My trip to Ameland yesterday was great! Ziena and I took the 10.30 ferry, which took about an hour to get us to the island. At that point, the weather wasn't great yet, but not too bad either, so we good easily sit outside and enjoy the view of the Waddenzee.
When we arrived, we rented a bike and took it to the village of Hallum. One of our co-workers was getting married there, so we wanted to go and have a look at her. Also, this proved to be a good place to grab some lunch.
After the wedding festivities we went to the beach. It still wasn't very warm yet, but I went in the ocean up until my knees anyway. We then went for a drink at a bar situated alongside the beach, with great views!
After that, it was time to go to a launch bar in the village of Nes, which is the biggest village on the island. Great place to launch, and the sun finally came through. We spend about to hours there, and then went out for dinner. Lovely!
The ferry took us back, so after a great day, I arrived home at about half past ten.
