Nothing comes for free

In a highly unusual departure from her normal ways, Madonna is offering something for free. You can now download, without charge, the new official Madonna application in the iTunes App Store.

There's got to be a catch here somewhere. I don't have an iPhone so I can't test it myself, but my guess is the App is nothing more than a cheap disguise for a whole bunch of links to parts of the store where you do have to buy stuff, such as songs or videos. After all, this is Madonna we're talking about. She does nothing for her fans for free.

I don't think u can put this on Madonna. It's just a new way of selling, a marketing toys. Sure, now it's a Madonna product, but it still comes from Apple (who must have had an idea to start of with).
I'm sure it's a application that will/could be used by many more artists... even Lady GaGa
The application a sort of insentive and my get the audience a 'quicker' chance to decide to download an extra song ... or backcatalogue ;-)

Off course you can't put this on Madonna. But our Theo who loves to hate Madonna and bashes her whenever he can, but goes to a Madonna FANmeeting loves to blame Madonna personally for everything.
He loves Kylie these days and Kylie is oh so good to her fans. Think again, WAS good to her fans. Kylie offers a ridiculous prices coffee table book through her website, but off course no bad word about that, since Kylie is his newest nr. 1 artist. ;-)

Actually I didn't consider it a fanmeeting as such, since indeed, I am most definitely not a Madonna fan anymore. That doesn't mean I don't like other Madonna fans, though.
