Remember when Britney Spears drove over a paparazzi photographer's foot back in 2007? Well, the guy, named Ricardo Mend took her to court (of course, it's America), and won.
Britney has to pay an undiscosed sum of money in damages, which I think is pretty insane. Usually the photographers practically throw themselves in front of celebrities' cars, so I would say it's an occupational hazard.
