The DVD's out

Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour DVD is supposedly out starting tomorrow in the Netherlands, but in reality it was up for sale already today, so after work I picked up a copy. I'm watching it as we speak, and camera wise, I'd say it's a very, very good DVD. It captures the show the way it was, in a huge stadium in Buenos Aires (River Plate Stadium), and the show looks ace.

Sound wise though, of course it's rubbish. Madonna's voice has been processed so much, she doesn't even sound live one bit. It's especially obvious when she screams something to the audience (remember, Madonna never just talks, she always screams), and them, one second later, she sounds like she's singing in tune just fine.

I've been to four Sticky & Sweet shows, and this was in no way how she sounded. The DVD has been tweeked in every possible way to make her sound somewhat acceptable, which is a bit of a shame, cause now it looks like she was lip-syncing the entire concert.

Still, the images are great, and the DVD reminds me of the great 2008 Summer, when I saw the show in Amsterdam, Dusseldorf, and both nights in Paris. All in all, I'd give the DVD an 8.

I still think that the majority just generalized the dvd just by the overtweeked Borderline.
I just saw Hung Up (and others) for example and she still sound a bit off there.
Okay, it has been tweeked here and there, sure. But I don't have a feeling I'm listening to a record. I do get the same vibe (borderline excluded).
But I must say I also didn't even notice any horrible singing at the concert. I've seen it 7 times, and 7 times a fun night.
*Amen* ;-)
