Trouble in the Funhouse! Concert promoter Kevin Jacobsen, who owns the Sydney Entertainment Center, struck a deal with concert promoter Michael Coppel to bring P!nk's Funhouse Tour to the Entertainment Center for ten nights, in favor of the larger Acer Arena across the block.
All looked fine, and P!nk sold out her tickets in record time. However, the financial agreement between the two concert promoters didn't work out as well. Mr Jacobsen and Mr Coppel signed an agreement which included giving Mr Coppel a full rebate on his hiring fee of nearly $900,000 - effectively giving him free rent for the 11,000-seat centre for the 10 nights in June.
Kevin Jacobsen's company, Arena Management, has since been put under administration, and at the moment it isn't sure Coppel will get to see any of the money promised to him.
P!nk herself, or her management, have nothing to do with this deal, as they only did business with Coppel, not knowing of the deal with Jacobsen. The final two Australian P!nk concerts will be held at Acer Arena at the end of this month.
