song

UK Album Top 40

Sick joke

As a matter of a sick joke, someone hacked into Britney Spears' Twitter account this weekend, posting message Britney has died.

What a sick thing to do, especially in the light of the recent events surrounding Michael Jackson.

Just to be sure: Britney Spears is not dead. The image with this post was taken from her Everytime video.

Spell of desire

This is way cool! A song recorded for Kylie Minogue's X album, that didn't make the album', did make its way to the internet. Enjoy Spell Of Desire!

Thumbs down

A big thumbs down to Disneyland Paris! They're planning on making their FastPasses a paid extra, instead of the free perk it is now.

FastPass is a way to avoid long lines at selected rides (usually Big Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones, Peter Pan's Flight, Astro Blasters, Star Tours and Space Mountain). You insert your park ticket into a machine, which then gives you a piece of paper that states a tme to come back to the ride. When you come back, simply present the paper, and you will be admitted immediately.

The fun thing was, the convenient perk was available to every park guest, with no extra costs. Now Disney is planning to charge you for the passes, on top of your admission tickets. As a result, only the rich will be able to use FastPasses, while the rest of the guests have t stay in line.

Parkpop succesfull

Parkpop, the largest free festival in the Netherlands, has attracted 275.000 to Den Haag today. That's more than 20.000 more than last year.

Dutch pride Guus Meeuwis will be headlining the festival, closing it up tonight.

Krezip is no more

Krezip, one of the Netherlands' most succesfull band of the last decade, is no more. This weekend, they performed their final shows at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam.

It's a bit sad to see them go. I've liked them since the beginning. Last month I got their greatest hits album for my birthdy, and I'm playing it a lot. I've seen them perform live once, and really liked it.

Battle of the diva's

It's battle of the bitches this September! Three super diva's are releasing their albums at the same time. Madonna's Iconography, Whitney Houston's Undefeated and Mariah Carey's Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel are all planned for release in September, so the album charts will be a war field by then!

Fierce and purple

Lily Allen looking fierce and purple at this weekend's Glastonbury Festival.

No restraints

Chris Brown has been given a restraining order, meaning he cannot come anywhere near 50 yards of ex-girlfriend Rihanna, but it appears none of the two are actually concerned about the court order.

"They think it's unnecessary and ridiculous," says a mutual friend. "After [the proceeding], Ri and Chris talked on the phone for almost an hour and really worked at becoming friends. They're solid now."

Why is it friends of the stars are constantly talking to the press? If I were famous, I wouldn't be too pleased with my friends running off to the tabloids.

New record?

Transformers 2 has made $204 in its first five days!! The movie is on its way to break the record set before by The Dark Night, which probably at least partly did as well as it did because it came out after Heath Ledger's death.

Jackson family: official statement

"In one of the darkest moments of our lives we find it hard to find the words appropriate to this sudden tragedy we all had to encounter. Our beloved son, brother and father of three children has gone so unexpectedly, in such a tragic way and much too soon. It leaves us, his family, speechless and devastated to a point, where communication with the outside world seems almost impossible at times.

We miss Michael endlessly, our pain cannot be described in words. But Michael would not want us to give up now. So we want to thank all of his faithful supporters and loyal fans worldwide, you – who Michael loved so much. Please do not despair, because Michael will continue to live on in each and every one of you. Continue to spread his message, because that is what he would want you to do. Carry on, so his legacy will live forever.

In addition, Joseph Jackson wishes to personally convey: "My grandchildren are deeply moved by all the love and support you have shown for them and their father, Michael Jackson."

Utrecht, here I come

On my way to Utrecht, for a funfilled evening! It's my friend Arjen's birthday (well actually it was so on Thursday), so we're having a party. On top of that, Leendert and I are also going to GigaPann, which is a huge party!

It's gonna be great!

Ticket refunds

From The Sun:

FANS with tickets for Michael Jackson's 50 sell-out concerts at the O2 arena should get a full refund - if they bought from agencies or direct from the venue.

But those who bought from private sellers on sites like eBay face losing out.

A spokesman for promoter AEG said: "Full ticket refund information and procedures will be released early next week."

Ticketmaster's website went into meltdown yesterday, and a message on its phoneline told customers to "await communication".

It is believed that fans who bought from sites such as Ticketmaster and See Tickets will get a full refund. Secondary retailers Viagogo and Seatwave promised a full refund.

But fans who bought on eBay may have to rely on the seller to pay them back.

A spokeswoman for eBay said those who paid through PayPal were covered by insurance, but needed to claim within 45 days.

Those who paid with a debit or credit card cannot claim compensation. UK payments group APACS said: "Cover would only apply if you bought through a ticketing agent."

Billy Jean, by Madonna

Glastonbury goes Gaga

Lady Gaga looked FIERCE at this year's Glastonbury Festival in the UK! I can't think of any artist who can pull off a ridiculous outfit like this, and still look great!

Obama on Michael Jackson

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has told reporters about President Barack Obama's reaction to the death of Michael Jackson:

"Look, he said to me that obviously Michael Jackson was a spectacular performer, a music icon. I think everybody remembers hearing his songs, watching him moonwalk on television during Motown’s 25th anniversary. But the president also said, you know, look, he had aspects of his life [that] were sad and tragic. The President's condolences went out to the Jackson family and to fans that mourn his loss."
