So, me and my friends went to see Lily Allen at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam yesterday. I wasn't expecting much of it, but it turned out to be a great show. I was actually going for the fun night out kinda feeling, and although I own both Lily's albums (and listen to them quite often), at first the show didn't seem to be a big deal to me.
Totally wrong! Lily did a great show, she sang live very well, and seemed genuinely happy to be in Amsterdam. She was quite talkative, but not too talkative. I never like it when artists take too much time to conversate with the audience, while they could be using that time to actually sing. Yesterday, there was a good balance.
Generally, I enjoyed the entire show, although it did seem a bit short. Also, Lily really needs to stop walking to the side of the stage every 5 seconds for a puff of her cigarette.
Other than that: great show!
