Can they make it work?

Bad news for X Factor fans: after her pregnancy leave, Dannii Minogue might not return as a judge on the show. At this point, nothing's finalised yet. She says:

"All that's happened is I've met the producers. They're expressing an interest for me to come back and I'm expressing an interest to come back. We have to see if we can make it work."

That would suck!

Added to the show

Lady Gaga's beautiful new ballad You And I has been added to the setlist of the Monster Ball Tour, I'm happy to report! The song is now being played in between Brown Eyes and Speechless, a perfect spot for a perfect ballad.

Let's hope it stays in the show, as I would love to hear it played live at Ahoy Rotterdam in November!

10x Steven Spielberg

Time for a new top ten list. This time, instead of an actor or actress, let's take a director. Here's my Steven Spielberg top ten:

1) Jaws
2) Jurassic Park
3) Schindler's List
4) Close Encounters Of The Third kind
5) E.T.
6) Saving Private Ryan
7) War Of The Worlds
8) Indiana Jones (film series)
9) Hook
10) Catch Me If You Can

What are yours?

That's reality

Rihanna is on the cover of the new issue of Seventeen Magazine. Here are some of the highlights from the interview that goes with the shoot:

On her emotional growth:
“There’s a balance in my life that wasn’t there before. It’s a really different peace, a different energy.”

On finally being happy:
“It’s really liberating. It makes you feel so proud when you look back and see how much it took you to actually get here. And it’s the best feeling. I’m really enjoying life right now.”

On being yourself:
“Don’t be afraid to be yourself just because you’re not like everybody else in class. If you want to dye your hair green and that’s what makes you happy, then dye your hair green-no matter what other people might say about it. Not everybody is going to like you - that’s the world we live in; that’s reality.”

Never again - live in New York

And finally, for today, here's Kelly Clarkson singing Never Again, live from the PC Richard Theater in New York City.

More to come tomorrow!

Walk away - live in New York

From the PC Richard Theater in New York City, here's Kelly Clarkson singing Walk Away!

My life would suck without you - live in New York

Also from the PC Richard Theater in New York City, here's Kelly Clarkson singing My Life Would Suck Without You.

Cry - live in New York

Kelly Clarkson performed some very special versions of her songs at the PC Richard Theatre in New York City last year. Let's have a look at some of them. Here's, to start with, Cry.

The darkness of Twilight

Leave it to Right Wing conservative group the American Family Association to lift on the Twilight: Eclipse craze to write a story on how evil and destructive reading or watching Twilight just might be.

This particular bullshit piece, written by someone named Kerby Anderson, is particularly funny, although that's probably not how it was meant to be. Click here to read!

Material girls - press photo's

And here are the first promotional image for Madonna's new Material Girls clothing line:

Material girls - press release

Check out the official press release for Madonna's new clothing line Material Girls:

International Icon and world renowned Material Girl Madonna has teamed up with her daughter Lola to create a new fast-fashion junior collection "Material Girl” which is exclusively available at Macy’s, just in time for back-to-school season, and will be in-store on August 3rd.

Madonna commented, “Lola’s influences, you know, watching films, watching music videos - she pays attention to what's going on in the street and what people are wearing, and she's much more fashion forward and savvy than I am at this point!"

A teaser ad campaign will break on June 29, 2010 and will offer a hint of the celebrity muse for the launch of “Material Girl.” Madonna and Lola picked the muse who will appear in the multi-platform marketing campaign launching the first week of August,

Material Girl mixes hard and soft elements, like a tutu dress and studded combat boots, or an oversized boyfriend sweatshirt with a floral print mini skirt. Inspired and designed by the duo, "Material Girl" will also launch in multiple categories including footwear, handbags and jewelry and will be available exclusively in approximately 200 Macy’s stores and online at

“We mix and match textures and fabrics and elements that are both masculine and feminine. It's not complicated. It's dressing in layers. It's not looking like you took too much time thinking about what you're wearing,” says Madonna.

Visit or the “Material Girl” Facebook and Twitter pages to see more exciting imagery and behind the scenes videos featuring our Material Girl, along with Lola’s blog on what’s hot in fashion and a sweepstakes for a chance to meet Madonna at Macy’s Herald Square in September.

In character

And even more Kylie Minogue... If you thought this was Kylie having an extremely bad day, don't worry. She was merely getting in to character, complete with messy hair and fake tattoos, to film her part in new werewolf movie Jack And Diane.

Good job!

A little regret

According to The Sun, Kylie Minogue regrets not pushing record company bosses to allow songs about her breast cancer battle on her last album X.

The Aussie star headed into the studio for "emotional" recording sessions with producer pal Biff Stannard shortly after her hair grew back following intensive chemotherapy in 2005.

But label bosses rejected the personal tracks for inclusion on her 2007 album - and Kylie admits she'll always regret not convincing them to change their minds.

She told Attitude magazine: "As soon as I could get back in the studio, I went with hair not a centimetre long, I ran in there with Biff and we did five days of insane, emotional... the two of us will never forget it.

"I'd written songs about my experience, my illness, and they didn't make the album, I even don't know why. If they just weren't good enough songs, or the record company didn't think they were appropriate, I don't know. So there's a little regret about that."

Backstage at Glastonbury

Kylie Minogue posted this picture of herself and the Scissor Sisters on her Twitter account. It was taken last weekend after their performance of Any Which Way at Glastonbury Festival.

Eclipse - my review

Ziena and I went to see the Twilight Marathon yesterday, which of course included the premiere of Eclipse, so we were all excited for the big night. Both Twilight and New Moon were great to see on the big screen (both of us had previously only seen them on DVD), but then of course that wasn't what we came for.

So, at around 11.30 the lights went down for the third time, and the capacity audience applauded (this actually happened several times, mostly when either Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner came into view).

I haven't read any of the Twilight books, so the story was new to me, and I wasn't disappointed. Wasn't diappointed at all, in fact. It was a great movie, and a logical next step in The Twilight Saga. The characters made sense (not to mention looked hot!) and I could really get into the story.

Looking forward to the next movie, Breaking Dawn, already! Eclipse opens worldwide today, so get your tickets!

The lake house

Tonight on Dutch television: The Lake House, starring Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock and Willeke van Ammelrooy.

Twilight marathon

Tonight, my friend Ziena and I are going to the Twilight Marathon, which means we get to see Twilight and New Moon one more time on the big screen, followed by the premiere of Eclipse.

Expect a review tomorrow!

Never breaking up

There have been rumours for a couple of days now Fergie was leaving the Black Eyed Peas, because she wanted to have a baby.

Will.I.Am insists that the rumors are "all lies" and says that the Black Eyed Peas are "never breaking up."

So there you have it.

Rihanna cancelled

Rihanna has been forced to cancel her Last Girl On Earth show at the White River Amphitheatre in Washington. LiveNation claims the show was cancelled because of 'productional reasons', but one look at TicketMaster proves that unfortunately the US leg of the tour isn't selling all that well, so chances are this show was cancelled simply because not enough tickets were sold.

I've seen the show at Gelredome Stadium in the Netherlands, and I loved it. Come on Americans, buy your tickets!

Radio airplay

Katy Perry's "California Gurls" has broken the record for most weekly plays in the 17-year-history of Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart!

California Gurls got 11,816 plays the week of June 21-27, bypassing Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" that has 11,224 plays back in February.

It's a great song, so it's well-deserved!

First day of shooting posted this picture of Neve Campbell on the set of Scream 4 today. Filming started yesterday (yes!) and Neve's character Sydney Prescott apparently hasn't been killed off yet.

I'm SO looking forward to this movie!

I want it that way

The Backstreet Boys took a little break from their non-selling tour, and performed I Want It That Way at the San Fransisco Gay Pride festivities. Check out the action above.

Secret ceremony

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green got married in a secret ceremony in Hawaii last week, it was announced today.

RIP Sjoerd Kooistra

Dutch business tycoon Sjoerd Kooistra passed away last night, with the police assuming it to be a suicide. Sjoerd was the owner of numerous bars and clubs in the Netherlands, and a very controversional one at it. He was being investigated for avoiding taxes and was said to treat his employees very badly.

Rest in peace.

Vote for Katy

Thanks to the thirteen people who votes on last week's poll 'what's your favourite Jaws movie', here are the results:

Jaws - 6 votes
Jaws 2 - 2 votes
Jaws 3 - 3 votes
Jaws: The Revenge - 2 votes

I'm surprised Jaws 3 and The Revenge actually got votes!

For this week's poll, let me know what's your favourite Katy Perry single. Voting's on!

Anger management

3) Legend Of The Fall
4) Seven
5) Mr. and Mrs. Smith
6) Troy
7) Meet Joe Black
8) Kalifornia
9) 12 Monkeys
10) Snatch

Tour of earthly delights

Attention, Dutch Shakira fans: on December 1st, Shakira is playing a concert at Ahoy Rotterdam, as part of her Tour Of Earthly Delights 2010. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, July 3, through LiveNation and Eventim.

I've seen the Oral Fixation Tour at Gelredome Stadium back in 2007, and it was one of the worst concerts I've ever seen, so I won't be going.

Hell yeah

Kylie was as excited about performing with the Scissor Sisters as the 70,000 fans watching her on Saturday night at Glastonbury.

Singer Jake told The Sun: "I asked her three weeks ago and within three minutes she had replied. She was so excited, she just wrote 'HELL YEAH!'

Midwinter graces

With the Southern hemisphere having just passed through the Winter Solstice, Midwinter Graces has received some attention in the southern reaches of the globe, even if the more overtly Christmas-oriented elements of the album are half a year away. This review appeared on South Africa’s Exclusive Books storefront on the Solstice itself and is a nice overview of the album.

For bitter or worse - live in Amsterdam

I love this song: Anouk singing For Bitter Or Worse, live at Paradiso in Amsterdam.

Booming business

A new report shows that the theme park business, including Disney, is expected to grow over the next five years after slow attendance in recent years.

IBISWorld, a Santa Monica-based market research firm, predicts that theme parks should see 3.1 percent growth annually, or $12.1 billion, over the next five years, according to a report released last week. This year alone, revenue is expected to increase by 1.7 percent, or $10.4 billion.

“I think a lot of it is generally tied to the recovery of the economy and people having more disposable income to spend,” said Nima Samadi, an analyst for IBISWorld.

Last year, U.S. theme parks overall had dismal attendance, with revenues plummeting by 8.6 percent. Disney venues, however, were the only major U.S. parks to bring in more visitors.

Gorgeous in black

Kylie Minogue looked stunning dressed in a gorgeous black Jean Paul Gaultier dress at the American Foundation For Aids Research (amfAR) charity gala held in Paris on Friday night.

The black halter dress, also by Jean Paul Gaultier, that Kylie had worn at the amfAR charity event in New York earlier this month, fetched a incredible $24,770 dollars when it went under the hammer at the fundraiser!

Vanity Fair

Angelina Jolie is on the cover of the July issue of Vanity Fair, looking smoking hot! Is she really this beautiful, or is it just a truckload of photoshop?

Whatever it is, this shot is great!

Home team

Zac Efron shows his support for the home team as he attends a game on Sunday (June 27) at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles.

Zac sat right in front of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher as the Dodgers took on the New York Yankees! Unfortunately, his support didn't help the Dodgers, as they lost 6-8.

Legally divorced

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James are legally divorced.

The two signed the final divorce papers last week, sources tell TMZ. Sandra, who said that the marriage “has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities,” filed back on April 23 - she moved out of the family home in mid-March.

Sources also tell TMZ that the divorce’s finality means Sandra can officially adopt baby Louis as a single parent.

American leg

And speaking of Lady Gaga, tonight is the first show of the second North American leg of the Monster Ball Tour, at Bell Center in Montreal, Canada. I wonder if she's changed anything from the European version of the show.

If she does, make sure to catch the changes here, tomorrow!

Bad romance

And finally, from Elton John's White Tie And Tiara Ball, here's Lady Gaga singing Bad Romance.

Hope you've enjoyed the videos!

Poker face

Once again from Elton John's White Tie And Tiara Ball, here's Lady Gaga singing Poker Face.

From Elton John's White Tie And Tiara Ball, the AIDS benefit, watch Lady Gaga sing Speechless. After a couple of minutes, Sir Elton himself joins her on stage! Together they finish the song, mixed with Elton's classic Your Song.

Also from Elthon John's White Tie And Tiara Ball, here's Lady Gaga singing Alejandro.

You and I

This weekend, at Elton John's White Tie And Tiara Ball, Lady Gaga debuted a brand new song, called You And I.

Loving it!

This weekend, I bought Ke$ha's album Animal, containing hits such as TiK ToK, My Love Is Your Drug and Blah Blah Blah. I'm listening to it as we speak, and I'm loving it!

Great party album, to get you in the mood for clubbing!

Quarter final

After winning from Slovakia with 2-1 this afternoon, the Netherlands are now on their way to the quarter final in the FIFA World Cup 2010!

It would be great if we were to become world champion!!!

The Thomas Crown affair

Tonight on Dutch television: The Thomas Crown Affair, starring Pierce Brosnan, Rene Russo and Denis Leary.

Any which way

Yes yes yes! Kylie Minogue joined the Scissor Sisters at Glastonbury Festival to sing their song Any Which Way, and she killed it!

Guest of honour

Victoria Beckham was guest of honour at Diane Von Furstenberg's bash at Claridge's. And thanks to her strapless mini dress and thigh-high boots, Posh even upstaged Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna at the party.

Victoria said: "I was meant to go away with my kids today - it's really precious time I spend with them. I don't think there is anyone else in the industry for whom I'd change my holiday flights."

Huge numbers

Eminem sure is back with a vengeance! His new album, Recovery, is expected to sell about 750.000 in its first week alone! Those are huge numbers in this digital age!

Eat that, Christina (and Miley)!

A great laugh

One of the best parts of conservative websites, is the 'Letters to the editor' section! This classic letter arrived at WND*Mart today, I had a lot of fun reading it:

The Home Depot story is about the promotion of homosexuality to children, which is being actively supported by a very large, publicly traded corporation, to the probable detriment of its shareholders.

By publicly supporting the homosexual lifestyle, which is a political agenda, and facilitating the exposure of children (of presumably straight parents) to that lifestyle, Home Depot is jeopardizing its business revenue.

From what I can find on the Internet, approximately 50 million Americans follow NASCAR. It's irrelevant how Home Depot management, or even its stockholders, feel about homosexuality, because NASCAR fans have a vote in the matter … a big vote.

They are an intensely brand-loyal group, but they are loyal primarily to the drivers, not the sponsors.

They can and will, if provoked, cast anonymous votes against the sponsors with their feet and their wallets.

Corporate management is supposed to be solely concerned with advancing the financial interests of their stockholders.

Advancing social/political causes, especially in regard to hot-button issues like homosexuality, will run serious risk of antagonizing the huge number of NASCAR fans that Home Depot is trying to reach with its NASCAR sponsorship.

NASCAR fans are not a group one can characterize as being champions of the homosexual lifestyle. They are, at best, tolerant of it – but they are not tolerant of people or organizations that want to expose their children to things that go against their fundamental beliefs.

Home Depot should ask itself how many NASCAR customers, versus homosexual customers, one is likely to find at Home Depot.

Ask also which group represents the greater buying pool. It's not even close.

Around here, it's a tossup as to whether you go to Home Depot or Lowe's. They are undifferentiated businesses; they both stock the same stuff. It usually winds up being who is closer or cheaper. It would not take much to tip that decision and send customers to Lowe's.

I'm sure that Home Depot's sponsorship of homosexual events will bring them some new business. But then ask how much NASCAR business, in response, will turn right and drive over to Lowe's and Jimmie Johnson?

It's a business decision, and if I were holding Home Depot stock, I'd be telling them, "We don't pay you to advance people's social/political agendas. We pay you to make profits and dividends. What were you thinking?!"

The marketplace will sort this one out, as will the shareholders.

Jacob Theodore

Thank you Jacob, for this great laugh to start the day!

10x Johnny Depp

Lately I've been doing top tens every day, but I like doing them, so here we go again! Today, I'm doing a Johnny Depp top ten!

1) Pirates of the Carribean (film series)
2) Don Juan de Marco
3) Nick Of Time
4) Alice In Wonderland
5) Sweeney Todd
6) A Nightmare On Elm Street
7) What's Eating Gilbert Grape
8) Finding Neverland
9) Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas
10) Donnie Brasco

All the lovers - Friday Night

Kylie Minogue sang her fantastic new single All The Lovers at Friday Night With Jonathan Ross this weekend! Check out the performance above!

Brilliant, as always!

Tea party

Sir Elton John has presented Lady Gaga with an antique tea set - as a thank-you for singing at his charity ball.

A source said: "GaGa had a tour of his home and was awestruck by his collection. She kept complimenting him on it. He was tickled by her fascination so presented her with a set. She was over the moon with the present. It was a vintage set and probably worth a fair few bob."

Nice picture, too!

Singing together

Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams were spotted together on the set of the video for their upcoming duet Shame, which will be the lead single for Robbie's upcoming greatest hits album In And Out Of Conciousness.

Who would have thought they would be doing a duet ten years ago? Back then, it looked like they would never say a word to each other again, much less sing together. Looking forward to hearing the new single!

Pit stop

Britney Spears makes a quick pit stop at a gas station on Friday in Calabasas, California. Britney was escorted by her boyfriend, Jason Trawick, and a bodyguard.

Britney recently reunited with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, for their sons' preschool graduation. The couple “met up briefly,” according to People Magazine, and the boys went out for Happy Meals at McDonalds afterwards.

Monte Carlo

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and Australian actor Luke Bracey share a laugh as they shoot new scenes for their flick Monte Carlo beachside on Friday in Monaco. They're not a couple in real life, but they sure could have fooled me!

And finally, here's Tori Amos singing Bliss at Late Night With David Letterman. I remember the first time this came on, it was the middle of the night in the Netherlands, and my mother and I stayed up just to watch the performance. And it was totally worth it!

Cornflake girl

Not solo, but a great performance nonetheless, here's Tori Amos singing Cornflake Girl live at Soundstage in Chicago.

Lady in blue

Also from Absolute Radio, here's Tori Amos performing Lady In Blue, live and solo.

Fire to your plain

To celebrate the fact Tori Amos comes to the Netherlands for a second show this year, I feel like posting some of her solo performances today! Here we go, let's start with Fire To Your Plain, live at Absolute Radio.

On sale

Don't forget, if you've missed the pre-sale yesterday, just half an hour ago the general sale for Tori Amos - The Week Of The Metropole at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam started!

It's going to be a fantastic show, so get your tickets at LiveNation or Eventim.

amFAR gala

Kylie Minogue hosted last night's amFAR Gala in Paris, looking smashing in her Jean Paul Gaultier dress.

Just nonsense rumours

David and Victoria Beckham have been forced to deny they are splitting up after wild rumours swept the Internet.

Social networking sites and message boards were buzzing this morning with speculation that the pair were going to "imminently" announce their divorce.

However their spokesperson Jo Milloy today told Sky: "This is not true, there is no separation and no announcement. Just nonsense rumours."

David and Victoria have been married for 11 years and have three sons.

Kinda cute

I'm not a fan of the Jonas Brothers (yes, kill me...) but this picture of Joe Jonas (the only one that's actually goodlooking) is kinda cute!

Breaking records

Even before Twilight: Eclipse has been released in theaters, it is already breaking records. Right now Eclipse is both Fandango's and's top advance ticket-seller of the year.

On Fandango, Eclipse has topped the Top 5 ticket-sellers on a daily basis ever since tickets first went on sale five weeks ago and has been voted by users as The Most Anticipated Movie Of The Summer. The flick currently leads the Fandango Five with over 52% of daily ticket sales!

I'm looking forward to next Tuesday, when I get to see the film!
