Setting the rumors straight

Adele is undergoing throat surgery and has been forced to cancel anymore appearances for the rest of the year as a result.  Contrary to nasty rumors, however, the surgery is not because of throat cancer! To set the record straight, her spokesperson has released a statement, saying:

“We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false.”

Good for her!

Shadow

I know it's totally lip-synced, and I know it's basically a bad performance, but I've actually been to the Onyx Hotel Tour by Britney Spears, and this song, Shadow, is one of my very favorite songs she has ever recorded, so I'm happy to see this video anyway.

25x Kylie Minogue

Earlier today I did a Britney Spears Top 7, but I haven't done a proper top list today, so let's do a new Kylie Minogue top 25! My favorite Kylie songs change constantly (except for the number one and two, which will ALWAYS be Your Disco Needs You and Better The Devil You Know), so I feel like I'm entitled to updating the list every once in a while. 2) Better The Devil You Know
3) Illusion
4) No More Rain
5) Your Love
6) I'm So High
7) I Should Be So Lucky
8) Love At First Sight
9) Dreams
10) White Diamond
11) Wow
12) Secret (Take Me Home)
13) More More More
14) Hand On Your Heart
15) Aphrodite
16) Get Outta My Way
17) Got To Be Certain

19) Speakerphone
20) Never Too Late
21) Put Yourself In My Place

Obviously, it's difficult to choose.... I love them all! What are your favorites?

Marry the night - live in India

Lady Gaga performed her latest Born This Way single Marry The Night for the very first time at the Formula One after-party in India on Sunday night. Accompanied by guitar and piano, Gaga performed an acoustic rendition of "Marry The Night" in front of hundreds of fans at the invite-only event.

Amazing!

Show canceled

Rihanna has been hospitalized in Sweden, and has canceled a LOUD Tour performance at the Malmo Arena due to an unknown illness. Earlier in the day, Rihanna tweeted a picture of her arm with tubes coming out, captioned “Sorry Malmo!!!”

A representative for LiveNation said that Rihanna is “not in condition to conduct the concert.”

I hope she gets well soon, and that she will be able to perform the LOUD show at Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem on November 9, when I get to see the show.

My future husband

Seriously, how hot can you get? I have no idea what photoshoot this is from (if any of my readers do, please let me know), but Jason Beitel (who, by the way, tweeted me this morning) looks smoking hot in it!

Put your hands up

The person who was filming this was standing only one or two rows behind me, and you can constantly see my hands and sometimes the back of my head :-)

Enjoy Kylie Minogue singing Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love) during the Aphrodite Les Folies Tour at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam.

Breathe heavy

Recently I found the most amusing Britney Spears forum I have ever seen. Called Breathe Heavy, the people on this forum are basically nuts. Half of them are constantly bashing Britney for everything she does, while the other half is desperately defending her as if she was an old friend of the family.

Since I've discovered this site, I check back every day to have a good laugh. Join in on the fun by clicking here.

Number 10

Secret Codes And Battleships, the new album by the wonderful Darren Hayes, has entered the Australian Album Top 40 at number 10. Considering the fact that other than X Factor, Darren hasn't been able to promote the album much Down Under (he has been touring the UK instead), this is a great accomplishment! Hopefully the abum will climb even further up the charts!

Progress boxset

Take That are releasing a boxset filled with memories from one of the most spectacular tours of the year - Progress Live.

This summer, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams embarked on the biggest tour the UK and Ireland had ever seen, breaking records and playing to over 1.8 million people.

Now, you can relive the tour from the comfort of your own home with the Progress Live Boxset, including the 2-disc Progress Live DVD and Progress Live - the album, featuring every hit song performed by Take That and Robbie during the two and a half hour stage show. If that wasn't enough, you'll also be treated to an exclusive 40-page tour photo book, all presented in a beautiful keepsake box.

The Boxset will be released on Monday 28th November.

Custody visit

Former Spice Girl Mel B’s daughter Phoenix Chi has filed a police report against her dad after he reportedly refused to hand her back at the end of a routine custody visit, leading to the police being called. Phoenix, 12, normally sees her dad Jimmy Gulzar four times a month, but he reportedly refused to let her go after a visit on 10 October.

According to the Mirror, Mel’s husband Stephen Belafonte arrived to collect stepdaughter Phoenix, but ended up calling the police after Jimmy apparently initially refused to let her go home. When Phoenix eventually left the house she was taken to the station to file a report against her dad. Mel B has also given the police a full statement after being contacted by LAPD.

The alleged incident, registered as “battery” by police, happened during one of Jimmy’s allotted routine custody visits. In the report, state-school educated Phoenix states her occupation as ‘student’, and lists her personal e-mail account as a point of contact.

A source said: “This whole situation defies belief - it is shocking and, for poor Phoenix, utterly heart breaking. When Stephen got to the house to collect Phoenix, he wouldn’t give her back forcing Stephen to call the police. When the cops arrived they informed Jimmy he was legally required to return his daughter otherwise he would face a charge of kidnapping.”

By the way, is it just me, or does Mel B. look like typical trailer trash?

Celebrity cookbook

Celine Dion has shared cherished family recipes of Fried Cauliflowers and Sfihas (Meat Tarts), given to her by her late mother-in-law Alice AngĂ©lil, in a new cookbook titled Loukoumi's Celebrity Cookbook.

Nick Katsoris, an award-winning childrens' books author, has gathered the favorite childhood recipes of more than 50 celebrities, in this illustrated cookbook for children and their families. For every book sold, a minimum of $2 will be donated to Chefs for Humanity and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Perverted spirit

A New Jersey high school teacher is under investigation for posting comments opposing homosexuality on Facebook. Viki Knox (pictured above) is a special education teacher at Union High School and was offended by a large school display recognizing October as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History month. Two weeks ago, she used her personal Facebook page to express her opinion about a lesbian and gay history month display at her school.

In the post she wrote, "Homosexuality is a perverted spirit that has existed from the beginning of creation. I do not pretend to know ALL things. Nor do I pretend not to have biases, failings and faults. But I know sin and it breeds like cancer!"

According to The New York Times, a parent complained to the administration officials about the teacher's comments. Gay rights activists in the group Garden State Equality now want Mrs. Knox fired. The school so far has placed her on paid leave. Union schools superintendent Patrick Martin told Reuters the district is investigating and would take "all appropriate action" after an investigation.

Stupid bitch, She should indeed be fired.

Respect of marriage

A fresh push is under way among US Senate Democrats to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the 1996 federal law that defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman and allows states not to recognize gay marriages performed in other states.

On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee is to consider and decide on whether it will send the Respect of Marriage Act, an effort sponsored by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California) that would repeal DOMA, to the full Senate.

Good news!

Paranormal poll

Madonna at the Olympics

According to UK tabloid The Sun, Madonna is planning to play in front of a huge crowd in London next summer, performing to 60,000 fans in Hyde Park during the 2012 Olympics.

The official site for the games - running in the UK capital from July 27 to August 12, 2012 - describes Hyde Park ad the "home to the music, theatre, film and cultural events that will take place throughout the summer of 2012".

According to a source, the event is already confirmed for July 2012 and is part of a series of LiveNation produced events pre-olympics, expected to be announced in December with tickets going on sale then too. Back in February, it was announced that LiveNation UK was appointed as event organiser and promoter of London's four festival sites during the 2012 Olympic Games - Hyde Park, Victoria Park, Trafalgar Square and Potters Fields Park - with the rights to stage concerts and offer hospitality packages, food and drink concessions and merchandising opportunities.

Press statement

Kylie Minogue's record company Parlophone have released a press statement to celebrate the upcoming release of Aphrodite les Folies on DVD:

Parlophone will release Kylie’s amazing performance ‘Aphrodite – Les Folies’, filmed live at London’s O2 Arena last April, on CD, DVD and Blu-ray on November 28th. The tour was Kylie’s most ambitious and spectacular to date and the DVD footage, filmed over 2 nights, captures the show at its absolute peak. Directed by William Baker and Marcus Viner, all formats also feature an exclusive tour documentary.

The ultra theatrical tour was devised with Kylie’s creative director, William Baker and toured 5 continents, 27 countries, 55 cities, 77 shows, with 150 days on the road, 85,000km travelled and audience numbers in excess of 575,000.

With costumes created exclusively for Kylie by Dolce & Gabbana, the stage show followed an enchanting Greek mythology theme, and featured an astonishing water finale. This was a show that truly redefined what a pop concert could be.

Hall of fame

The ARIA Hall of Fame is an exclusive club that is about to get some new members! This year, two worthy recipients will join the ranks of those illustrious artists already inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, a list that includes bona fide music legends such as AC/DC, Dame Joan Sutherland, Olivia Newton John, Johnny O‟Keefe, Paul Kelly, John Farnham, INXS, Slim Dusty, Jimmy Little and many more.
For 2011, ARIA is proud to announce the impending induction of two true icons of the Australian music industry – Kylie Minogue and The Wiggles.

You can count on the fingers of one hand the number of “pop” artists who’ve lasted more than a decade, let alone more than two: Kylie Minogue will be celebrating her twenty fifth year in music next year! It was back in July 1987 that Kylie released her first single, a remake of the 1962 Little Eva hit Locomotion, which went on to win Kylie her very first ARIA Award in 1988. Since then, Kylie has been nominated thirty five times and gone on to win nine ARIA Awards and three Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Fans of Australian music will get to watch all the action of the 2011 ARIA Awards with the announcement that the Awards will screen on the No. 1 digital channel, GO!, from 7.30pm on Sunday, 27 November.

Congratulations to Kylie!

Larger than life

In order to promote her new movie My Week With Marilyn, Michelle Williams is on the cover of the UK edition of Elle Magazine. Here ae some quotes from the interview:

On taking the role of Marilyn Monroe: “I was so apprehensive. It was daunting living up to people’s expectations as well as my own expectations.”

On parallels with Marilyn’s life and her own: “There were so many connections and parallels for me in making this film. I was 30 when making the movie, the same age Marilyn was when she filmed The Prince and the Showgirl, the picture our film is based around. We filmed in the same studio at Pinewood where that movie was made. I had the same dressing room Marilyn had used and we also shot at the same house, Parkside, where she had stayed during filming.”

On wanting to know the real Marilyn: “I had always been more interested in the private Marilyn, and the unguarded Marilyn. Even as a young girl, my primary concern wasn’t with this larger than life personality smiling back from the wall but with what was going on underneath.”

Multiple injuries

A 27-year-old California surfer suffered multiple injuries after being attacked by a shark in Monterery County on Saturday. The Monterey Herald reports Eric Tarantino was attacked about 7 a.m. Saturday while surfing with a friend at Marina State Beach.

The surfers had been in the water for about 10 minutes when the shark bit Tarantino on the neck and right forearm.

Tarantino’s friend, Brandon McKibben of Salinas, Calif., helped him out of the water, and other surfers rushed to apply a tourniquet by using beach towels to try to stop his bleeding, according to the newspaper.

Authorities say Tarantino was taken to a local airport by paramedics and flown to a San Jose hospital.

Geting involved

And speaking about Lady Gaga in India, she spend a hefty chunk of her free time visiting two orphanages in the city. Gaga has revealed she wants to open her own foundation for disadvantaged kids and is using the trip to find out more about children's homes. Despite only having a few hours off every day while she's in India, she has begged her management to shoehorn in trips to the charities. That's where the sensible clothes come in.

A source said: "Gaga would one day like to set up a foundation in her name to help children and, now her career has really taken off, she feels as if it's the right time to do something. She isn't the type of celebrity who just throws cash at things though. She wants to research it all properly and do something huge. She knows it will be a massive amount of work but she wants to start by getting involved in some orphanages that already exist and devote some of her time and money to helping them."

Unique for India

Lady Gaga performed at the first ever Grand Prix of India last weekend, and for the first time in a very long time, she actually looked quite normal! She said about the show:

"I work very hard, so everyone of my performances are so different. We have built a special stage for the show on Sunday which is unique for India. I am going to perform some of my collaborations with Indian DJs. My outfit is going to be a hybrid of my vision and the Indian vision. I have modernised it a bit. There will be some surprises and I am very excited for you to see my show."

I'll try to find some videos of her performance later!

Bumb and pumpkin

As you probably know, Lily Allen is pregnant with her first child, and she wants the world to know! She posted this picture of her baby bumb on Twitter today, and wrote:

"Me, bump and pumpkin, i did it last night during x-factor."

Congratulations!

Hidden treasures

A new album of unheard Amy Winehouse material is to be released — just months after her tragic death at the age of 27. Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures includes a track recorded while the troubled star was under the influence of heroin.
Another song in the surprise collection — out in December — tells of cheating by ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil during the couple's turbulent relationship.

Amy's emotional dad Mitch wept as he listened to the album — and admitted: "I never realised what a true genius she was."

7x Britney Spears

However, even though I think a Britney Spears 'live' 'concert' is just ridiculous, I do very much enjoy listening to her music, so in order to sort of counter my negative posts about her show, today's top 7 (can't do a top ten since she hasn't released ten albums yet), here's my Britney Spears Album Top Ten:

1) Circus
2) Femme Fatale
3) In The Zone
4) Blackout
5) Britney
6) Oops I Did t Again
7) Baby One More Time

What are yours?

Empty seats

We all knew Britney Spears' Femme Fatale Tour was tanking big time, but this picture, taken just 17 minutes before showtime at the O2 Arena in London last weekend, basically says it all. The floor is half empty, and the tiers have more empty seats than people in them.

Remember, just 3 years ago, Britney filled up the O2 Arena 8 times with her The Circus Starring britney Spears Tou. These days she can't even fill up the arena 2 times (granted, she also plays a show at Wembley Arena, so that makes a total of 3 shows in London).

Occupy Sesame Street

I found this picture on Facebook earlier this week, and thought it was really, really funny, so I thought it would be nice to share it with you all.

Hopefully all this Occupy bullshit will end soon!

No judge

Rumors have been flying around the internet these past couple of days claiming Kylie Minogue would receive a million pounds to be a judge on upcoming British talentshow The Voice. However, the BBC has confirmed these rumors aren't true.

I'm glad they're not. Being a judge on The Voice would prevent Kylie from touring next year, and we all know a tour is what the fans want most.

Super bowl

Sources have confirmed that Madonna's performance at the Super Bowl is definitely a go and confirmed. At present time Madonna is set to perform five songs and among them the first single from the new album that has already been chosen which reminds of a cheerleader song. The new single - and the album as well - will feature two vocal guests: MIA and Nicki Minaj.

Madonna is set to have three music guests on the SuperBowl stage, and supposedly two of them are the new single's guest singers mentioned above. Super Bowl XLVI takes place in Indianapolis on February 5, 2012.

Paranormal activity 3

As you may know, I'm a huge horror freak, so my friend Ziena and I went to see Paranormal Activity 3 at the cinema last night. Since part 1 and 2 were scary as hell, I thought it would be very hard to top time as far as the fright factor goes, but this third installment definitely succeeded. It was scaries than the first two movies combined!

Paranormal Activity 3 takes us back to the time when Katie and Kristi, the main characters from the first and second movie, were little kids, about 9 and 6 years old. We get to find out why the demon is harrassing them in the first place, and this sets the mood for some extremely scary scenes. In fact, many times people were actually screaming in the theatre, because they got scared the shit out of them.

The best thing about this movie was, in the end there are still some questions unanswered, so I think it's safe to say there will be a Paranormal Activity 4. Bring it on!

Prevention of cruelty

For her birthday, if any of her fans were looking to give her a gift, Katy Perry asked that they donate to the ASPCA. Katy set up a donation page to benefit the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

She tweeted: "Thanks for the sweet B-day messages! For my b-day I have set up a donation page. The voice for ANIMALS! Give if u can!"

On her ASPCA donations page she left a message that said: "Thank you to everyone for your donations! These funds will make a lot more kittens (& other animals) happy in this world!"

New album

Backstreet Boys (Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, A. J. McLean and Howie Dorough) have begun work on their eighth studio album, reports Digital Spy.

In an exclusive interview with the site, Howie Dorough says: “It’s too early to say what the direction of the record will be – right now we’re just writing and gathering songs. Our last album was a bit more Euro-dance but we’re considering moving back to our pop-rock sound.” Adding: “We always try to stay ahead of the curve and top ourselves with each album.”

After releasing their last album, 2009′s This Is Us, the Backstreet Boys parted ways with Jive records the following year. No word if they have signed to a new label, but Dorough will release his debut solo album, Back To Me, independently in the U.S. on November 15th. Beginning November 20th in La Plata, Argentina, Howie will joining Britney Spears for select “Femme Fatale” tour dates.

The voice

THE BBC has offered Kylie Minogue £1 million of licence payers' cash to be a judge on new singing show The Voice. The new offer would put Kylie, 43, on double what Bruce Forsyth gets for the BBC's biggest show, Strictly Come Dancing — and twice what ITV pay Tulisa for X Factor.
A BBC source confirmed the offer was close to £1m, adding: "We won't break the bank for anyone." And she deserves it!

Surprise performance

P!nk made a surprise return to the stage last night — four months after becoming a mother for the first time. She stunned the audience and performers of an experimental play by jumping on stage with a cast member to sing a cover of a jazz classic.

P!nk joined actress Karen Marie Richardson in a rendition of George Gershwin's Summertime during a performance of Sleep No More. P!nk, who is married to Carey Hart and had their daughter Willow in June, was enjoying a night out at the show, held in New York's Manderley Bar, when she decided to entertain her fellow drinkers.

Question and answer

Thanks to Tori Amos fansite Undented, an answer regarding the Night Of Hunters Tour sweepstakes:

Question: Have you heard any news in regards to the contest winners being chosen yet or not for the pre-sale sweepstakes that you had posted on the site earlier in September? Your site linked over the the official Tori site for the entry contest and it basically stated that 2 winners would be selected for the 13 US leg venues with front row seats. Any updates on this would be appreciated! Thanks! — Clay

Answer: According to the sweepstakes rules, winners were to be notified by U.S. mail and email on or around the 25th of September. As far as we know, winners were notified privately and there are no plans to make any sort of public announcement.

In case you missed it when the special aired on HBO or if you just can't wait for it to come out on DVD, which it will just a day following, Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden will play in select theatres for one show only on Monday, Nov. 21st at 7 pm.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, Oct. 28th and you'll be able to see then if there is a showing close to you. Wish I lived in the United States (for just one minute, after that, I'll gladly go back to being a European.

Some more details

As I wrote yesterday, apparently Madonna's brother Anthony is living on the streets, without his filthy rich sister helping him out. However today, some more details about his condition have surfaced. Says a source:

"He has had multiple opportunities and we have done so many things and committed so many resources to get him help. We've done so much over the past 15 years and attempted to help him but he has done nothing to help himself. There is nothing more we or anyone else can do. He is where he is because of himself. He has had more help than 95 percent of the people out there, there is nothing more we can do. Anthony will take this media attention as far as he can."

Well, that changes things.

Party

Beyonce's new music video, for latest single Party  from her album 4, has just been released. Still not digging it... Is it just me or is this album just a hell of a flop?

Sad accident

A 31-year-old woman was killed last night after falling from a fairground ride outside of Dublin's O2 Arena, directly after she attended Britney Spears' Femme Fatale concert.

According to reports, the ride had been set up directly outside of the venue for fans to use after the show ended, and the anonymous victim was killed instantly after falling from it around 11:20pm.
Authorities and a forensic team are currently investigating the accident, and the Health and Safety Authority have launched an inquiry into how the accident happened, and if the heavy rain that day had anything to do with the accident.

Sad news.

Update: Britney just tweeted about the accident herself:

I was saddened to hear of the tragic accident in Dublin. My heart goes out to the family. -Britney

Adressing rumors

Rumor number one: I am not planning to get married any time soon. I've been married once, and I don't know if I'll get married again. But I can tell you that as of this very moment, I have no plan to get married. Got that? And rumor number two: no, we're not pregnant. It's just I quit smoking, so I've gained a couple of pounds. There is no desperation to get pregnant. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I'm at peace with whatever the plan is.

Jennifer Aniston, adressing rumors.

Backstage snippet

Kylie Minogue has posted a snippet from the backstage documentary that will be on the Aphrodite Les Folies Tour DVD! Check it out above!

25 Years

Next year Kylie Minogue celebrates her 25th year in the music industry and, luckily for us fans, all sorts of huge plans are being hatched. Kylie has been tweeting pictures from a studio this week and from the looks of it she’s stripping things back, with a more orchestral sound for her new album, and hopefully the Anti Tour.

Also, Kylie is planning to celebrate her quarter century at the top with an all-singing all-dancing ITV1 special. Hurrah! A career like that deserves a celebration!
