No demand for Backstreet Boys

The new Backstreet Boys tour is having a lot of difficulties selling out in my home country, the Netherlands. Ahoy Rotterdam, the venue where the concert is planned, still has tickets available in all categories, through the official ticket website Eventim.

The concert has been on sale for over a month now, and while Backstreet Boys, back when they were still relevant, used to sell out in less than an hour in the Netherlands, demand is obviously much lower this year.

We can't blame it on the recession, as concerts by other artist still manage to sell out in record time in the Netherlands.

Have people finally realised Backstreet Boys make rubbish music? It would be kind of funny if they attract such a small crowd the place would look almost empty.

It's not Back Street Boys Fault. It's Netherlands Fault. They allow drugs and sex. So if that is forbidden, BSB will come to your town. Please stop bullying Backstreetboys and you know Howie and Robbie don't even mind.

Wow. A non sold out concert evidence of "rubbish" music? Sting sang to 1/3 full arena when I saw him a couple of years ago. Tickets are still available to see Paul McCartney in Atlanta. "Selling out" does vary the longer an artist is around-NOONE expects the Backstreet Boys to sell out in minutes anymore. That doesn't mean they aren't still making enough money for themselves and the label to simply keep working. And THAT in this economy is a good thing.

why are you so obsessed with showing the world how irrelevant BSB are? It’s not the first blog about it from you. Anyway, just like selling out doesn’t mean quality of the music, not selling out doesn’t mean the music is rubbish. Plus, I don’t think their concert in the Netherlands is tomorrow, so there's still plenty of time to sell more tickets. But yeah, they aren’t nearly as popular as they used to be. What a shocker.

LOL at the comment about the fact that Netherlands allow sex and drugs being the reason.

geez, Madonna's concert is in a week or so here, and you can see that it's not even close to a sellout. tickets are in stores around Bulgaria probably since january this year and Coca-Cola gave away over 1000 tickets- is she a "rubbish-music" maker aswell? please, Theo, if you would really like to be a journalist one day, do your homework and I know that good news aren't news at all, but offending someone to gain popularity isn't the way. KTBSPA! Oh, btw, maybe you don't know what that means, but still, you are KTBSPA-ing :)

Blame it on their management! Where's the promo? With no promotion at all, it's more than understandable that there is no demand. How are people supposed to buy a concert ticket when they haven't even heard the new album?

Maybe people listened to the leaked music on the internet and they didn't like what they heard! That could be the reason why they don't want to go to their concert anymore. They changed a lot and not for the better!

it is a financial crisis and most of BSB fans are young and not very economically stable, so... I know I want to go to their concert, but I can't afford it. but why is this such a big subject? As if you will get a percrnt of the sellouts?!

Already recieving hate mail? Boy you don't know what you did with this ridicilous blog. Excuse me, but who are you???
BSB sold out the Never Gone concert in 2005 and they sold out the Unbreakable concert in 2008 and they WILL sell all the tickets for the This is Us tour. Holland is one of the biggest fanbase BSB has.

Grow up, go listen to some new BSB music, interviews whatever, maybe you can learn a thing or two from them.

Getting tons of hatemail, and laughing my ass off, which is exactly why most of the links to BSB sites to this stuff was posted by myself. I very much enjoy the lunatic comments you guys post!

I feel bad for you then. Do you have enough time for trolling? Well, can you just have some work, hobby, whatever?

Ik vind het eigenlijk wel grappig, dat jij zoveel weet over de backstreet boys, en dan beweert dat je ze niet leuk vind. Ze zijn namelijk helemaal niet veel in de media, dus je zoekt het toch echt zelf op. Closet fan misschien (A)
