Blizzard Beach

A couple of days ago, I wrote about Typhoon Lagoon, one of the two huge swimming themeparks in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Now of course, when writing about one of them, the other one should be promoted as well, don't you think?

Blizzard Beach is the newest of the Disney swimming parks, and is themed like a ski resort, so it may seem kind of awkward to see people in their swimming gear amidst ice and glaciers. Not to worry though, the snow is all fake, and Florida temperatures will take good care of the swimmers.

The majority of the major attractions at the park are hosted atop of Mount Gushmore, an artificial hill with an elevation of 90 feet (27 m), making it the fifth highest point in Florida. Mount Gushmore is split into three colored slopes to aid guests navigating around the park: Green, Red and Purple.

The "Mountain" also serves to hide the park's pipes.

All water areas are heated with the exception of the melting snow in the ice cave of Cross Country Creek.

It all looks very cool! I would like to visit someday!
