Pinkpop 2010: John Mayer

John Mayer, live at Pinkpop 2010, as filmed for Dutch television!

Pinkpop 2010: Skunk Anansie

From the Dutch TV broadcast of Pinkpop Festival 2010, here's Skunk Anansie.

Pinkpop 2010: Mika

Also from the TV broadcast yesterday, here's Mika's performance at Pinkpop Festival 2010, part of his Imaginarium Tour.

Pinkpop 2010: P!nk

Watch some of the highlights of P!nk's performance (as part of the Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour) at Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, the Netherlands, as broadcasted on Dutch television (inclusing P!nk flying over the audience, awesome!):

It's Memorial day

It's Memorial Day today, a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the Civil War), it was expanded after World War I to honor dead Americans from all wars.

Many people observe this holiday by visiting cemeteries and memorials. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3 p.m. local time. Another tradition is to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff from dawn until noon local time. Volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at National Cemeteries.

Some Americans view Memorial Day as the unofficial beginning of summer and Labor Day as the unofficial end of the season.

Stars gone wild

Miley Cyrus is on the cover of Billboard Magazine, but by the looks of it, she isn't too thrilled about it. Of course, she has an album to promote, so photoshoots like this come with the job.

Not quite Britney Spears yet, but she's well on her way to deserve her spot in the long line of Disney stars gone wild.

Spice Girls forever

The Spice Girls are coming back with a new album and a huge new tour, although it is not 100% certain if all five of them will participate, Rumour has it Posh Spice Victoria Beckham isn't too into the idea.

A source told British tabloid The Mirror: “The girls are so excited. They are buzzing about getting back together and each have so many new ideas and so much to bring to the table. They are desperate to get Posh on board, but that is the sticking point. Although she’s still so nostalgic about the good old days, she has moved on now and is relishing the fashion world. They don’t want to give up on her, but have so many plans. The way things are going they might have to go on without her if she doesn’t come round soon.”

Geri said earlier this year: “Right now, we are gathering information and thinking about possibilities. But when you’re evolving a plan you don’t share it to the world until it’s concrete.” Mel B added: “Until all five of us have finalised everything, mum’s the word for now. But it is very exciting.” Emma added: “Watch this space.”

I think it would be great if they returned once again! My first stadium show ever was the SpiceWorld Tour, front row at Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem, back in 1998. Unfortunately I missed out on The Return Of The Spice Girls Tour in 2007, because I couldn't find anyone to come along with me. If they're coming back, I will definitely go and see them!

Starting to forgive?

The latest Take That gossip from The Sun:

THE wife of TAKE THAT cheat MARK OWEN is wearing her wedding ring again - on the other hand.
EMMA, 32 - mum of his two kids - was snapped with the band for the first time since March when Mark, 38, admitted TEN affairs.

She managed a smile near their West London home, prompting speculation that she may be starting to forgive.

He has been holed up there for a month after leaving rehab.

Inception - poster

Check out this just released movie poster for Leonardo DiCaprio's next film, Inception.

Inception opens everywhere on July 16 and was directed by Christopher Nolan (Memento, The Dark Knight). Synopsis: In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a single idea within one’s mind can be the most dangerous weapon or the most valuable asset.

Awards promo

Tom Cruise and Robert Pattinson did a pretty hilarious promo video for the upcoming MTV Movie Awards 2010. Click here to watch it.

RIP Ali Woodson

Ali “Ollie” Woodson, former lead singer of the Temptations, died after battling cancer on Sunday (May 30) in southern California.

The 58-year-old co-wrote, co-produced and sang lead on the 1984 Temptations single “Treat Her Like a Lady.” Ollie was not an original member of the group but sang lead from 1984 to 1986, and from 1988 to 1996.

In late 2008, Ollie was diagnosed with leukemia and hospitalized for several weeks.

Rest in peace.

Artists den

Tori Amos will be on Live From The Artists Den in just a short while! Tori taped at New York City’s Park Avenue Armory in December 2009. Tori’s episode will be premiered during the week of July 12th, the second episode of the new season.

Insanity is all around us

This is just insane. Some idiot is slapping Beyonce with a lawsuit, because he claims the filming of her video for Why Don't You Love Me disrupted his life. Philip Markowitz claims that the crew blocked his driveway several times a day and he even "missed several business calls while arguing calmly in his driveway."

A source says "he demanded compensation for the trespass on his property and the inconvenience and delay he had already suffered."

Completely ridiculous.

Next album

Producer Ryan Tedder told the press how he is working with Kelly Clarkson on her next album, but it appears he was just plain lying. Kelly and Ryan got into a fight after it came out the song Already Gone he wrote for her, sounded a bit too much like Beyonce's Halo, which he also wrote.

However, even though she may not work with him anymore, Kelly Clarkson is very mich working on her new album. She said: "I've been working in the studio a lot for this next album & can't wait for y'all to hear it! New favorite is You're The Only One For Me."

A new Kelly Clarkson album sounds like a fine plan to me! By the way, the album will be released in the Fall of this year!

Third place

Uh-oh! Despite enjoying a good opening day, this weekend Sex And The City 2 came in only third in the box office top ten, instead of the expected first place. Shrek 4 and Prince Of Persia both beat SATC to be being number one.

I'm going to see the film this Wednesday, and regardless of what the reviews say, I'm sure I'm going to love it!

World chart record

Lady GaGa's new single Alejandro is at the #9 spot on the United World Chart, which means she has set a new record! Because of this new hit, Lady Gaga has the most top ten singles from one album in history. The Fame Monster contains top ten hits Just Dance, Poker Face, Paparazzi, LoveGame, Bad Romance, Telephone and Alejandro. Even Michael Jackson had less hits from one album (6 top ten hits from Thriller).

And while we're at it; don't forget to vote for you favourite Gaga single in my poll on the right side of this page!

Video premiere

The brand new video for Kylie Minogue's fantastic new single All The Lovers will premiere tomorrow, June 1, all over the world. Head over to to find out where to tune in in the country you live in!

I'm excited, looking forward to seeing the video!

Healthy pregnancy

Congratulations to Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil. It was announced today Celine is pregnant with twins! Rene told the press: "We're ecstatic. Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy."

Good luck!

Summer carnival - setlist

Here's the setlist for P!nk's brand new Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour, which kicked of this weekend with shows in Cologne (Germany) and Landgraaf (the Netherlands):

"Intro: Get The Party Started"
"Ave Mary A"
"Who Knew"
"Bad Influence"
"Please Don't Leave Me"
"I'm Not Dead"
"Mean" (With Butch Walker)
"My Generation / Basket Case" (With Butch Walker)
"Roxanne" (With Butch Walker)
"Whataya Want From Me"
"Just Like A Pill"
"Try Too Hard"

Sounds like a cool show!

Extra show

Her success goes on and on! Today, LiveNation announced Lady Gaga will play a third show in the Netherlands, again at Ahoy Rotterdam, on November 30 (one day after the already sold out second Dutch Monster Ball show, also at Ahoy Rotterdam).

Tickets go on sale this Saturday, June 5, through LiveNation and Eventim. Beware of scalpers!

Love conquers all

Madonna has responded to the news of the release of the gay couple from Malawi who were earlier this month sentenced to 14 years of prison:

I have always believed love conquers all - yesterday I got to see it in action.

In the last week over 30,000 of you added your name to mine calling for the release of Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga - the Malawi couple sentenced to 14 years hard labor for the "crime" of homosexuality. With incredible joy, I am writing to share with you that Malawi President Bingu wa Mutharika has ordered their release. Steven and Tiwonge were freed on Saturday night.

They have won their freedom and you have been a part of it.

We celebrate this astounding turn of events with Steven, Tiwonge, and the countless Malawians fighting for their release. It is a historic day for Malawi.

Though they are free from prison, sadly their safety and future in Malawi is still unknown. I hope this is just the beginning of our work together.

Human rights injustices continue for so many Malawians facing poverty, disease, and a lack of critical resources. There are still over two million orphans and vulnerable children who need to experience love's embrace.

It is going to take the love and creativity of all of us to bring justice to the people of Malawi.

Thank you for joining me in Raising Malawi.

With great love,

The heartbreak kid

Community service

Rihanna showed her good side in between Last Girl On Earth shows in Tel Aviv, Israel. She donated her time by volunteering for a community center.

“It’s my first time in Israel and I’m thrilled,” said Rihanna. “This is a great experience for me. I’m excited about the show.”

I've seen the show at Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem. The people in Tel Aviv are in for a treat!

One is enough

Ke$ha is so desperately trying to be Lady Gaga, it's becoming a bit pathetic. I mean, I like her music, but one Gaga is enough, and there's no way Ke$ha will be able to top her. Here she is wearing a huge feathered headpiece during the 2010 MTV World Stage VMAJ Awards in Tokyo.

Boat ride

Twilight stars Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart were spotted together in Sydney, Australia, where they were taking a boat ride around the famous Sydney Harbour together.

Only one month left until Twilight: Eclipse comes out!

Memorial day

Christina Aguilera enjoys her Memorial Day weekend with husband Jordan Bratman and son Max Bratman on Saturday in Brentwood, California.

Her career may be tanking, but at least she'll always have her family!

Whataya want from me - live in Cologne

She wrote it for Adam Lambert, but now she's singing it herself (way better than he does): P!nk performing Whataya Want From Me, during the Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour at RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, last night.

The tour comes to the Netherlands today, and some of it will be broadcast on television, so tomorrow I'll be posting some better quality videos!

Mean - live in Cologne

My favourite song from the Funhouse album, and last night was the first time P!nk sang it live! Mean, at RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, during the Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour.

Just like a pill - live in Cologne

Also from the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, here's P!nk singing Just Like A Pill, on opening night of the Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour.

So what - live in Cologne

The first videos from opening night of P!nk's Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour, at RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne are coming in! Let's start with So What, with P!nk flying all over the audience!

On notice

Yesterday the U.S. Department of Labor’s Assistant Secretary for OSHA, David Michaels, blasted Disney and other theme parks for their lack of commitment for the safety of their employees.

During a conference call, Mr. Michaels told reporters that “We’ve seen several examples of employers in the entertainment industry that have not provided precautions adequate to protect workers. And we’ve seen fatalities as a result of that.” Michaels also was quoted as saying “There’s a tremendous amount of risky work in these facilities and safety is often not considered the highest priority in these cases.”

During the call, Michaels said that he was putting theme parks and other ‘entertainment venues’ “On Notice”, largely in part to the various accidents that have occurred over the past 12 months at parks around the U.S.. Specifically singled out were the 3 deaths at Walt Disney World (monorail driver Austin Wuennenberg; Mark Priest, who died after hitting his head during a pirate’s show; and Anislav Varbanov, who broke his neck while rehearsing for the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular). Also mentioned was the drowning of Dawn Brancheau by the killer whale at Sea World.

Walt Disney World spokeswoman Andrea Finger has rejected Mr. Michaels accusation by saying “Safety is our single most important responsibility and is at the heart of all we do. We have a team whose full-time job is to regularly review our operations and procedures and continuously look for ways to enhance safety.”

Following the deaths at Walt Disney World, OSHA found Disney at fault for only 2 of the incidents which resulted in a fine of $35,200 for one incident and a non-binding recommendation for the other.

Mr. Michaels is now calling on Congress to let OSHA have more power and to allow them to raise the limits on fines that OSHA can levy against the parks.
“It’s clear to me that the size of OSHA fines are too small and they don’t have an adequate impact,” said Mr. Michaels.

90 Minutes of love

P!nk just finished the first show of her Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour in Cologne, Germany, and she immediately tweeted about it:

Wow. 90 minutes of love!!! I love germany and I love my friends! You all made me wet tonight. Or was that the rain?

I'll try to get a setlist and some videos on as soon as possible!

A new low

Oh my! How did Madonna think she could get away with this outfit? She was spotted wearing this ridiculous S&M themed thing last week while leaving nightclub Aura in London.

Her children must be so proud of her!

10x Backstreet Boys

Although I´m hardly a fan, I do enjoy listening to their greatest hits record from time to time, so let´s do a Backstreet Boys top 10:

1) Drowning
2) The Call
3) As Long As You Love Me
4) I Want It That Way
5) Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely
6) The One
7) I'll Never Break Your Heart
8) Larger Than Life
9) Anywhere For You
10) Quit Playing Games

What are yours?

She deserves it

It's not just Lady Gaga who sold out her Dutch show this week. The always lovely miss Tori Amos also sold out her Dutch solo show at Caprera in Bloemendaal. Of course, I've got my tickets firmly in place, as missing a Tori Amos show in the Netherlands would be inexcusable for me.

Good to hear she sold out! I love it when Tori Amos is succesful, she so deserves it!

Smiley Kylie

As you know, it was Kylie Minogue's 42th birthday yesterday, and of course the paparazzi were able to snap a few pictures of her. The fun thing about Kylie is, she never really seems to mind the fact they're constantly there, so usually she's just smiling for them (I think she never stops smiling, actually).

Lovely as usual!

Sold out

There are only a couple of single tickets on the far side of the arena left, so Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour at Ahoy Rotterdam is officially sold out! The new Ahoy will contain as many as 15.000 people. Add to that the 25.000 people who already saw the show at Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem, and that makes a solid 40.000 Lady Gaga tickets sold in the Netherlands this year!

Rumour has it LiveNation is planning an extra show the day before, on November 28th, to meet the huge demand.

We still love them

Sex And The City 2 has cashed 14,2 million dollars in its first day alone, in the United States! The reviews may be sour (as they always are, who reads them anyway), but the public sure loves Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda still!

I'm going to see the movie next week. Looking forward to it already. I loved the TV series, and I loved the first movie, and there's no doubt I will love this one just as much!

Epic fail is sure to follow

Janet Jackson doesn't feel like making albums anymore, but she's not stupid either. Of course she knows the money needs to come from somewhere, so after the disastrous Rock Witchu Tour back in 2008, Janet is now planning on going on tour again.

As you may recall, more than half of the Rock Witchu Tour had to be cancelled, because no-one could be bothered to buy any tickets for the show. And now another tour? Epic fail is sure to follow!

Summer carnival video

As you know, P!nk is as I'm writing this playing the first show of her Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour in Cologne, Germany, and today two pictures of a video she made for the tour have surfaced. The video is played on the screens during one of the songs, and she looks amazing in them!

Tomorrow the show comes to Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands, but unfortunately, I'm not going. For all of you that are, have loads of fun!

Celebrity is rape?

Okay, I get the fact that it's not always a pleasure being famous, with the paparazzi and all, but comparing fame with rape, such as Twilight star Kristin Stewart just did, is just insane:

"It's so… The photos are so.. I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can't handle it. I never expected that this would be my life.

What you don't see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction. All you see is an actor or a celebrity lit up but a flash. Your little persona is made up of all the places that people have seen you and what has been said about you.

And usually the places that I am are so overwhelming in the moment and fleeting for me - like one second where I've said something stupid, that's me, forever."

Nobody forced you to become a star!

Kanye West finally has a new song coming out. It's called Power, and as far as Kanye West songs go, it's actually pretty good. I can ppicture myself humming along to this when it hits radio.

Click here to give it a listen.

Spice birthday

Happy birthday to ex-Spice Girl Mel B., who turns 35 today!

Delicious record

Gwen Stefani posted a letter on her website, to write to No Doubt fans about their upcoming new album:

Hey Guys…thinking a lot about you! We are baking up one of the most delicious records…your ears will hardly be able to take it…it will be so pleasurable!

It's been so fun being together everyday. We started writing at Tony's studio in his house. We just moved to a real studio in the Valley and it makes it all feel like it's finally happening. We're recording the first batch of songs that we wrote now and after this we're gonna go right back in and write some more.

Wouldn't have gotten to this point without all of you coming out to see us on the Summer Tour. You are so inspiring! Gonna tweet you pictures and keep you updated. We need your vibes! Check out some more news down below…

Gwen & My Boys (the No Doubt ones)

Looking forward to the album coming out!

Te amo

Speaking of Rihanna: Rockstar 101 is not the only single she has out, and so Te Amo got a video as well. Feel like watching it? Click here!

Markets and churches

Rihanna walks around Jerusalem and visits various markets and churches in Israel on Friday. Rihanna just finished up 3 Last Girl on Earth concerts in Ireland and will be closing out the European leg of the tour at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv-Jaffa on Sunday May 30th. She will then take a break for about a month, before the North American leg of the tour starts on July 2nd.

It has to be perfect

When Access Hollywood asked Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens if they would ever consider working on another project together, Vanessa, 21, said: “Of course. But the project has to be perfect.”

With her in it, there is no way it'll be perfect.

Risky business

Tom Cruise returns to the Risky Business set for a hilarious promo for the upcoming 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Click here to watch the video!

RIP Dennis Hopper

Actor Dennis Hopper died today (May 29) from prostate cancer complications at his home in Venice, California.

Rest in peace.

After work drinks

Lady Gaga has a habit of visiting local bars after finishing her Monster Ball concerts. Yesterday was no exception, when she visited the Prince Of Wales pub in Birmingham after her show at the National Indoor Arena.

Gaga did not only pay the bill for every guest in the bar, she also left the waiters a huge tip. Classic!

Steven and Tiwonge are free

The president of Malawi has pardoned the two gay men who were sentenced to 14 years in prison this month for gross indecency and unnatural acts, the country's solicitor general, Anthony Kamanga, said Saturday.

President Bingu wa Mutharika announced his pardon of Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga after meeting with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Kamanga said.

They shoudln't have been arrested in the first place, but this is great news nonetheless!

At world's end

Very happy

The rumours have been going on for a while (she looked suspiciously bigger during her show at Gelredome in Arnhem, for instance), but it's official now: Alicia Keys is pregnant. A friend told the press 'they are very happy'.

Boycott Arizona?

Because of recent anti-immigration laws in the U.S. state of Arizona, several musical artists boycot the state and refuse to perform there. The latest one to follow suit is Kanye West, who released the following statement:

"When Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat, they arrested her. As a result, people got together and said, 'We are not going to ride the bus until they change the law.' It was this courageous action that sparked the Montgomery bus boycott.

What if we got together, signed a collective letter saying, 'We're not going to ride the bus', saying 'We are not going to comply. We are not going to play in Arizona. We are going to boycott Arizona?!'

As I'm not an American, I'm not really familiar with the laws in question, so I don't know if they seem fair or not. American readers, what do you think?

Need you now

This song has been on Dutch radio for a couple of weeks now, and I love it: Need You Now, by Lady Antebellum. Great lyrics which we can probably all relate to.
