We all knew already Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour wasn't going down like they thought it would, but just how bad the tour's going was revealed today. Madonna has cancelled yet another concert, this time in Ljubljana, Slovenia, scheduled for August 20, the tour manager said on Friday.
Only 7000 of the 63.000 available tickets have been sold, causing LiveNation to see no other option than to cancel the show. Of course, LiveNation would never admit to such a thing, because if they do, they might need to confess their altered attendance figures for the rest of the tour as well.
So, in true LiveNation fashion, they're claiming the show is cancelled due to "unforeseen logistic problems". Of course, with a tour going on for almost a year already, this is utter bullshit, as the measurements of the stage were well known even when this show was planned.
The score for Sticky & Sweet 2008/2009 so far: almost none of the shows were sold out, Bucharest was moved to a smaller venue (and rejected, so now she'll play for a half empty field in the original venue), Manchester, Hamburg and Ljubljana were cancelled due to ticket sales, and for all other shows the box score figures are altered to make it seem she sold out.
Doin' well, Madonna!
