Bidding war

From The Sun:

THE £100million bidding war for ROBBIE WILLIAMS is hotting up - with the RCA label pulling out all the stops to sign him.
Rob inked an £80million agreement with EMI in 2002, but with the release of his Greatest Hits collection later in the year he will have fulfilled all his obligations.

And now the Sony stable, which is home to SHAKIRA and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, want the solo star on board.

They recently appointed CHRIS BRIGGS, one of his closest industry chums, to an executive role. The A&R veteran rescued Robbie's career from failure in its early days.

A string of underperforming singles saw the singer on the brink of being dropped. But then Briggs put Rob in contact with songwriter GUY CHAMBERS and the pair came up with a string of hits which included the career-saving Angels.

An industry source said: "RCA have played a blinder by getting Chris on board.

"He's one of the most significant figures in Robbie's life and it's sure to influence his decision whether he signs with them."

RCA have made another canny move - they've signed Oz singer SIA, a gesture that will please Robbie's management who also represent her.

Also looking to get him on the books are Universal, who count TAKE THAT as clients. But as the deal-makers wave their contracts at him, Rob is yet to make a decision about the future of his solo career.

Still, he faces a busy 18 months. He's back with his old Take That bandmates for their tour next summer and immediately after that Rob will start recording sessions for his next solo album which he hopes will be released by Christmas 2011.

Gay factor

Obviously everyone knew already, but now it's official: British X Factor winner Joe McElderry is gay, he told The Sun today.

Did it come as a surprise to anyone?

Laughing like a hyena

Daniel Radcliffe celebrated his 21st birthday at a Russian club this week.

The actor necked neat vodka, danced on chairs and even commandeered the bar to mix cocktails as he partied with two male friends on a mini-break.

Onlooker Katya, who was at St Petersburg's 48 Chairs club when Daniel let his hair down last Saturday, said: "We were stunned when we realised it was Harry Potter. He was just fab.

"He enjoyed himself so much. He was laughing like a hyena all night."

Kraken

The second ride video today, is Kraken, at SeaWorld Orlando. Enjoy!

Fata Morgana

For the first on-board ride video today, let's stay a little closer at home: Fata Morgana, at De Efteling, a fantastic darkride matching Disney in every aspect.

Sarah doesn't agree

Sarah Palin, who barely knows how to breathe, does not agree with President Barack Obama's appearance on daily talkshow The View, earlier this week.

She tweeted, “President with no time to visit porous US/Mexican border to offer help to those risking life to secure us, but lotso’ time to chat on The View? I’m headed to border in near future… let’s see how quickly his travel schedule will allow that border visit after all.”

Does she even know what countries border the USA?

Very grounded

“Director Burr Steers doesn’t do sappy, you know what I mean? Burr is very grounded,” Zac Efron told MTV News, about his new movie Charlie St. Cloud. “He is all about story and dialogue and plot and all about real.”

“I wanted to make sure the audience got what they needed from it,” Zac said. “Hopefully they are fulfilled and leave asking some cool questions. I don’t want to look back and say I just made movies because it was fun, you know? I want to make movies because it’s challenging and it’s an opportunity to help people.”

Smoking again

What's this, Madonna? Smoking again? How does this fit in with that ridiculous fitness regime you're living by?

Madonna was photographed in South France, where she is filming her new (disaster) movie W.E. And by the looks of it, that very much looks like a cigarette in her hand.

Vanity Fair

Lady Gaga is on the cover of the September issue of Vanity Fair magazine! She looks gorgeous (as opposed to the typical. I love Lady Gaga, but I don't find her a very attractive woman).

Hello, mr. Ghostface

Scream 4 director Wes Craven has published the very first picture of Ghostface from the new movie! Check it out by clicking here!

Can't wait for the film to come out, I love all things Scream!

Help Equality California

A supporter of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) offered a solution to “gay” marriage at an anti-LGBT rally in Indianapolis this week: Hang same-sex couples. NOM supporters don’t think it’s enough to take away our rights. They want to take away our lives. These threats cannot go unchallenged.

The National Organization for Marriage is committed to ensuring that same-sex couples never have the right to marry. And while they might not seriously try to kill every same-sex couple in California, they are determined to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to elect candidates, build coalitions and work with other extremists to ensure that we never have marriage equality in our state.
Please make a donation today to help Equality California to continue to stand strong against NOM in California!

Don’t think for a second that the money NOM is raising on its national bus tour won’t find its way back to California. Not only is NOM opposing the federal trial against Prop. 8, they have launched a new California-based organization called the Ruth Institute that is trying to convince younger people—who we know resoundingly support full equality—to change their minds on marriage for same-sex couples.
If we are to restore the freedom to marry permanently in California, and if we are to secure full equality and nothing less, we have to continue to stand strong against NOM. We can’t let them gain ground for even a second. Can you help Equality California today?

NOM and their allies are trying to claim again and again that advocates for LGBT equality are intimidating and threatening them. But this sign from the rally—and so many other examples—show that the opposite is true.

Bad romance - live in Arnhem

From the fantastic Monster Ball Ball Tour, here's Lady Gaga singing the final song Bad Romance, live at Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem.

I was front row!!!

America by heart

It's good to know Sarah Palin is doing another new book (she's actually building a franchise). Her new book is called America By Heart, and I'm sure with her intelligence, it will be a masterpiece of American patriotism.

If only she can locate the various states.

Walk of fame

Mark Wahlberg received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame today! For which mobies, one might wonder....

Congratulations, anyway!

Alanis, come back!

I've been browsing Alanis Morissette's website a bit, and I've noticed she's still doing TV appearances every once in a while. That's a good thing, as it means she hasn't left the music industry as much as it sometimes appears she has. When you click on the 'tour' button on her website, you only get some very, very small shows, instead of the arenas she used to play.

However, the fact she's still coming on TV shows hopefully says something. I would L-O-V-E a new album!

Girlie Show Gallery

As I said: the Girlie Show Tour was Madonna at her finest, so to remember all the fun, here's a little gallery I put together:

She used to be so much fun

As I'm writing this, I'm watching Madonna's Girlie Show World Tour 1993, filmed at the Cricket Grounds Stadium in Sydney, Australia. It was released in 1994 on the longform video The Girlie Show: Live Down Under, and I got it as a birthday present from my parents when I turned 14. I remember it being the best show I had ever seen (I was only 14, so I hadn't actually seen a pop concert for real, just on videos) and watched it over and over again.

Many years later, back in 2004 (exactly ten years after), I got myself the Girlie Show: Live Down Under DVD, and I was just as much in love with it as I was with the video ten years earlier (I actually watched the video so many times it broke! that says enough about how much I loved it!). And now that I'm watching it again, I have to say: as much as I dislike Madonna now, she was SO good back then. Sure, she has never been the best singer, and she has never been the best dancer, but she knew how to put on a show!

It's sad to see the old Madonna has disappeared completely. I mean, it didn't happen overnight. I've seen her in concert for 13 times, the last time in 2008, but looking back on all these performances, no matter how fantastic some of them were (my first one.... Drowned World Tour at Max Schmeling Arena in Berlin, my first front row.... Re-Invention Tour at POP Bercy in Paris, Madonna touching my hand, Confessions Tour at POP Bercy in Paris), the magic just isn't there anymore. She used to be so much more fun.

Martha's Vineyard

Remember this lighthouse? It's the lighthouse featured in the original Jaws movie (not the big white one in Jaws 2). It's on Martha's Vineyard, the place where Jaws 1, 2 and the opening scenes of Jaws the Revenge were filmed.

It would be way cool (as I am a huge Jaws fan, for all my life, as I can remember) to visit the island one time! Until then, they've got a great website, and if you look closely, you can spot many more places featured in Jaws!

Keep supporting the Home Depot

Want to know why the AFA (American Family Association, better know as Ignorant Hate Group) is boycotting the Home Depot? Here are their reasons (beware the term 'homosexual' in English is not the correct term to refer to gays, the AFA likes to use this term as a form of namecalling, which is like calling an African American a 'nigger', however, to show just how silly they are, I decided not to alter their ignorant language):

•In June 2010, The Home Depot set up a "Kids Workshop" as a vendor at the Southern Maine Pride Festival and parade. Read more.

•In 2009, The Home Depot gave over $5,000 to be a major sponsor of the Nashville Gay Pride Festival. It also sponsored parades in Atlanta, Kansas City, Portland and San Diego. Read more.

•The Home Depot offers insurance benefits that cover sex-changes operations for employees. That insurance also extends to same-sex partners of homosexual employees, proving The Home Depot considers gay couples as "married." Source: Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index

•In 2008, The Home Depot sponsored the Durham Pride Weekend with a kid's workshop and parade march. The events include "massages for couples" and "Drag Shows."

•As early as 2005, The Home Depot placed a full-page ad in the Out & Equal homosexual workplace conference program guide

Big whoop! What a horrible, horrible company the Home Depot must be... Giving money to support people and to support communities! Yes, that does sound like a great injustice!

Read my e-mail of support to the Home Depot by clicking here, and their kind reply by clicking here.

Please keep supporting the Home Depot, and make sure you tell them why you are supporting them: because of gay (not homosexual) rights! Thank you!

Facebook: not for me

About a year ago, for a brief hour, I created myself a Facebook account. That same evening, I deleted it, since I didn't have a clue of what to do with it. Just a minute ago, I was browsing a bit of info on Facebook, wondering if I might rejoin, but I still don't know why I should.

Of course, Twitter has no use whatsoever either, but I enjoy reading other people's tweets, and I enjoy writing my own. Besides, it only takes a few seconds to write a tweet, so you can do it in between whatever it is you're doing. Facebook, on the other hand, seems like it's extremely time consuming. Also, I wouldn't even know where to start.

The bad thing is, practically everyone I know is on Facebook, except for me. Am I living in the Middle Ages?

Glitter

From the day we met, my boyfriend and I were planning on watching Mariah Carey's movie Glitter, simply because, like Britney Spears' Crossroads, it's one of those must-see movies. It's so bad, it actually becomes fun.

I've seen it about 5 years ago and couldn't stop laughing (which was not the purpose of the film), so now that I've ordered it online, I can't wait for it to get delivered so that we can have a laugh about it once again!

Conserve turtles

The Sea Turtle Conservancy, formerly known as the Caribbean Conservation Corporation, is the world's oldest sea turtle research and conservation group. An international nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization, Sea Turtle Conservancy was founded in 1959 by world-renowned sea turtle expert Dr. Archie Carr to save sea turtles from eminent extinction through rigorous science-based conservation. Headquartered in Florida, the organization carries out worldwide programs to conserve and recover sea turtle populations through research, education, advocacy and protection of the natural habitats upon which depend upon. Over the course of 50 years, Sea Turtle Conservancy's research programs s have yielded much of what is now known about sea turtles and the threats they face, and the organization is applying this knowledge to carry out the world's most successful sea turtle protection and recovery programs.

Sea turtle fans around the world are encouraged to embrace the new name of the “original” sea turtle conservation group by becoming a member and supporting Sea Turtle Conservancy's ongoing research, protection and advocacy programs.

Something's biting

A Hamilton County teenager was attacked by a shark while on vacation near Charleston, South Carolina. It happened at a popular vacation spot called Isle Of Palms.

16-year-old Alex Stamm had to get 40 stitches in his leg after the shark attacked him.

Stamm says he was in waist deep water when he felt something biting his leg. He says he looked up and saw the shark’s tail swimming away. He thinks the shark was about four feet long.

Tour dates

According to ITV, Take That have confirmed that they hope to gain access to an 11 date tour in America as well as making an appearance at next year's Glastonbury Festival in the UK. All of this would be in addition to the 50 date tour they're planning right now for 2011.

Hopefully, they'll play a show at Ahoy Rotterdam as well!

The Summer Carnival is over

P!nk's Funhouse Summer Carnival concluded last weekend with a final show in Norway, but unfortunately, as of yet, no word is out as to the very important question: will there be a DVD.

I haven't heard of a truckload of extra camera's at any of the 34 shows, so there might be a chance this show, which looks fantastic on YouTube (and, as one of my co-workers, who saw the show at the Olympia Reitstadion in Munich says: is fabulous) will never be released on official DVD.

That would be such a shame!

Strip club

Zac Efron confirmed to Jimmy Kimmel that he and Corbin Bleu visited a strip club in New York City this past weekend.

Zac said “I had this image of what it’d be like. I’ve heard a lot about these places, mostly from rap music - they’re ’sposed to be pretty reputable! So I envisioned myself in a nice couch with stunna shades with T-Pain and Usher making it rain money! And it just wasn’t like that.”

Great movie ride

The second ride today is the Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Goliath

Let's do two more ride videos! The first one is Goliath, the highest roller coaster of the Benelux, and my favourite ride at Walibi World in Biddinghuizen.

One big happy family

"I adore Jake. He can't be my gay husband, as Willy has that title. So Jake is one of my gay flings. But the straight husband along has to get along with the gay husband. We all have to be one big happy family and thankfully I've got that with Andres."

Kylie Minogue, talking about Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters, her concert designer and stylist William Baker, and her boyfriend Andres Velencoso.

Natural born citizen

You know how the Tea Party idiots are constantly claiming Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen (with all the stupid 'Where's the birth certificatie nonsense). Well, today one of the readers of WND*Mart (WorldNetDaily) send in a great letter, which totally describes the stupidity of the tea party movement:

Your article discusses several possibilities for "natural born" – but if you mentioned the most obvious I must have missed it. Somebody just needs to check to see if the president's mom had a C-section. If not, then there's no problem.

Great letter!

At the zoo

Leona Lewis and her possibly new boyfriend spent the day admiring the wildlife at the Tierpark Hagenbeck zoo in Stellingen. It's a well known fact Leona loves animals, as she's actively involved in several animal rights campaigns.

Here she is feeding the rodents at the park.

Alejandro - live on Idol

There's a slight chance I've posted this before, but I can't remember, and it's good enough to post again in case I did: Lady Gaga, performing Alejandro on American Idol.

Enjoy!

10x U2

Not a big fan of their shows (I've seen the Vertigo Tour at the Amsterdam ArenA) but I do like their music, so I thought it would be fun to do a U2 Top 10. Here we go:

1) One
2) Pride (In The Name Of Love)
3) Sunday Bloody Sunday
4) Where The Streets Have No Name
5) City Of Blinding Lights
6) Vertigo
7) With Or Without You
8) Beautiful Day
9) Magnificent
10) Even Better Than The Real Thing

What are yours?

Tori talks to Ylex

While Tori was in Finland recently, she sat down and chatted with the Finnish radio station Ylex about performing in Finland, her work and other current projects. During the interview, she indicated that The Light Princess musical is currently expected to be shown in 2012 (and, as a result, that she probably will not tour again until after that), talked at length about the upcoming performance with The Metropole Orchestra in Amsterdam and mentioned a secret project that she has been approached about. While she didn’t provide many details about this project, she did say that it didn’t fit into the standard pop mold and that was one of the reasons why she found it an intriguing possibility.

Also, at the end of the interview, she talks a little about Lady Gaga!

The view

President Barack Obama taped an episode of The View this morning. Check out some highlights above.

Total bitch

Speaking of Madonna, turns out she's been behaving like the total bitch she is once again. While on a commercial airliner, this is how Madonna, according to a source, was behaving:

The cabin crew were given a dossier on rules and requirements. They weren't allowed to walk down her aisle or ask her any questions, they had to go through her assistants. It was ridiculous. She took over the whole plane.

Then, someone commented on the story, having this to say:

TOTALLY believe it! Based on my experience with the bitch (loved her music…until I encountered her). I was her waiter at a restaurant in Chicago. Other waitstaff, bus-personnel were forbid to come into the area of Madge's (very public) table, her security detail instructed that I must avert my eyes from looking directly at her, at NO time was I to speak to her (as in take the royal Heinous' dinner order) but rather -again, go through her security personnel. The whole nonevent was beyond ridiculous-I ask the security guy what she'd like to order, he asks her, she tells him, he repeats to me. UGH! Demands were also made that fellow diners in the area be cleared away from the bitch's table. She was rude, demanding, insulting. a complete boorish excuse for white trash.

What a total, stupid, ignorant, arrogant bitch!

Please don't tour

According to several news outlets today, Madonna is planning another world tour (as if the last one sold so well) starting the end of this year. The tour supposedly has a hiphop feel to it, and will be the biggest of her career so far, lasting six months and ending at the O2 Arena in London.

Maybe Madonna and LiveNation have forgotten how none of last year's Sticky & Sweet shows sold out, and she actually had to cancel several of them because of shiteous ticket sales? Surely they can't be so stupid to let her career sink even further, can they?

On the other hand, fans that do attend the show, will have lots of room to dance on the empty arena floors!

Your Jason Beitel fix

Jason Beitel keeps posting new pictures of himself on his Twitter account, and who are we to complain? Two new ones today: on his way to a photoshoot, and on the actual shoot itself.

Enjoy!

Unthinkable

Last night I went to see Unthinkable at the cinema. It stars Samuel L. Jackson and Carrie Ann Moss, and deals with an American Muslim terrorist who has hidden several nuclear bombs in major U.S. cities and threatens to explode them if the President of the United States doesn't meet certain demands regarding his Middle East policy.

This may sound like your average '24' kind of action movie, but instead I found the film to be much more of a psychological story. Most of the movie takes place within an army/FBI headquarter, where the suspect of the imminent attack is being interrogated. Basically what the film is about, is how far not only he, but also the intelligence services, are willing to go.

As far as I can tell Unthinkable hasn't been advertised a lot, but if you've got the chance, go and see it. Highly recommended!

Light me up

Here's the first look at the cover of Light Me Up, the upcoming album by Taylor Momsen and her band The Pretty Reckless.

Taylor, of course, plays Jenny Humphry in Gossip Girl. Lately, she's been pretty busy with her singing career. The album comes out on August 30.

Pool party

In between Monster Ball shows in Dallas and Houston (Texas), Lady Gaga took some time out for a pool party.

Funny how she suddenly looks like a totally normal 24-year old, instead of the outrageous stage character she created for herself.
