For only 7.50 euro's, today I bought the FutureSex/LoveShow Tour DVD by Justin Timberlake, filmed at the Madison Square Garden in New York City! I was planning on buying this one for a long time, basically ever since Leendert and I wanted to see the show at the Amsterdam ArenA, but could only get shiteous tickets.

Stop overcharging us

As a new trend, TicketMaster is adding ridiculous expenses up to normal tickets to shows, just to get into one of the first rows. Basically, these were tickets that were usually sold to the public as general tickets (except for the fact scalpers bought them up so quickly there's more than one reason to suspect TicketMaster and LiveNation are actually involved in this scheme). As to be expected, TicketMaster calls this an extra service, while obviously it is not. In reality, all they do is premium price a certain stock of tickets that were available to the general public before they put in their superduper greed.

It's a shame TicketMaster and LiveNation are putting these ticket options in. The public isn't really served, because there aren't any tickets become cheaper, instead, front row (seated) or Golden Circle (general admission) tickets are just becoming way more expensive, with, really, no extra service to the customer. Worse yet, I've heard independant stories from several friends last year, that Golden Circle ticket holders for Madonna's Sticky & Sweet concert at London's Wembley Stadium were treated horribly. So much for premium service!

Rest assured, I am posting this very same story to both TicketMaster and LiveNation, and I will post their responses, or lack thereof, on this very site! Stay tuned!

I am... Tour

YouTube is filled with video's from Beyonce's first I Am Tour (by the way, am I the only one to think this is a ridiculous name for a tour, that looks shiteous an tour merchandise t-shirts?), at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Canada. I am not going to link to the video's, because I really, really, really don't like Beyonce. She's coming to the Netherlands at the Ahoy Rotterdam on May 3 and 4, just one day before I see Enrique Iglesias there. I simply do not understand how she can fill the Ahoy two times. Why in the world do people like her music?

Exploitation!

Britney Spears' father, Jamie Spears, seems desperate to destroy his daughter's career even more than he's done before. As you may know, Jamie Spears currently acts as Britney's legal representative, getting paid big bucks over the back of his daughter.

Now, it seems, he can't stand fans being critical about his exploitation of Britney, threatening to sue these fans. This is what the webmaster of one of Britney's biggest fansites, BreatheHeavy, has to say:

I, Jordan Miller, Owner & Webmaster of BreatheHeavy.com and BritneyRes.com, want to thank you with all my heart for the loyalty and support you’ve shown over the last 5 years BreatheHeavy has been open.

We are all here for one purpose: to support the icon of our generation, Britney Spears, and to continuously stick by her through the good and bad.

I have been battling the conservatorship Britney is currently placed under for months now. When I did not conform to the requests and demands Britney’s management and father, Jamie Spears, recently put upon BreatheHeavy to stay quiet, they in turn became angry and malicious, launching, what I feel is an unjust attack, against me and my website.

As a result, I received a legal notice from Jamie Spears’ lawyers pressuring me to close BreatheHeavy.com by 3:00 p.m. PST today, March 27, 2009, or face an injunction, claiming they will pursue legal action by Jamie Spears, who, as a conservator, is legally allowed to act as Britney and sue using her money and lawyers.

“Britney doesn’t control her affairs,” said Brad Rose, the lawyer representing Britney in this case in a telephone conversation.

“You are an uber fan who’s gone a little too far.”

The legal notice states BreatheHeavy is not in compliance of Copyright Infringement laws, violating Britney’s rights of publicity and privacy:

"The Infringing Sites are replete with willful, unauthorized and unlawful use and/or exploitation of: (i) the copyrighted lyrics to songs written and/or recorded by Ms. Spears; (ii) Ms. Spears's trademarked name, (iii) various video and audio recordings embodying the performances of Ms. Spears; and (iv) photographic images of Ms. Spears (owned or exclusively licensed to third parties by Ms. Spears).

The unauthorized use of these recordings, images, copyrighted works and trademarks constitutes actionable infringement under, inter alia, copyright and trademark law, and also violates Ms. Spears's rights of publicity and privacy."

"Ms. Spears will pursue damages and injunctive relief in connection with the blatant violation of her rights of publicity and privacy."

The real issue, in my opinion, is hidden behind these Copyright Infringement claims, rather management, particularly her father / conservator, Jamie Spears, who makes $18,000 a month off his daughter, is desperately trying to hide the truth about Britney’s imprisonment, and shut anyone up who disagrees with their conniving and selfish exploitation of an innocent mother of 2 pushed back into the lime-light just several months after a hospitalization.

Another issue the lawyers claim aside from “Copyright Infringement,” is the use Britney’s trademarked name and image, stating I am not allowed to use her name or picture except for editorial and hard news purposes only.

Additionally, the Google and TicketMaster ads placed around the website are a “major issue,” stating I am using Britney’s name and image for financial gain without her consent.

BreatheHeavy.com is a non-profitable website, meaning I, nor anyone, makes a PROFIT off the website. The ads used help the website remain self-sustainable, and if there is a profit made, the funds, in return, are used to purchase magazine scans and other materials needed for the website.

Am I crazy and naive for running a major website that leaves me in debt each month? Possibly, but BreatheHeavy is my passion, a creative outlet that has allowed me to grow as an individual.

Britney Spears is my inspiration; I can’t put a price on that.

Though I made very clear to the attorneys that BreatheHeavy is a non-profitable website, it is of no concern of theirs.

This entire site thrives because of YOU, the fans, who support Britney by buying tickets to her show, merchandise and music. Sadly, your hard-earned money that goes to supporting your favorite celebrity, is now money being used to potentially sue me, a major fan and supporter of Britney Spears, and hide fans from knowing the TRUTH.

This conservatorship Britney is placed under, which controls every aspect of her life, is now clenching the future of her biggest Fansite.

I’m prepared to fight, but I need to know that you guys are willing to fight with me.

I desperately need your help.

Robbie wants back in

Robbie Williams has told British newspaper Daily Mirror he's ready to get back together with Take That...

Figures: his career is in a downspin, while Take That is having the UK number one tour this year, with multiple sell-out shows at London's Wembley Stadium and Manchester's Old Trafford Stadium, among others. If I were him, I would want to get back together as well.

Luckily enough Gary barlow announced earlier there were no plans of taking Robbie back into the group.

Today, while being horribly stuck on the train ride from Rotterdam back to Groningen, I finished my book The Client by John Grisham. This means I've re-read all my Grisham books, so now it's time to re-read my Stephen King books.

I'm gonna start tonight, with Carrie.

O2 tickets

Ticket's for Madonna's Sticky & Sweet shows at the O2 Arena in London have been send out. They actually look kinda nice, a lot better than the usual TicketMaster standard tickets!

Nice one

Leendert's birthday party in Rotterdam has been good fun! Because of major train delays I arrived quite late, but then again, there's nothing wrong with being fashionable late!

The first couple of hours we stayed at Leendert's house, and then, later on, we went out for a night on the town. We went to this cool place called Rotown, which played Top40/dance music. Just the way I like it!

Todat we were supposed to go out swimming or something other active, but none of us were really into it, so we skipped that part. I'm heading for a nice quiet evening, and then tomorrow I will visit my parents.

Zac in London

Zac Efron was in London yesterday, to visit the premiere of his new movie 17 Again at Odeon West End. He was all smiles and looked a lot less tired than he did last week in Paris!

Madonna went on Twitter yesterday for a chat with her fans. After one fan told her he is glad she's single again, because she always comes up with the best music when being single, Madonna replied 'Not as glad as I am.'

What a glorious day! Thankfully, U2 singer Bono told the press their upcoming 360 Tour might be their last one! The band's been long overdue anyway, so it's about time they'd call it quits!

Justin rocks

Bad news for Justin Timberlake fans: Justin has announced that currently he doesn't have any plans of releasing a new album. His last one, FutureSex/LoveSounds is already a couple of years old, so it would be about time.

Also, Justin said that when he's finally ready to record a new album, it could become a rock genre CD. Justin rocking? I'd rather not.

WND's amazing discoveries

Regular readers will know this, but in case any first time visitor comes across this post: I HATE conservative Christian websites, and, at the same time, I love them! They provide me with so much comic and laughter, I just can't imagine my daily morning routine without them.

However, after observing it for a while, I discovered that WorldNetDaily isn't really a news souce after all. I wouldn't dare calling my friends at One"News"Now a legitimate news source, but at least they keep up appearances.

Not WND... in fact, every story Joseph Farah's club publishes is basically an infomercial to one of the books or DVD's they publish. It's astounding to read that every single one of their news stories and editorials (in their case: the same, since they don't actually publish any unbiased stories) has a link to a related book or DVD that WND just happens to have on sale.

The saddest thing is... their readers most likely actually believe in them...

Another child

The press is going wild: Madonna is to adopt her second child from Malawi... I've been reading the stories today, and I don't really know what to make of it yet.

You cannot go around the fact that a child will have a WAY better life living with Madonna and all of her luxury, than living in Malawi.

On the other hand... is Madonna (or any famous person, for that matter) allowed to do this,just because she's famous?

Tori Amos plays her brand new song What If live! This song is, again, a new one from Tori's new album Abnormally Attracted To Sin. This album's gonna be one of her best yet! Dare I put it in the same league as From The Choirgirl Hotel?

The idea that one person can veto a bill that's been approved by the Senate and House is quite ridiculous. It doesn't matter what the bill is about, it shouldn't be possible in any case to veto a bill, just because the Governor feels different than the rest of the State's legislators.

Broken pictures

While browsing through the Totally Theo archive, I noticed several picture links are not working the way they are supposed to, anymore. The reason for this, is because I've changed the layout a while ago. Since then, pictures from the archives that are apparently too big now, don't fit the screen anymore.

I apologise for this, but unfortunately I cannot fix it. Totally Theo exists since August 2005 and has been going though some makeovers since then. It would simply be too much work to fix them all. If you want to see one of the old pictures in their entirety, just click on them, and they will show up!

Zac Efron talks about Perez Hilton

Zac Efron clearly doesn't mind the (sometimes ridiculous but always hilarious) stuff Perez Hilton writes about him. This is what he has to say in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times:

“There could be 100 tabloid articles about crazy stuff that perhaps involves me and they would all go unnoticed," Efron notes. "But as soon as Perez has a single post, inevitably I get like 10 or 20 phone calls from friends or family, or whoever, and so it seems like it’s going in his favor, it seems like what Perez says goes. I laugh about it. I’m just flattered that he’s nice. I don’t know how I got so lucky."

Serious Request in Groningen

Hurrah! Radio 3FM's Serious Request charity event will take place in my hometown Groningn this year! You may remember I posted a link to a petition to bring the event to Groningen a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, it worked!

The event takes place annually, around Christmas. I'm looking forward to it already!

Miserable

It's supposed to be Springtime in the Netherlands... instead, what we get is misearble weather, constant rain, and storms. Doesn't exactly makes me anxious to leave the house and go to work in the morning...

Let's just lie and cheat

Because it appears the ridiculous AFA is now dragging people to court who re-publish their insane One"News"Now stories, I decided to only link to this latest gem, instead of publishing it here. So, before you read the rest of this post, please first click here, and don't forget to read the hilarious reader's comments.

I thought this story to be pretty funny, because it either:

A) displays a huge ignorance
B) dismisses Biblical laws
C) both

The correct answer, of course, is C. The article seems to imply it's okay to lie, well at least that's what they seem to endorse: the girl in question was just fine turning in her speech and then doing an entirely different one? Uhm... that's not the proper thing to do, especially since it's not public forum, so free speech laws are not in place. Isn't it wrong, according to the Bible, to lie?

At the same time, imagine what outcry the Evangelicals would have if the girl in question would use her (illegal) spare time to promote, let's say, homosexuality? They would have gone beserk, screaming hell and fire! I guess laws only apply when they're in your favour, don't they?

So again, One"News"Now has proven an excellent source of fun. Christian conservatives really should get their act together, cause it will only be soon when they'll end up being the laughing stock of the rest of society.

Zac in Paris

Zac Efron is near! As I'm writing this, he's in Paris, promoting his new movie 17 Again. As you can see in the photo-call picture above, he was -as usual- looking lovely, although a bit tired. Then again, he's flying all over the world promoting his film, so who could blame him?

Now if only he comes to Amsterdam. We need some serious promotion too!

Is she kidding me?

As I wrote yesterday, I ordered the Britney Spears Live From Las Vegas DVD, filmed during her Dream Within A Dream Tour at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and let me tell you, I'm having SUCH a good time with it. Except... probably not in the way Britney intended me to. I'm laughing out loud here, because the show is so completely ridiculous... Except for one, all the songs are lipsynched, and not even in a way that would make us believe they were live.

Britney just pops in and out of overdubs, and moves around (I wouldn't dare call it dancing) in such a way it's pretty obvious it's impossible to sing without being out of breath. Moreover, the camera constantly zooms out because Britney simply isn't that good in lipsynching.

An then the real treat comes... Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know. It's the only song she sings live in this show, and it just simply sounds horrible. If you thought Madonna wasn't a pleasure listening to on a live show, trust me, you don't wanna hear this...

Why in the hell are people paying good money for this shit? Even worse, why did I pay good money for this shit, not once, but twice? And moreover, how can Britney do these shows without being utterly ashamed of herself?

It's all just way too embarrasing, and, because of that, so much fun to watch, and laugh at her!

What are the odds

How much bad (or good, depending on your view) luck can you get? 93-Year old Tsutomu Yamaguchi has survived BOTH atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This guy, who worked at the time as a technician for Mitsubishi, was on a business trip in Hiroshima when the town got hit by the very first nuclear bomb to be used on a civilian target, on August 6 1945.

He survived the attack, and went back to his hometown Nagasaki, where on August 9 1945, just 3 days later, he was again hit by a nuclear bomb. And he survived both... what the fuck!

Japanese authorities have officially declared that Tsutomu Yamaguchi survived the bombings today. Considering they had 63 years to do this, it sounds a bit late, doesn't it?

Anyway, pretty miraculous story!

Zaragoza gets Sticky & Sweet

Although Madonna.com still hasn't confirmed the concert, TicketMaster is now running a venue map for the Zaragoza Sticky & Sweet concert on July 25. A fanclub pre-sale is scheduled for March 25. Tickets are priced from EUR 43 to a whopping EUR 232. The standing area has again been devided into a Golden Circle, followed by General Standing 1, and General Standing 2, meaning the people in General Standing 2 will be so far of the stage they will barely be able to watch the video screens, much less the show itself.

Tonight on Dutch televison: Tomb Raider 2, The Cradle Of Life, starring Angelina Jolie. I saw part 1 for the first time last week, and wasn't too impressed. Shall I give it another try with this second installment?

Adding people

I've been working on my LinkedIn profile today, adding loads of friends and co-workers to my contact list. Usually I'm not such a big fan of social networking sites, as I don't really see the point to them, but LinkedIn is a little different. Because it's not just about keeping in touch with people, it can actually help you in your career (I guess), so there may be some actual value to being a member.

Well, and even if that turns out not to be true, it's not a big hassle adding people, so why not?

Zac Efron pulls out of Footloose

Too bad: Zac Efron has decided not to play the lead role in the remake of Footloose. Apparently Zac is afraid he will only be cast in musicals if he does them too much. I'd say just go for it, it's proven itself to be a succes formula!

On the other hand, I can understand why he doesn't want to get typecast. He said a short while ago he wanted to do feelgood movies for as long as possible, which I think is a smart move. However, of course feelgood movies don't necessarily mean musicals.

Guess High School Musical 4 is definitely not in the cards for Zac.

My best friend Ziena is in Australia at the moment, Melbourne, to be precise. Her fiance has been working Down Under for the past couple of weeks, and now she's there to visit him.

I miss her already, but I did get an email today! Looks like she's having loads of fun! I really want to visit Australia myself one day!
