New chairman

Hate group the National Organization for Marriage, also known as NOM (again, how do they come up with these innocent sounding names?) has appointed John Eastman, as its new chairman of the board. The former candidate for state attorney general and former Chapman University Law School dean will replace the group's co-founder, super-bitch Maggie Gallagher, who is finishing her book Debating Same-Sex Marriage. Could he do any worse? Oh, sure he can!

Eastman has been a hater at the forefront of the equal rights battle in California and has worked to defend the totally illegal Proposition H8. He has also participated in landmark cases concerning the Pledge of Allegiance, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act. He tells One"News"Now he is delighted to work with the organization. In other words: he's a total scumbag.

"I envision my role as the chairman of the board as kind of encouraging and facilitating where I can the work that they've already done and been doing and have planned to continue doing," he brags, meaning he's looking forward to being a front person for the hate platform.

Let's hope this motherfucker doesn't get what he wants.

It was already official Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias were recording a duet, and tonight it surfaced! Called Mouth2Mouth, it's a sensual midtempo song, and it kicks ass! It has number one hit single written all over it!

Expressed an interest

"I actually have some enormous news for you. We’ve just started telling people. Madonna has expressed a great interest in recording one of our songs and William Orbit wants to produce it. That’s like wow, we honestly are so lucky. We couldn’t be more excited. It’s not 100% confirmed but she has expressed an interest."

Australian sisters Mim and Liv aka Nervo - who wrote dance-pop hits for David Guetta, Kylie Minogue and more, telling music blogger Jon Aliaga how Madonna has expressed interest in recording one of their songs for her new album.

Second trailer

A brand new, second trailer for Paranormal Activity 3 has been released today! Check it out above! Scary!

Something else

Rihanna has fallen for a hunky former British Olympic boxing hopeful. Rihanna has been "flirting outrageously" with model Dudley O'Shaughnessy — who she hand-picked for the video of her next single We Found Love.

A source on the video shoot in Northern Ireland said: "Rihanna was making no secret that she fancied the pants off Dudley. They hit it off straight away. She had seen his modelling shots and other pictures when he was a boxer. Rihanna took every opportunity to get close to him and at one point she was sitting in his lap during a break from filming. She's very tactile anyway, but this was something else."

Night of hunters

It's been out for about a week now in the Netherlands, so last night I ordered myself a copy of Tori Amos' latest album Night of Hunters. Here's the tracklist:

Shattering Sea
Battle Of Trees
Cactus Practice
Star Whisperer
Job's Coffin
Nautical Twilight
Your Ghost
Edge Of The Moon
The Chase
Night Of Hunters
Seven Sisters

Can't wait for it to arrive!

New writer

During a recent interview, director Wes Craven opened up further about Scream 5, and he pretty much confirmed that they're looking for a new writer:

"My wife Iya Labunka, who produced the picture, and I are just taking the summer off and acting like there's only a world here where we are and nowhere else. But I assume that Bob is looking for a writer. I think Kevin Williamson's television schedule has kept him from being able to be a writer all the way through the film, which is what I think Bob is looking for. I'm sure he is looking for someone."

No matter who's writing it, I'm sure it will be yet another great installment in the Scream franchise!

Family trip

P!nk and her 4 months old daughter Willow Sage were captured on photograph during a little break in New York City the three of them (husband Carey Heart was also along on the trip) were taken.

They're both looking great!

Not a lesbian

Ever so often, rumors hit the internet claiming Kelly Clarkson is a lesbian. To finally get rid of the false gossip, Kelly said in an interview today:

"I just think it is very ignorant to assume that you know everything about someone … People keep saying that I'm gay and … yeah, I'm not. I'm pretty sure I've never made out with girl. Sometimes, I wish I were because at this point, I would probably get hit on by a lot of girls! t's just not helping me because I am straight. No boy wants to hit on my because I make mean songs about them and they think I'm gay."

And there you have it.

Oscar or no Oscar

“Oscar or no Oscar this movie remains a great piece of material for me. I think it’s just to early to talk about that kind of stuff. It’s all good fun if your number comes up but it is even more fun when a friend’s number comes up.”

Brad Pitt, talking about his latest movie Moneyball.

Angry tweet

Ashton Kutcher send a rather angry tweet this morning, adding extra fuel to the rumors he and wife Demi Moore are splitting up:

"When you ASSUME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME"

Is this the beginning of the end? Their age difference was kind of ridiculous to begin with, so it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Second half

The creators of South Park announced today the second half of the 15th season will start next week, on ctober 5. I love the fact this show is still on, and new seasons are created every year. Unlike many sitcoms, South Park has never lost its humor and I love every new season they produce!

Nightlife exchange

As you know, Madonna is taking part in Smirnoff’s Nightlife Exchange Project, which is giving one lucky fan a chance to join the Material Girl on her next tour. Now, some more details have surfaced:

Head on over to Smirnoff’s YouTube page for more info and details and be sure to upload a 60-second dance clip before October 10. Madonna will then be attending an event in NYC on November 12 to pick that one dancer for her tour. Good luck!

Marry the night

Lady Gaga’s latest song “Yoü And I” is still among the top ten singles according to Billboard, but the singer is already planning her next radio release. The fifth cut from Gaga’s multi-platinum album Born This Way is the fan favorite dance track “Marry The Night,” which was produced by Fernando Garibay and is inspired by Gaga’s love for her hometown New York City.

“I wrote so many songs on this new album about New York City, but one in particular ‘Marry The Night,’ that record is about my husband, New York,” she told MTV prior to the album release.

Cruel - live in Helsinki

And finally, for tonight, enjoy Tori Amos singing Cruel, at the first stop of the Night Of Hunters Tour at Ice Hall in Helsinki last night.

More to come tomorrow!

Mrs. Jesus - live in Helsinki

Tori Amos kicked off her Night Of Hunters Tour at the Ice Hall in Helsinki, Finland last night, so to celebrate that, let's have a look at some videos from last night's show. To start with, please enjoy Tori singing Suede.

The one that got away

Katy Perry has unveiled the artwork for her new single “The One That Got Away”. The single, which was serviced to U.S. Top 40/Mainstream radio stations yesterday, is the sixth single to be released from Katy’s 2010 album Teenage Dream.

The album’s previous five singles — “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.,” and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” — all peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart as well as on the Hot 100 chart. Katy is only the second artist, and the first female, to notch five No. 1’s in the Hot 100’s 53-year history.

“I’m so pleased to select ‘The One That Got Away’ as my 6th single because this song shows a very different side of me that I haven’t shown with my past singles on this record. I think that everyone can relate to this song. I wrote this song about when you promise someone forever, but you end up not being able to follow through. It’s a bittersweet story – hopefully, the listener learns from hearing it and never has to say they had ‘The One’ get away” states Katy.

Album delayed

Leona Lewis has delayed the release of her third studio album, Glassheart. The release of the album has been pushed back from it’s original release date of November 28, 2011 to an unknown date.

Lewis wrote on Twitter: “Just wanted to update everyone on the album! I’m feeling so inspired right now and have decided to continue recording!” She added: “I have a collection of songs that I’m so in love with and I no there’s more to be born so it means the album will come early next year.”

Tonight on Dutch television: Spanglish, starring Adam Sandler, Téa Leoni and Paz Vega.

Just normal

"I think she's terrific. When I'm chatting to her, she's just normal, the opposite of grand. We'll meet in a restaurant with friends. Or hang out at a party. She's always interesting and interested. She’s smart as hell and keeps her eyes peeled. She misses nothing."

Liza Minnelli, talking about Madonna with the Daily Mail.

EMA host

Disney star Selena Gomez was just announced as the host for MTV 2011 Europe Music Awards! The event will take place at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on November 6th.

“I’m so excited to be the host of the 2011 MTV EMA – it’s a dream come true,” Selena shared in a statement.

Community service

Yummy yummy Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford just won a big victory in a small Texas town, after a judge dismissed his marijuana possession case. Chace was arrested in June, 2010 in Plano, Texas, after cops found an unlit joint in a car in which he was a passenger.
Chace cut a deal with the prsecutor, in which the charge would be dismissed if he stayed clean for one year and performed community service. The judge just dismissed the case, after Chace's lawyer presented evidence his client performed 80 hours of community service in Texas, working in a hospital and a church.

Reach for the moon

Jennifer Aniston designed a “Reach for the Moon” tee, and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the shirt will go toward finding a cure for breast cancer.

Meeting the president

Desperate Housewifes star Eva Longoria was one of the high powered Hollywood stars at a fundraiser for Barack Obama on Monday, and she gushed about the opportunity to meet the President in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday night.
"It's a special privilege to meet our commander-in-chief, I'm a big Obama supporter no matter what he's been through -- he's been beaten up the past couple of years," Longoria gushed, enthused about the expensive event. "He's been very receptive for me, I'm a big advocate for Latino issues, and so he's been a big listener and he's done a lot of coalitions and round tables regarding what we want changed."

And here's the trailer

In case you haven't seen the movie yet, check out the official trailer for Shark Night 3D.

Shark night 3D

My friend Ziena and I went to the cinema this evening to watch the latest shark movie Shark Night 3D. You may have noticed already I'm a bit of a shark week, so every time a new horror movie involving these animals comes out, I'm seeing it! This one was no exception, and I really enjoyed watching it. Sure, the movie won't win an Oscar anytime soon, and of course, like every shark movie ever made, it's a bit of a Jaws ripoff, but it was very enjoable nonetheless. The sharks looked pretty real, even during the attack scenes, and I jumped out of my seat a couple of times, which is always good when it comes to horror movies.

On the negative side: the 3D effects were very minimal and toally unnecessary, so this movie could have been 2 Euro's cheaper if they had just left these effects out on the whole. Still, we had fun watching it, so I'm glad I went.

Fun stamps

And speaking of Lady Gaga, the United States Postal Service announced this week that it was tossing out its rule that that stamps can only feature dead individuals and is asking the public for suggestions on who should become the first living person to receive the honor.
And Lady Gaga is in the running! The singer, who won more than 100 awards in just three years and was named the world’s most powerful celebrity by TIME and Forbes, is among popular candidates on USPS’s Facebook page as well as the readers’ poll on MSNBC. Other nominees include Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Bob Dylan and Mark Zuckerberg.

“Having really nice, relevant, interesting, fun stamps might make a difference in people’s decisions to mail a letter,” Stamp Services manager Stephen Kearney said in a statement. Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe added: “This change will enable us to pay tribute to individuals for their achievements while they are still alive to enjoy the honor.”

Chart news

Lady Gaga’s latest single “Yoü And I” is top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a fourth consecutive week. The track moves up to two spots to number eight on this week’s chart with 114,000 digital downloads and 60 million radio audience impressions.

On Billboard’s albums chart, Born This Way is back in the top 20 with 20,000 copies sold and a 12% increase from the previous week. The album has moved 1.8 million copies in the United States so far, while its worldwide total currently stands at over 7.2 million units shifted.

At number one is Tony Bennett with Duets II, which features his rendition of the jazz classic “The Lady Is A Tramp” with Lady Gaga. The CD debuts with 179,000 copies sold in its opening week, becoming Bennett’s first number one record after sixty years and making the 85-year old performer the oldest living act to top a Billboard chart.

The tour starts

Tonight, September 28th, the European leg of the Night of Hunters Tour gets under way in Helsinki, Finland, followed closely by the two Russian shows, St. Petersburg on Friday and Moscow on Sunday. After that, Tori Amos meanders around the rest of the Continent, the UK, South Africa and North America, ending the tour in Texas in late December.

I can't wait to see my two shows on October 15 in Eindhoven, and October 17 in Amsterdam!

Shark scare

A swimmer was fighting for his life today after being mauled by a Great White shark. Michael Cohen — aged 42 and believed to be British — lost most of his right leg and part of his left foot after being attacked as he swam off the coast of South Africa. And incredibly, the shadowy figure of a lone shark patrolling the bay was captured on film just minutes after the horror attack (pictured above).

NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said: "It is a fact that there are sharks in the water around Cape Town. "This morning there was an alarm raised when a shark was sighted, and the beaches were closed. In practice, though, you cannot physically stop people from entering the water."

Rock in Rio

Katy Perry punched the air while wearing a comic strip-style dress and getting stuck into the Red Bull at an afterparty celebrating the opening night of the Brazilian music festival Rock In Rio.

Stop filming

An angry farmer ordered Rihanna to stop filming her new video We Found Love on his land after he saw her dancing bare-breasted in his wheat. Alan Graham, 61, rumbled up to the American superstar on his tractor to give her the ticking off.

The landowner said yesterday: "I realised things had got to a stage which were not acceptable to me. Things became inappropriate and I asked the film crew to stop. I had a conversation with Rihanna and I hope she understands where I'm coming from. We shook hands."

Is my son gay?

Targeting mothers who are questioning whether their kid might be gay, the new Android application Is My Son Gay asks whether their son "is very careful when choosing outfits," or if he "likes football" rather than "musical comedies"1. The app goes even further to insinuate that getting a divorce can make your son gay.

It's time to stop recycling the same, tired stereotypes and encouraging gay paranoia just to make a buck. Apple, makers of the iPhone, have pulled ex-gay applications in the past2, and Google has yanked some for violating user agreements3, which also bans hate speech4. The Google team now says they are investigating the issue5, but if we can get to 10,000 signatures, we'll show the team at Google's Android Marketplace that this app has got to go now.

10x Lady Gaga

I just noticed I haven't done a Lady Gaga top ten since Born This Way has been released, so here we go. To make things easy, I chose only to include songs that have been released as a single:

1) Born This Way
2) Bad Romance
3) Judas
4) Just Dance
5) Alejandro
6) The Edge Of Glory
7) Ey Ey
8) You And I
9) Telephone
10) Paparazzi

What are yours?

Would anyone like a ticket?

Tickets for Britney Spears' Femme Fatale Tour at Ahoy Rotterdam are selling so badly, scalpers have reduced their prices even more in a desperate attempt to not get stuck with their overload of tickets. General Admission Floor tickets are now only 55 Euro's, while lower tier seated tickets go for as little as 49 Euro's.

Although I'm sure Britney puts on a great show, I'm glad to hear the Dutch public isn't buying into her lip sync act, and will leave the Ahoy more than half empty during next month's show.

On the set

Check out this very first images from the set of the video shoot for Rihanna's video for her latest smash hit single We Found Love. The video will be shot at County Down in Northern ireland, since Rihanna has landed in Europe for the European leg of her LOUD Tour (which I will be seeing on November 9th at Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem, the Netherlands).

A single image

Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfieffer go gothic in the first official picture from Dark Shadows. Director Tim Burton released the shot from the set of the vampire drama, based on a cult sixties TV show of the same name. And he revealed he couldn't resist the chance to snap the stellar cast, which also includes Johnny Lee Miller, Chloe Moretz and Tim's missus Helena Bonham Carter.

He told Entertainment Weekly: "I remember seeing a group photograph of the cast of the original series. For me it captured the weird Dark Shadows vibe in a single image. I had a brief window of opportunity to have our cast present at the same time, the day before principle photography began. We decided to stage a similar picture instead of rehearsing, to see if we captured the Dark Shadows feeling."

iHeartRadio: You and I

Last, but certainly not least, enjoy Lady Gaga singing You And I, live at iHeartRadio Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las vegas.

More to come tomorrow!

iHeartRadio: Stand by me/King of pain

Lady Gaga, tgether with Sting, singing Stand By Me and King Of Pain, during the iHeartRadio Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, last Saturday.

Incidentally, during the first of my two Monster Balls shows, at Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem,. she also sang Stand By Me, and it was wonderful!

iHeartRadio: Hair

Enjoy Lady Gaga singing Hair, live during the iHeartRadio Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, which she dedicated to Jamey Rodermeyer, the little boy who commited suicide last week because of him being bullied for being gay.

Absolutely amazing.

iHeartRadio: Scheiße/Judas

As promised, let's have a look at Lady gaa's fantastic performance at iHeartRadio Festival this weekend. Over the course of a couple of days I'm planning to post as many songs from the one hour show I can find, starting today with the opening song, a mash up of Scheiße and Judas, live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

This would be a great opener for the Born This Way Ball Tour as well!

Gazette interview

Celine Dion was recently interviewed by Brendan Kelly of the Montreal Gazette. Details from his conversation with Celine will be featured in a full-length article in the Gazette on Saturday, October 1. In the meantime, you can get a sneak peek of the article on Brendan’s blog! Make sure to pick-up your copy of the Montreal Gazette this Saturday!

Jennifer Aniston, who hid behind a pair of Ray-Ban shades, taped an appearance on Good Morning America earlier in the day to promote Five, her new project with Lifetime.
Five is a series of short films about women and breast cancer directed by Jennifer and other female celebrities, including Demi Moore and Alicia Keys.

Don’t miss Five, which will air in a two-hour block on Lifetime on Monday, October 10.

Obama fundraiser

Lady Gaga attended a fundraising event for Barack Obama in Silicon Valley yesterday. The event was held under a tent in the yard of Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg, and apparently, Gaga attended as a paying guest (meaning she didn't perform any of her songs, but was merely an audience member).

The Lady said last week she wanted to meet with Obama to discuss her concerns about bullying, but it wasn't clear whether the two had that discussion during this fundraiser.

Two funerals

Charlie Sheen's character on Two And A Half Men died on a Paris subway in the first episode of the new season, and then was mercilessly mocked for proclivities that hit close to real life, but Charlie still very much enjoyed the season premiere of the rejiggered "Two and a Half Men."
“That’s got to be the highest attended funeral of all time,” he Sheen told Access Hollywood on Friday night. “And it’s interesting because I’m doing a film with Roman Coppola and there is a funeral scene in that. So I’m a guy that’s gonna have to survive my own funeral twice in the same year!"

Top spot

The Lion King 3D maintained its top spot at the box office this week! The rerelease of the beloved Disney animated film brought in $22.1 million, just beating Brad Pitt's new movie Moneyball, which earned $20.6 million,  Variety reports.

Pretty good for a film that's almost 20 years old!

Already #1

Rihanna's new single We Found ove made it to number one on the iunes chart on the first day of its release. Looks like she's having another smash hit on her hands. It's a great song, so there's really no surprise in it charting at the top so soon. Hopefully she will include We Found Love on the European leg of the LOUD Tour, as I will be seeing the show at Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem on November 9th.

Dragged to court

The Illinois Department of Human Rights has given a gay couple the green light to sue two bed and breakfasts after the establishments refused to let out their premises for their civil union ceremony. The couple plans to launch the suits so shortly. An Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) investigation found “substantial evidence” that a civil rights violation had been committed by the two bed and breakfasts: Timber Creek Bed and Breakfast (pictured above) in Paxton and the Beall Mansion of Alton.

In the course of e-mail correspondence with  bed and breakfast owner Jim Walder, Todd Wathen (one half of the couple) had argued: “starting June 1st, a civil union is a wedding, you have to get a licenses at the county clerks office, it is just not a marriage ... but a legal wedding ... so aren’t you discriminating against me and my partner, because of our sexual orientation??”

Walder used the usual irrelevant bullshit that he would not host such ceremonies “even if they become legal in Illinois. We believe homosexuality is wrong and unnatural based on what the Bible says about it,” he said. “If that is discrimination, I guess we unfortunately discriminate."

Yes, you do, and it's only fair you're being dragged to court for it. Imagine you'd say that you wouldn't host any black ceremonies in your lodge, that would be exactly the same.

Mr. Know It All - the video

Kelly Clarkson premiered the official music video for her new single Mr. Know It All (the lead single from her upcoming album Stronger). Check it out above!

Tori Amos’ appearance on Nic Harcourt’s KCSN radio program Connections is now available for streaming from the program's website. Click on the “2011-09-24” button on the right of the player there and the three-hour show should start streaming. Nic kicked off the show by playing “Carry” from the album but the actual in-studio interview and performance takes up the last half-hour of the program.

The session included performances of “Edge of the Moon,” “Nautical Twilight,” “Cloud on my Tongue,” and “Carry.” The balance of the half-hour was spent in discussion with Nic about Night of Hunters, from its start as a commission by Deustche Grammaphon to the inspiration for the story that makes up the narrative of the album to the incorporation of Ireland into the story. She also gives some details about the narrative that hadn’t surfaced in other interviews so far.
