Because I've got tickets to see Rihanna's Rated R Tour at Gelredome XS in Arnhem in May, LiveNation send me an e-mail today, offering me an upgrade on my ticket. Want to know what they had to offer?
For 'only' EUR 105 above the ticket I already purchased (which cost me EUR 50 already), I can buy myself guaranteed access to the Golden Circle, which means I can be certain I'm somewhere up front. However, if I arrive early enough, I can end up in the Golden Circle just as well, so this is just EUR 105 wasted money.
However, it gets even more insane. For an additional EUR 255 above my EUR 50 ticket, I can buy myself a VIP package, containing guaranteed access to the Golden Circle, a t-shirt, some drinks, and a Meet And Greet with Rihanna herself.
Both upgrades are subject to a service charge (let's say it's another EUR 5). In other words: EUR 160 for guaranteed access to the Golden Circle, and EUR 310 for a VIP package.
Are they out of their minds? I'll just stick with my regular ticket!

Zijn ze helemaal gek geworden? Je hebt gelijk, dat je het bij je gekochte ticket houdt! Ze gaat Madonna achterna, met deze bespottelijke prijzen.
Hmmmm ... what would u do if they offered the same for the Lady GaGa concert? ;-)
