Take him down

Is this the beginning of the end for the Dr. Phil show? One of the CBS affiliates, a Texas based station called KPRC Houston has dropped the show, because it is dissapointed with the contents.

“We’ve been disappointed for some time in the direction of the show. It used to be a friend to female viewers and it’s changed to become a very tabloid show. It’s not the topics, it’s the way they treat the topics.”

Wuite right, Dr. Phil has turned into a sort of Jerry Springer Show, which is about the worse thing that can happen to a talkshow.

However, CBS is putting its head in the sand, and pretends nothing's wrong with the once popular show:

"The facts are that KRPC has a contractual obligation to pay for the show through 2011. We have listened to the station's comments about the show and we are as proud of the content and direction as we've ever been. We are confused by the station's actions."

Meanwhile, the Dr. Phil show is down 22% in viewers across the United States. How long will it take before it gets cancelled everywhere?

Now how's THAT workin' for ya?
