Today I've been working at my company's branch in Den Helder, which is a marine town in the Netherlands. Our Royal Navy is situated there, and the ferry to the island of Texel leaves from Den Helder, so it's a quite a busy seaside town.
My company has an office there, so my co-worker and I went there for a meeting today. Of course, after the meeting, a nice lunch was served, compliments of the company, and after some more work, I went up to the dike, and had a stroll along the sea. The weather was great, although a bit windy (but that's what you expect when walking along the dike, right?), so I had a lovely time. There's nothing better than a stroll by the sea, especially on your own, when you can just listen to the sounds of the sea and the wind, and imagine you're the only one on the planet. There's not a place I love better than being around the sea.
A great way to start the weekend!
By the way, I didn't make this picture, but it was made at the exact place where I strolled along the sea this afternoon, so it gives you an impression of what I've been up to today.
