Kelly Clarkson - my review

So, last night, Remco, Leendert and I went to see Kelly Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted Tour at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. I was expecting quite a lot from the show, since on YouTube videos it was obvious this girl could sing, but to actually hear her in person... wow! She just blew me away.

As usual I didn't care for the support act, so we took the time to have some beers (after all, the venue was sponsored by Heineken, so what else could we do?). Then, at about 8 PM, the lights went out and Kelly came on. Right from the first song, All I Ever Wanted, I loved the show.

Kelly Clarkson isn't the sort of act where you get pyrotechnics and huge props on stage, but she doesn't need them either. Just her beautiful, and remarkably strong voice, is enough to leave the audience breathless (except of course during the very loud cheers between songs). She did a great mix between her own songs and covers, between uptempo and ballads, and between singing and taking the time to interact with the audience.

This was my first concert this year, but already such a good one, the other artists I'm seeing this year (Mika and Rihanna among others) will have a real challenge being just as good!

I'd agree with you that she did a great job vocally etc.
A real american chitchat girl ;-)
But way way WAY to much covers (Counted 5 real ones, and a small titbit here and there most likely (Sweet Dreams at least).
I woudn't mind seeing her again, but I woudn't be the one suggesting "shall we go to Kelly?" :-D
But that said: she DID do a great job "as a singer" ;-)
