There aren't many companies I hate and despise as much as scalpers. Scalpers, as you may know, are the ones who buy up concert tickets in bulk, so that they sell out quickly, and then resell the tickets for shitloads of money.
Usually scalpers claim they provide a service, as people can buy tickets from them to shows that were otherwise sold out. What they forget to tell you, however, is the fact that these shows are sold out because of them buying all the tickets. In other words, they create their own market with their sneaky underhanded ways.
Even more ridiculous is the fact they're sometimes selling tickets for shows that aren't even sold out yet (sometimes, I'm not making this up, they're even selling tickets that aren't even on sale yet). This happened today, when I saw Budgetticket.nl selling tickets for Tori Amos in Amsterdam and Groningen for as much as 109 Euro's. The official price for these tickets is 37,50 Euro, and they're not sold out yet, so you must be pretty stupid to buy from scalpers.
I really wish some legal action could be taken against these fuckers, ruining the market. LiveNation should work together with governments to put a stop to this.
